Country Acres Campground Introduce
For local residents exploring "camping near me" in the Lancaster County area of Pennsylvania, Country Acres Campground, situated at 20 Leven Rd, Gordonville, PA 17529, presents a well-maintained option with a range of appealing amenities. Known for its exceptionally clean facilities and attractive grounds, Country Acres Campground offers a comfortable base for exploring the surrounding Amish countryside and attractions. While its proximity to a major highway introduces some noise, the campground's positive attributes make it a noteworthy consideration for your next local camping adventure.
One of the standout features of Country Acres Campground, consistently praised by visitors, is the quality of its bathhouses. Described as "great" and the "cleanest restrooms of any campground I've ever stayed," these facilities indicate a strong commitment to hygiene and guest comfort. Clean and well-maintained restrooms and showers are often a top priority for campers, and Country Acres Campground appears to excel in this area, providing a pleasant and sanitary experience for its guests.
The grounds of Country Acres Campground are also meticulously maintained and in "perfect shape." This attention to landscaping and overall cleanliness creates an aesthetically pleasing environment and contributes to a more enjoyable camping experience. The absence of litter further underscores the campground's dedication to maintaining a tidy and attractive setting for its visitors. Campers can appreciate the well-cared-for surroundings as they relax and enjoy their stay.
For families with children, Country Acres Campground offers an "excellent playground." This amenity provides a dedicated space for kids to play and burn off energy, making it a valuable feature for those traveling with young ones. The presence of a well-maintained playground can significantly enhance the family camping experience, providing entertainment and allowing parents to relax while their children are engaged in safe and fun activities.
In addition to the playground, the campground also boasts a "picnic pavilion," offering a covered area for outdoor dining and gatherings. This can be particularly useful for larger groups or during inclement weather, providing a comfortable space to enjoy meals and socialize. The inclusion of a picnic pavilion adds to the campground's appeal as a family-friendly destination.
A unique amenity at Country Acres Campground is a "pickleball court (with single hoop basketball)." This provides an opportunity for guests to engage in recreational sports, catering to different interests and age groups. Pickleball has become increasingly popular, and the availability of a court allows campers to enjoy this fun and active game. The addition of a basketball hoop further broadens the recreational options available at the campground.
The ground surface within the campground is primarily "all gravel (but well packed)." While this provides good drainage and helps to maintain the grounds, it's noted that "scooter riding is definitely out," and the terrain is "a little bit hilly for kids on single speed bikes." Families with young children who enjoy scootering or biking should take this into consideration when planning their stay.
Connectivity is also a feature at Country Acres Campground, with "pretty good" Wi-Fi reported by a visitor. They were even able to use Roku on two TVs simultaneously, indicating a reliable internet connection capable of supporting streaming services. In today's digital age, good Wi-Fi can be a significant amenity for many campers, allowing them to stay connected, stream entertainment, or even work remotely if needed.
The staff at Country Acres Campground are described as "friendly," contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly staff can enhance the overall guest experience by providing helpful information and assistance. The fact that the "facilities are in excellent state of repair" further reflects the campground's commitment to providing a comfortable and well-maintained environment for its visitors.
Despite the numerous positive aspects, one reviewer noted a significant drawback: noise from "18 wheelers barreling down 30 all day and all night." The campground's proximity to Route 30, a major highway, results in "big rig noise pollution," which some visitors may find disruptive, particularly those seeking a completely quiet natural setting. This noise sometimes required pausing conversations around the campfire. Potential campers should be aware of this location-related issue when considering a stay at Country Acres Campground.
Considering its location in the heart of Lancaster County, Country Acres Campground offers convenient access to the region's many attractions, including Amish farmlands, markets, and cultural sites. While the immediate soundscape may be influenced by highway traffic, the campground itself provides a clean and well-equipped base for exploring the unique charm of the area. Local users looking for "camping near me" with excellent facilities and family-friendly amenities, and who are perhaps less sensitive to highway noise, will find Country Acres Campground to be a strong contender.

Country Acres Campground Reviews
Great bathhouses. Grounds are in perfect shape. It gets 3 stars because I all could hear was the 18 wheelers barreling down 30 all day and all night. Nothing says Amish country like big rig noise pollution! On occasion we had to pause conversation around the campfire to wait for trucks to pass.
Apr 23, 2025 · Brian WagnerCleanest restrooms of any campground I've ever stayed. Landscaping is excellent, no litter. Excellent playground, picnic pavillion and a pickleball court (with single hoop basketball). Pavement is all gravel (but well packed). Scooter riding is definitely out and a little bit hilly for kids on single speed bikes. Wifi is pretty good (we were able to use roku on two tvs simultaneously). Staff is friendly and facilities are in excellent state of repair.
Mar 29, 2025 · Bryan HughesThis Campground is probably the nicest, cleanest Campground I've been to in many years. The staff is awesome, polite, and dedicated. Everyone one there takes pride in the Campground. We were there in October and as soon as I got home I booked a trip for June 2025. We can't wait to go back. The location is so close to all kinds of activities.
Oct 18, 2024 · Rick WalterHad a great stay for a long Thanksgiving weekend. Weather could have cooperated alittle better, but hey that's camping. Hope to make some return trips in 2025 as 2024 camping season is complete. Sites were nice and had plenty of room for activities. Thankyou Country Acres.
Dec 01, 2024 · Mike DitzlerWe have been here a few times over the past 3 years. This uear we had an unexpected breakdown, while hit hing up at our campsite. We went to the office, and Kathy, the property manager, was absolutely USELESS. Her only concern was that the campground was full for that night, which was, and I quote, "Good for them." She did give us 2 names to call, but they were too busy to send assistance. She did not give one hoot about helping us to find another site for that evening. We will never camp there again. The views were great, the sites were great, but the customer service was HORRIBLE.
