Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground Introduce
For those in search of "camping near me" in the Allen, Michigan area, Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground, located at 9411 W Chicago Rd, Allen, MI 49227, USA, presents itself as an option. Based on the available customer feedback, the campground offers a mix of positive and negative aspects that potential local users should consider.
One of the consistently praised features is the management. According to one reviewer, the "Management is outstanding & so very helpful." This positive feedback suggests that visitors can expect a welcoming and supportive experience from the campground staff. The reviewer even stated, "I could of went anywhere with my camper but they make you feel like family," highlighting a strong sense of community and personalized service. This sentiment is further reinforced by the mention of a "Great atmosphere," indicating a pleasant and welcoming environment for campers.
However, it's crucial to consider all aspects of the feedback. One reviewer, who appears to have had a seasonal site, pointed out some limitations. They explicitly stated, "Seasonal site NOT full hookups!! Water & electric only." This is important information for those looking for full hookups (water, electric, and sewer) for their RVs. The reviewer did note that the campground "do have honey wagon service, only runs on Wednesday," and that "yes they have dump station." This indicates that while full hookups aren't available at seasonal sites, there are provisions for waste management, albeit with some constraints on timing for the honey wagon service.
Regarding the pool area, the same reviewer mentioned that it "has no chairs, so better bring your own." This is a practical tip for potential visitors who plan to use the pool and value having a place to sit and relax poolside. The cleanliness of the showers was also brought into question. The reviewer noted, "They said they did remodeling in showers, I looked at them, didn't see improvement. Don't ever see anyone around much, so are they being cleaned?" This raises concerns about the perceived quality and maintenance of the shower facilities.
On a more positive note, the reviewer did acknowledge that "It could be a nice place," and they also mentioned that "It is a quiet campground." This suggests that for those who prioritize a peaceful and tranquil camping experience, Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground might be appealing. However, the reviewer also felt that the campground "need to hire more help to actually maintain and run it like it should be," indicating potential shortcomings in overall maintenance and operational efficiency.
The owners also received a neutral assessment: "Owners seem to be OK." This doesn't provide strong positive or negative insights but suggests a generally acceptable interaction with the ownership.
The final part of this particular review details a negative experience regarding a refund policy. The reviewer, who was being transferred for work, explained their situation but stated that the campground was "not willing to give any sort of refund at all," even a partial one for the unused portion of their seasonal site. This led the reviewer to conclude, "I definitely would NOT ever stay again, seasonal." This experience highlights a potential inflexibility in the campground's refund policy, at least in this specific instance involving a seasonal camper.
Considering these points, Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground offers a location for "camping near me" in Allen, MI, with a management team that is described as outstanding and helpful, contributing to a great atmosphere. The campground is also noted for being quiet, which can be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
However, potential local users, especially those with RVs or those considering a seasonal site, should be aware that full hookups (sewer) are not available at seasonal sites; only water and electric are provided. Waste management relies on a honey wagon service that operates only on Wednesdays and a dump station. If you plan to use the pool, you will need to bring your own chairs. There are also concerns raised about the condition and maintenance of the showers.
For local campers who value helpful management and a quiet environment and whose camping setup aligns with water and electric hookups (or are prepared for the waste management system), Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground could be a viable option. However, it's advisable to be aware of the limitations regarding hookups and pool amenities, as well as the concerns raised about shower maintenance.
To get the most up-to-date information and address any specific concerns, local users are encouraged to contact Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground directly at (517) 869-2522 or +1 517-869-2522. Speaking with the management could provide clarity on the current status of amenities, maintenance schedules, and any policies that might be relevant to your stay.
In conclusion, when searching for "camping near me," Southern Michigan Marble Springs Campground in Allen, MI, offers a setting with praised management and a quiet atmosphere. However, it's important for potential visitors to be aware of the specific hookup limitations for seasonal sites, the lack of chairs at the pool, and the concerns raised about shower maintenance. Weighing these factors against the positive aspects of the management and atmosphere will help local users determine if this campground meets their needs for a local camping experience.

I'm being transferred for work, explained that, but not willing to give any sort of refund at all. Didn't expect full refund for the time I won't be here but a partial would have been the honorable thing to do. I definitely would NOT ever stay again, seasonal.
Jun 19, 2023 · Susan PoschkeWonderful camping experience. The owners are very friendly and don’t hover or bother you. When we first arrived and set up, they came around asking if we needed firewood. They drive around a couple times a day but leave you alone. It’s a beautiful place with lots of water. When we stayed, there were lots of kids so you can safely let your kids run off to the park to play with the others. There are no golf carts or UTV’s allowed (unless you are seasonal and you can have electric only) but the lack of all that traffic was actually pleasant. We took our bikes and it worked out well. The bathrooms were just remodeled and are nice. There are two playgrounds and lots of open space. The hiking trail through the woods is really cool, with streams running through. There is a swimming pond with a beach and separate fishing pond. They are working on the office and store so you do have to drive into town to make last minute purchases. I have Verizon and you basically get no service, but you’re “camping” so it’s not a huge deal. I do wish I had better service to check the weather and minor stuff I do on my phone. Still could text but I didn’t try making a call. Our site had a new, huge picnic table. I would definitely camp here again!

Jul 01, 2023 · Chris GuttingBeautiful scenery just rundown not very well maintained. Sump pump went out on sewerage so no showers were available. Had one bathroom to share with whole campgrounds. Asked for discount and was not willing to offer anything for the inconvenience. Trash not emptied at all in three day stay. Was charged $45 per day so was over priced for what you received.
