Spring Gulch Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the New Holland, Pennsylvania area, Spring Gulch Campground, located at 475 Lynch Rd, New Holland, PA 17557, USA, offers a range of accommodation options, including campsites and cabins. They can be contacted by phone at (717) 354-3100 or mobile phone at +1 717-354-3100.
Based on recent customer reviews, Spring Gulch Campground presents a mixed picture. While some aspects, such as the friendliness of the staff and the overall cleanliness, are praised, a significant incident involving a bed bug infestation in one of the park model units raises important concerns for potential visitors.
Friendly and Helpful Staff
One reviewer specifically mentioned that the "office was very friendly and helpful," and that the "staff around the part were also very friendly and helpful." This suggests that guests can generally expect positive interactions with the campground staff, who are perceived as approachable and willing to assist. Such positive staff interactions can contribute significantly to a pleasant camping experience, making visitors feel welcome and supported during their stay. For local users looking for "camping near me" where they can anticipate good customer service, this feedback is encouraging.
Cleanliness of the Campground
The "overall cleanliness of the campground was very well maintained," according to one review. This is a crucial aspect for any camping facility, as it directly impacts the comfort and hygiene of guests. A well-maintained and clean environment enhances the enjoyment of the outdoor experience and reflects positively on the campground management's commitment to guest satisfaction. Local campers often prioritize cleanliness when choosing a "camping near me," making this a notable positive aspect of Spring Gulch Campground.
Cabin Accommodations
The cabins at Spring Gulch Campground are described as "cozy and not too cramped." However, the reviewer recommends a basic cabin for "only one family of 4," suggesting that space might be limited for larger groups. For local users considering cabin rentals as an alternative to traditional camping, these insights are valuable in determining the suitability of the accommodations based on their family size. The term "cozy" implies a comfortable and intimate space, which could be appealing for smaller families seeking a more sheltered camping experience.
Serious Bed Bug Infestation Incident
A concerning review details a significant negative experience involving a bed bug infestation in park model unit #1409. The reviewer, whose family has been visiting Spring Gulch for over a decade, reported that the infestation was severe enough to force their family to leave in the middle of the night and dispose of most of their belongings. They also stated that the staff was sympathetic but informed them of a history of bitten guests in the same unit several weeks prior. While a refund for the weekend was provided, the reviewer expressed disappointment that no further effort was made to compensate for the significant inconvenience and loss of property. This incident raises serious concerns about the thoroughness of pest control measures and the transparency regarding known issues within the accommodations. For local users considering an overnight stay in any of the park model units or cabins, this report is a critical piece of information to take into account.
Resort Facilities - Satisfactory but Not Pristine
The reviewer who experienced the bed bug infestation also noted that the "resort facilities are never pristine but they are usually at least satisfactory." This provides a general assessment of the overall condition of the campground's amenities. While not explicitly detailing what these facilities include, it suggests that while they might meet basic needs, they may not be top-of-the-line or impeccably maintained. Local users should keep this in mind when considering the level of comfort and quality they expect from a "camping near me."
Implications for Potential Visitors
The contrasting reviews highlight the importance of considering both the positive aspects (friendly staff, cleanliness) and the significant negative experience (bed bug infestation) when evaluating Spring Gulch Campground. For local users searching for "camping near me," the report of a bed bug issue, particularly with the knowledge of prior incidents in the same unit, should prompt careful consideration and potentially direct inquiries to the management regarding their pest control protocols and the current status of their accommodations.
Lack of Promotional Information
The provided data does not contain any specific promotional information for Spring Gulch Campground. Local users interested in potential discounts, seasonal offers, or special packages should visit the campground's website (if available) or contact them directly via phone or email to inquire about any current promotions. It may also be beneficial to check local tourism websites or social media pages for any mentions of special deals or events at Spring Gulch Campground.
Conclusion for Local Users Seeking "Camping Near Me"
Spring Gulch Campground in New Holland, PA, offers the appeal of friendly staff and a generally clean environment. The cabins are described as cozy, though potentially small for larger groups. However, the serious report of a bed bug infestation in a park model unit, coupled with the information that there had been previous incidents in the same unit, is a significant concern that potential visitors must consider. While the resort facilities are deemed satisfactory by a long-term visitor, the pest issue raises questions about the overall quality and maintenance standards, particularly in the accommodations.
For local users searching for "camping near me" and considering Spring Gulch Campground, it is strongly recommended to inquire directly with the management about their current pest control measures, especially if considering a stay in a cabin or park model unit. While the friendly staff and cleanliness are positive attributes, the reported bed bug incident is a serious issue that should not be overlooked. Weighing these factors carefully will help local campers make an informed decision about whether Spring Gulch Campground meets their needs and expectations for a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience.

Spring Gulch Campground Reviews
Office was very friendly and helpful. Staff around the part were also very friendly and helpful. Overall cleanliness of the campground was very well maintained. Cabins we cozy and not too cramped. Would only recommend one family of 4 for a basic cabin.
Apr 20, 2025 · Dan HasslerMy family has an annual vacation weekend at Spring Gulch going on over a decade. The resort facilities are never pristine but they are usually at least satisfactory. While staying in a park model unit #1409, we had a bedbug infestation which forced our family to leave and have to book a hotel in the middle of the night. We had to dispose of almost all our belongings we packed with us. The staff was sympathetic however we were told a history of bitten guests several weeks prior in the same unit. We were refunded for the weekend but no effort was made by the company to make up for the incident, which I am disappointed about considering we have a long history with the resort and were inconvenienced so greatly.
Oct 28, 2024 · Jordan RosalieI am a seasonal camper here we keep our camper here all year round. I have absolutely nothing but awesome things to say about the staff and the campground. The office staff go above and beyond to make u feel welcome it’s almost like family. The maintenance team keeps the campground running extremely smoothly and everything is so clean. The pools r nice and warm. Always plenty of fun activities for kids and adults. Live shows, mini golf , and arcade. Mini golf course could use some improvement but it’s nothing too bad. Plenty of spaces to walk around and exercise. We will be coming here for years to come .
Sep 26, 2024 · Big web 45We went during the Halloween Haunted House week. The haunted maze was really good. My kids didn't make it to the house, so I don't know personally, but our friends said the haunted house was great. Overall a very nice place with nice staff.
Oct 20, 2024 · Kelly FillingerWhat did you guys do all winter? Mini golf course is in complete disrepair. This is just one of the 18 holes. Not a single one is in good condition.
