Southern Comfort RV Resort Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" that offers a friendly community and a convenient base for exploring the southern Florida region? Southern Comfort RV Resort, located at 345 E Palm Dr, Florida City, FL 33034, provides an RV park experience with a focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere for its guests. You can reach them at (305) 248-6909 or +1 305-248-6909 for reservations and information.
Southern Comfort RV Resort is described by long-term visitors as a place where friendships are easily formed, fostering a strong sense of community. While some reviewers have noted that the washroom facilities could benefit from upgrades, many guests, particularly those staying in their own RV accommodations, find the park to be a "gem" offering more than just basic amenities. It's important to remember that this is primarily an RV park, where guests typically bring their own lodging.
The resort boasts a nice, heated pool, providing a relaxing space for guests to enjoy. One of the unique features of Southern Comfort RV Resort is the presence of peacocks roaming the grounds, adding a touch of natural beauty and a distinctive ambiance to the park. Guests often mention enjoying their presence and the sounds they make.
Social interaction and community engagement appear to be key aspects of the Southern Comfort experience. The shuffleboard courts are reportedly a hub of friendly competition and banter, while the recreation center serves as a gathering place for card games, dominoes, and other activities. The on-site Tiki Bar is highlighted as a popular spot, often described as having a "hometown club" feel, where guests can socialize and unwind. Kristina, presumably the bartender or an organizer, is mentioned for keeping the atmosphere fun and engaging.
Southern Comfort RV Resort offers a vibrant social calendar, with activities and events catering to a variety of interests. These include holiday celebrations, potluck dinners fostering a sense of community, karaoke nights for entertainment, live bands showcasing local talent, bingo games, and trivia nights. Additionally, informal groups within the resort organize activities such as bike rides, golf outings, shopping trips, "tea parties" (often with mimosas), craft classes, and bonfires, ensuring there's always something happening and opportunities to connect with fellow guests.
The location of Southern Comfort RV Resort in Florida City is strategically advantageous for those looking to explore the diverse attractions of southern Florida. It serves as an excellent "base camp" for day trips to the Florida Keys, with their stunning coastal scenery and activities, the unique ecosystem of Everglades National Park, and the vibrant city life of Miami and its surrounding areas. This makes it an appealing option for local users seeking a longer stay to experience the region.
It's important to acknowledge that some reviews mention concerns about the surrounding areas of Florida City and Homestead, citing instances of crime that have unfortunately affected the resort. One guest reported the theft of e-bikes and advises others to upgrade their locks and cover their belongings as a precaution. However, they also note that the area is undergoing gentrification, with new condos being built, suggesting potential future improvements in the surrounding environment.
Southern Comfort RV Resort offers weekly and monthly rates, which are reportedly significantly more cost-effective than nightly stays, encouraging guests to settle in and enjoy an extended visit. The sentiment from long-term guests is overwhelmingly positive, with one reviewer stating, "You won't find a better place for a better price" despite acknowledging the need for some facility upgrades. Another guest who stayed for four months expressed their love for the park, the friendly staff, security, and maintenance teams, and the convenient location, affirming their intention to return.
The presence of peacocks is consistently mentioned as a delightful and unique aspect of the resort, with guests appreciating their beauty and the sounds they make. They are described as friendly and a welcome addition to the park's atmosphere.
In summary, Southern Comfort RV Resort offers local users searching for "camping near me" a community-focused RV park in a prime location for exploring the southern Florida region. While some facilities may be in need of updating, the resort provides a range of social activities, a heated pool, and the unique charm of roaming peacocks. Potential guests should be aware of the reported security concerns in the surrounding area and take necessary precautions. However, the positive feedback regarding the friendly atmosphere, engaging community, and convenient access to key attractions suggests that Southern Comfort RV Resort can be a valuable option for those seeking an extended and enjoyable RV experience in Florida City.

Southern Comfort RV Resort Reviews
Our fourth year snow birding here, December - April. This is a place where you meet friends forever. Despite poor reviews from folks that are expecting silver platter service, this place is a gem. The wash rooms need upgraded but in four years, I never used one. It's an RV park, not a hotel. You bring your own accommodations. Nice pool, heated. Peacocks roaming the grounds. The sound of friendly banter at the shuffleboard courts or cards/dominos at the rec center. Tiki Bar like a hometown club. Kristina keeps it fun. Holiday celebrations, pot luck dinners, karaoke, live bands, bingo, trivia nights, live bands, local talent you wouldn't believe. Almost daily individual groups bike ride, golf, shop, tea party (mimosa), craft classes, bonfires or just happy hour like it's 5 o'clock somewhere. This is a great base camp for exploring the Keys, Everglades or Miami and surrounding areas. Yes there are bad ratings for the surrounding areas, Florida City and Homestead and some of the crime does infiltrate into the resort. We personally lost $3500 in E-bikes. Upgrade the locks and cover them. The area is quickly being gentrified with condos popping up everywhere. Weekly and monthly rates are much cheaper than nightly, sit down and stay a while. You won't find a better place for a better price.
Apr 22, 2025 · William GillWe stayed at this park for 4 months this year and we absolutely loved it. I like the staff, security, and maintenance team. They are very friendly and good people. It’s a great location, and for $1,250 a month in Homestead during winter is a pretty good deal. Plus, it’s very close to the Florida Keys, Everglades National Park, and, of course, Miami. Love the peacocks and the beautiful sound they make every morning. They are very friendly and great to have them around the park. Will miss this place and will definitely come back next year.
Apr 12, 2025 · vedimuthan muthuQuiet park and the staff was nice. Our lot was great. We were just overnighting, but the people around us must be here longer term and seemed to be enjoying it. People were walking to the pool, and we saw Peacocks yesterday. $93 for a Monday night in February. I didn't go in the bathhouse. Felt safe to me, but we did make sure things were locked down overnight based on some other reviews. I would stay here again.
Feb 04, 2025 · Jill PateI enjoyed my time spent at Southern Comfort. The camp grounds were clean and so lush with beautiful plants and trees everywhere. I met so many awesome people here. The Tiki bar was alot of fun! Kristina the bartender takes care of you with great drinks, I spent my 33rd birthday here and I had a blast :] I hope to return in the future!
Mar 10, 2025 · ChynnaThis is strictly a value opportunity also plan on locking up everything it seems like daily occurrences (based off my time here) for theft including bicycles and breaking into vehicles. They have security till midnight and you’re on your own after that. The entrance is dumpy and run down with lots of cats. The pool is fair at best on a good dayI can say the staff and residents are very friendly and accommodating01/01/25 updateLast picture posted the bikes were stolen midday when owners left for an hour it’s interesting how the thieves were informed
