First, they tried put my 29 foot camper on a site that would accommodate a vehicle only half that long.Second, the site they did give me was so cramped, I hardly had room for my camper and tow vehicle.Third, the showers were run down and dingy. I would not have wanted to use them. Plus, I was never told how to get firewood.Fourth, I paid for a 1 month stay ($850) and after 4 nights had to leave. My surge protector detected too much fluctuation in the power whenever I turned my RV fan on.Since I have a pet, I required A/C so I could leave the camper at times. When I called and spoke to the owner about the power, he said to unplug my surge protector! Not an option under any circumstances.I am full time RV, so I had to find an alternate campground on July 4th - the busiest camping weekend in Wisconsin. I was told the owner would bring me a check for partial reimbursement the day I was leaving. I waited for a couple of hours so I could leave but he didn't show and didn't call. I finally called the owners and was told he didn't have his checkbook that day. He wanted to mail it, but I don't have a physical address. After a couple of days chasing them on this, he finally sent me $500 via Venmo. It was $850 for the month, but $350 for 4 nights. - Gina Nordseth

Rome Riverside Campground Introduce

Are you searching for "camping near me" in the Sullivan, Wisconsin area? Rome Riverside Campground, located at N3780 W Water St, Sullivan, WI 53178, USA, presents itself as a potential option for your camping needs. You can reach them at (262) 593-8663 or their mobile number, +1 262-593-8663, for inquiries. Based on recent customer feedback, the campground seems to offer a mix of positive and negative experiences, which potential local users should be aware of when considering this location.

The environment of Rome Riverside Campground, as the name suggests, benefits from its riverside location. While specific details about the scenic beauty of the river or the surrounding landscape are not extensively described, a riverside setting often implies opportunities for water-related activities and a potentially tranquil ambiance. However, it's important to note that one reviewer experienced issues with the suitability and size of the assigned camping site, indicating that not all sites may be equally spacious or appropriate for larger campers. This suggests that prospective campers should inquire about site dimensions and suitability for their specific equipment when making arrangements.

In terms of services and features, reviews present a somewhat contrasting picture. On the positive side, recent feedback highlights that the campground and shower building are "kept immaculate," and that the women's showers have even received new showerheads. This suggests that the current management is attentive to cleanliness and facility maintenance, which is a significant plus for any camper. Additionally, the availability of firewood for purchase is mentioned, with staff even delivering it to campsites during a busy event weekend. The campground is also noted to be within walking distance of a "cute little shop called Pickets," which could offer convenience for campers needing supplies or wanting to explore local offerings.

Furthermore, one positive review emphasizes "huge camping plots," suggesting that at least some sites offer ample space for campers and their vehicles. This is a significant advantage for those who value having room to spread out and enjoy their campsite. The same reviewer also praised the staff, describing every interaction as positive and highlighting their dedication to ensuring guests have the best possible stay.

However, it is crucial to consider the negative experiences reported by another camper. This individual encountered several issues, starting with being initially assigned a site too small for their 29-foot camper. The subsequent site was described as cramped, barely accommodating the camper and tow vehicle. This raises concerns about the accuracy of site descriptions and the campground's ability to appropriately accommodate different sizes of camping equipment.

The same negative review also mentioned that the showers were "run down and dingy," directly contradicting the more recent positive feedback about immaculate facilities. This discrepancy could indicate recent improvements or inconsistencies in the upkeep of different areas of the campground. The lack of clear information provided about firewood availability at the time of the negative review also suggests potential inconsistencies in guest communication.

A particularly concerning issue raised in the negative review was related to power fluctuations. The camper reported that their surge protector detected significant power instability when using their RV fan, which was essential for running the air conditioning needed for their pet. The owner's alleged suggestion to unplug the surge protector is highly problematic and indicates a potential lack of understanding regarding RV electrical safety. This issue ultimately led the camper to leave after only four nights of a заплаченный month-long stay.

The experience of seeking reimbursement was also negative, with the owner reportedly failing to meet an agreed-upon time for delivering a partial refund check and initially citing a lack of a checkbook. While a partial refund of $500 was eventually provided via Venmo for the $350 cost of the four nights stayed, the process was described as involving "chasing them on this," highlighting potential difficulties in resolving issues with the management at that time.

Considering the platform category "camping near me," local users need to weigh these contrasting reports carefully. The recent positive review suggests improvements in facility cleanliness and staff helpfulness, along with the benefit of large camping plots and proximity to a local shop. These are certainly attractive features for those seeking a convenient and pleasant camping experience.

However, the negative review raises serious concerns about site suitability, potential issues with shower conditions (depending on when the review was written), power stability, and past difficulties in resolving customer service issues. For local users with larger RVs, it would be prudent to specifically inquire about site sizes and ensure that the assigned site can comfortably accommodate their vehicle. Additionally, those relying on consistent and stable power for medical devices or pet comfort should inquire about the campground's electrical system and potentially consider bringing their own testing equipment.

Promotional information is somewhat limited based on these reviews. The positive aspects highlighted – immaculate facilities, friendly and helpful staff, large camping plots, riverside location, and proximity to a local shop – can be considered implicit promotional points. The fact that staff went above and beyond to deliver ice and firewood during a busy concert weekend also speaks to their dedication to guest service during peak times.

In conclusion, Rome Riverside Campground offers a riverside location and, according to a recent review, boasts immaculate facilities and friendly staff. The availability of large camping plots and proximity to a local shop are also potential benefits for local campers searching under "camping near me." However, past experiences indicate potential drawbacks such as issues with site suitability for larger campers, concerns about power stability, and previous difficulties with customer service and refunds. Local users should consider these contrasting reports and directly communicate with the campground regarding their specific needs and concerns before making a booking to ensure a satisfactory camping experience.
