Sherry Creek Campground Introduce
For local users in search of "camping near me" that combines access to exciting outdoor activities with the tranquility of nature, Sherry Creek Campground, located at 2348 Colville-Tiger Rd, Colville, WA 99114, presents a compelling option. This campground is situated in a region known for its natural beauty and opportunities for adventure, making it a potential destination for those looking to immerse themselves in the Washington wilderness.
Sherry Creek Campground offers a setting that caters to various outdoor interests. According to visitor feedback, the campground itself is "great" and provides "spaces between sites," suggesting a degree of privacy and room to relax and enjoy your surroundings. This spacing can enhance the camping experience, allowing for a more secluded and peaceful atmosphere compared to campgrounds with tightly packed sites.
One of the significant features highlighted by reviewers is the abundance of recreational activities available in the area surrounding Sherry Creek Campground. For those who enjoy exploring on foot or by bicycle, the campground is conveniently located near "plenty of hiking, biking, and relaxing" opportunities. The natural terrain and scenic landscapes around Colville offer a variety of trails and routes to discover, catering to different skill levels and preferences. Whether you're seeking a leisurely nature walk or a more challenging hike or bike ride, the area surrounding Sherry Creek Campground appears to have options to satisfy your adventurous spirit.
For off-road enthusiasts, Sherry Creek Campground is particularly appealing due to its proximity to "many ATV trails." This makes it an excellent basecamp for those looking to explore the backcountry on their all-terrain vehicles. The thrill of navigating these trails and experiencing the rugged terrain of the Colville area is a major draw for many visitors. However, it's important to note a concern raised by a reviewer regarding the speed of some ATV riders on the roads around the campground, suggesting that caution should be exercised, especially for families with children.
Adding to the natural appeal of the campground is the presence of a creek, described as "nice to cool off in." This feature can be particularly welcome during warmer months, offering a refreshing opportunity to escape the heat and enjoy the natural flow of water. The creek likely provides a soothing backdrop to the campground, enhancing the overall sense of tranquility and connection with nature.
To access and enjoy the natural resources in the area, visitors are reminded to "bring your discover pass." The Washington State Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to state parks and other state-managed recreation lands, ensuring the upkeep and preservation of these valuable natural areas.
However, it is crucial to address a significant concern raised by a recent visitor regarding activity in the surrounding area. The review highlighted "active logging in the area" which resulted in "tractor trailers thundering by the campground starting at about 2:30 am." This was not described as occasional traffic but rather as occurring "every few minutes" and being clearly visible from the campsite. The reviewer noted that this activity severely impacted their ability to sleep and was unexpected as "nothing was posted" to indicate such activity. While acknowledging that the campground was "very nice otherwise," this logging activity presents a considerable drawback for anyone prioritizing a peaceful night's sleep.
Another reviewer echoed the positive aspects of the campground itself, describing it as "great with spaces between sites," but also raised a safety concern related to off-road vehicle use. They noted "the amount of riders in the area that drive way too fast" and specifically cautioned that "kiddos are not safe on the roads around the campground as side by sides drift corners and typically go way too fast." While stating that staying within the campground is "okay," this observation suggests that families with young children should be particularly vigilant when navigating the roads in the vicinity of the campground.
Considering the information available, Sherry Creek Campground offers a mixed experience. On the one hand, it boasts spacious campsites and convenient access to a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, and extensive ATV trails, along with the refreshing Sherry Creek itself. This makes it an attractive option for those seeking adventure and natural beauty in the Colville area. On the other hand, the significant disturbance caused by nighttime logging truck traffic and concerns about the speed of off-road vehicles on nearby roads are crucial factors that potential visitors should be aware of.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Sherry Creek Campground in the provided text. However, the inherent appeal of its location amidst natural beauty and its access to various outdoor recreational activities serve as its primary draw. For local users searching for "camping near me" with a focus on ATV riding, hiking, and biking, Sherry Creek Campground offers a basecamp with spacious sites and creek access. However, potential visitors should carefully consider the recent feedback regarding nighttime noise from logging operations and exercise caution regarding off-road vehicle traffic in the surrounding area to make an informed decision about their camping experience.

Sherry Creek Campground Reviews
Active logging in the area meant tractor trailers thundering by the campground starting at about 2:30am. Not the occasional truck, it was every few minutes. We could see them from our campsite. Very nice campground otherwise, but not for anyone looking to sleep at night. We didn't expect this, nothing was posted, so not sure if this is every night or just something special for us.
Sep 27, 2024 · Jennifer GThis is a great campground with spaces between sites and plenty of hiking, biking, and relaxing to be done. There are many ATV trails to ride and the creek is nice to cool off in. Bring your discover pass and enjoy. I knocked off one star for the amount of riders in the area that drive way too fast. If you stay in the campground it is okay but kiddos are not safe on the roads around the campground as side by sides drift corners and typically go way too fast.
