Ridge Manor Campground Introduce
For local residents exploring "camping near me" in the Dade City area of Florida, Ridge Manor Campground, located at 33456 Cortez Blvd, Dade City, FL 33523, USA, presents a destination characterized by its strong sense of community and friendly atmosphere. Based on customer reviews, this campground appears to foster a welcoming environment, particularly noted by the helpfulness of both fellow campers and the management. While some feedback touches on the economics of longer-term stays, the overall impression for visitors seems to be positive, highlighting the social aspects and the quiet yet lively ambiance of the park.
The environment surrounding Ridge Manor Campground in Dade City is typical of central Florida, likely featuring a mix of natural landscapes and proximity to local amenities. Dade City is known for its rural character, antique shops, and the nearby Withlacoochee State Forest, offering opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and nature viewing. While the immediate surroundings of the campground are not explicitly described as being heavily wooded or directly on a waterfront, the region itself provides a backdrop of natural beauty and a quieter pace of life compared to more urban areas. The mention of it being "quiet, yet lively" suggests a balance between peacefulness and social engagement within the campground itself.
In terms of services, Ridge Manor Campground is noted for its friendly and helpful management. One reviewer specifically thanked "Donna" in the office for getting them set up for their stay, indicating efficient and welcoming service upon arrival. The willingness of the management to assist new arrivals suggests a commitment to guest satisfaction. While the reviews don't detail specific amenities like swimming pools, laundry facilities, or recreational areas, the positive comments about the community and the desire of some to live there indicate that the campground likely provides the essential services needed for a comfortable stay, whether short-term or longer.
A significant feature of Ridge Manor Campground, consistently highlighted in the reviews, is its strong sense of community and the friendliness of its residents. The phrase "great Folks in every spot & a wonderful sense of Community" paints a picture of a welcoming and socially engaging environment. This could be particularly appealing to travelers who value interaction with others and enjoy being part of a close-knit community during their stay. The mention of "friendly locals" going out of their way to be helpful further reinforces this positive social aspect of the campground.
One reviewer mentioned that the campground "would be an excellent place to live, or visit," emphasizing the quiet yet lively atmosphere. This suggests that while the campground offers a peaceful setting, there is also a degree of social activity and engagement among the residents, preventing it from feeling isolated or dull. This balance could be attractive to a variety of campers, from those seeking a relaxing retreat to those who also appreciate social interaction.
However, one review does bring up the topic of lot rent increases for longer-term residents, expressing a concern about affordability, particularly for the elderly. This feedback, while not directly impacting short-term visitors, provides insight into the campground's business model and its relationship with long-term residents. It's important to note that this concern is framed within the broader context of rising costs in Florida campgrounds generally, rather than being solely specific to Ridge Manor. While this might not be a primary concern for those looking for "camping near me" for a shorter visit, it's an aspect of the campground's operation that has been noted by its community members.
Despite the concerns about lot rent for long-term residents, the overall tone of the reviews regarding the experience of visiting and the friendliness of the community and management remains positive. This suggests that for short-term campers or those considering a visit, Ridge Manor Campground offers a welcoming and supportive environment. The emphasis on community and helpfulness stands out as a key feature that distinguishes it from campgrounds that might focus solely on amenities or natural surroundings.
While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the provided reviews, the strong sense of community and the positive feedback regarding the management and fellow campers could be considered a form of "promotion" through word-of-mouth. For local users searching for a friendly and welcoming "camping near me" experience, the testimonials suggest that Ridge Manor Campground delivers on these aspects. The quiet yet lively atmosphere also hints at a balanced environment that can cater to different preferences.

Ridge Manor Campground Reviews
The friendly locals ( that's you veron ) could not have been more helpful and 👍. The office manager and husband were great with getting me all set up for my stay. Thanks again for your hospitality Donna.
Jul 10, 2023 · Donna WilhelmWould be an excellent place to live, or visit, as it is quiet, yet lively; with great Folks in every spot & a wonderful sense of Community.Management was friendly enough, but I dislike that every couple of years the Lot Rents go up. That's okay for a Park where there's stuff to do & offers amenities, but that seems to be how it is in Florida, no matter what. Yet, I don't have to like it!Still prices nearby can be higher in some Parks. Sad to see the Elderly are being taken advantage like this. It should be like that for travelers or at least charge according to income, not the same to all, as some have more $$ than others... 😓😔😥 That's a crime to me.
Apr 26, 2021 · D. A.I have been tasked to find a campground that offers seasonal (around 3-4 months) space for relatives from up North. I visited Ridge Manor Campground and was very pleased with my interaction with the staff, the amenities/activities, and cleanliness of the public areas. Shower and bathroom facilities were very clean. I was late in the season, so there were currently no spaces available. Ridge Manor is the nicest campground I visited in my search. Thank you to the staff for taking the time to educate me on your property and providing great information! I will be seeing you in the future!
