Withlacoochee River RV Park Introduce
For local residents seeking a refreshed and enhanced riverside camping experience within the "camping near me" category, the Withlacoochee River RV Park, located at 39847 FL-575, Dade City, FL 33523, USA, is undergoing significant positive changes under new ownership and management. Recent customer reviews indicate substantial improvements are already underway, making this RV park an increasingly attractive option for those looking to enjoy the natural beauty of the Withlacoochee River and the surrounding Central Florida landscape.
The "environment" of Withlacoochee River RV Park is naturally defined by its location along the scenic Withlacoochee River. This provides campers with direct access to the river and its associated natural beauty. The presence of water offers opportunities for various recreational activities and often enhances the overall camping experience with soothing sounds and picturesque views. The ongoing improvements, such as the installation of new RV spots right on the riverbank, suggest an emphasis on maximizing the waterfront access and the inherent appeal of a riverside setting. While the previous state of the park may have had some issues with trash and road conditions, the new management is actively addressing these, indicating a commitment to creating a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing environment for visitors. The surrounding area likely features typical Central Florida vegetation, offering a natural and potentially shaded camping experience.
The "services" offered at Withlacoochee River RV Park are evolving under the new ownership. Historically, the park included canoe rentals, providing guests with direct access to explore the Withlacoochee River by water. While the reviews don't explicitly confirm the continuation of this service, the name of the park suggests it remains a key offering, and it's reasonable to inquire about canoe and potentially kayak rentals when contacting the new management. A significant upgrade highlighted in the reviews is the construction of a brand new bathroom and shower building. This is a crucial amenity for any RV park and indicates a commitment to providing guests with clean and modern facilities. Furthermore, the installation of new RV spots with power directly on the riverbank suggests an expansion and improvement of the park's infrastructure to better accommodate RV travelers. The positive comments about the new manager, Jay, being "handy and helpful" indicate an improved level of customer service and on-site support for guests.
The key "features" of the newly managed Withlacoochee River RV Park are its riverside location, the ongoing infrastructure improvements, and the apparent focus on enhancing the guest experience. The availability of RV spots directly on the riverbank is a significant draw for those who want to maximize their proximity to the water and enjoy waterfront views from their campsite. The paving of the roads with asphalt addresses previous concerns about the park's condition and will likely improve accessibility and the overall appearance of the grounds. The addition of a new bathroom/shower building represents a substantial upgrade in the park's amenities, offering guests more comfortable and modern facilities. The positive feedback regarding the new ownership and management suggests a renewed commitment to maintaining and improving the park for the benefit of visitors. The potential continuation of canoe rentals adds to the appeal for those who enjoy water-based recreation.
While the reviews do not provide specific details about the types of RV sites available (e.g., pull-through, back-in, size limitations), the mention of new spots with power indicates that at least some sites offer electrical hookups. For local RV owners, it would be prudent to inquire about the availability of water and sewer hookups as well when making reservations. The size and layout of the campsites may vary, and it's advisable to ask for details when booking to ensure the site meets your specific needs. The ongoing improvements suggest that the park is investing in its infrastructure to better cater to the needs of modern RV travelers.
Regarding "promotional information," the provided reviews do not mention any specific discounts or special offers for local residents or new visitors. However, the fact that the park is under new ownership and actively undergoing improvements could mean that they may introduce promotional rates to attract new customers and re-establish the park's reputation. Local users are encouraged to contact the Withlacoochee River RV Park directly at (813) 613-0199 or +1 813-613-0199 to inquire about any current specials, seasonal rates, or potential discounts for local residents. The focus on addressing previous issues like trash and road conditions, coupled with the addition of new riverside RV spots and a modern bathroom facility, indicates a strong commitment to enhancing the guest experience. Mar 30, 2024 · TheOffroadFamilyThe new owners and management have definitely made it a better place than previously and Jay the manager is handy and helpful overall enjoyed our visit and plan to return soon!!!
May 01, 2025 · SarahAs a place for RVs it's very, very old. It only has 15 sites and it's seriously run down (including all the campers we saw). The kayak and canoe rental equipment are very run down as well. The lady that owns the place is 74 and in poor health. She was however pleasant enough.
Mar 04, 2021 · Bud JacksonNice, clean and quiet campground. Everyone from the owner to fellow campers are so nice. We stayed one weekend, liked it so much we went back to weeks later.
May 17, 2022 · John AponteIt's a rundown little place overpriced and they say it's on the Withlacoochee river I've been on that river many time's and this place isn't exactly on the river it's like maybe on a small cannel that maybe comes off the river and where it is there's barely enough water to launch a small kayak you can actually step over the river at this place and I'm only 5'2 and have short leg's very disappointing and there's are people who are on Drug's all over the place this place is a dump and should be shut down
