The environment of Sunrise Campground is consistently praised for its natural beauty and serene atmosphere. One camper described it as a "beautiful campground," and another highlighted its quiet and peaceful ambiance for the second year in a row. The presence of "lots of trees for shade" is a significant advantage, especially during the warmer months, providing a comfortable and cool environment for campers to relax. The interplay of shade and "sunshine peaking through" creates a pleasant and varied lighting throughout the day. Campers also appreciate the temperature fluctuations, with warm days ideal for outdoor activities and cool nights perfect for enjoying campfires. It's worth noting that some online pictures might be misleading, as one reviewer pointed out that certain images are of a nearby lookout rather than the campground itself. Therefore, relying on descriptions and potentially seeking campground-specific photos would be advisable to get an accurate sense of the environment.
In terms of services, Sunrise Campground appears to prioritize the comfort and convenience of its guests. The hosts, Cara and Ivan (from previous years), are repeatedly mentioned for their exceptional service. This suggests a welcoming and helpful management presence, which can greatly enhance the camping experience. Essential amenities are also well-regarded, with "bathrooms always clean and stocked," even noting the use of "put toilets," which is a positive indicator of maintenance. For those planning campfires, "firewood is available for purchase at the camp," providing a convenient way to enjoy this quintessential camping activity without having to bring your own supply. The availability of firewood on-site also suggests that campfires are permitted and encouraged within designated areas.
The features of Sunrise Campground contribute to its appeal as a desirable "camping near me" destination. The campsites themselves are described as spacious, with one reviewer noting that spot 6 was "roomy enough for 2 6-person tents if you needed." This indicates that the sites offer ample space for larger groups or those who prefer more spread-out setups. The abundance of "trees for shade" is a significant feature, providing relief from the sun and creating a more comfortable camping environment. The clean and well-stocked bathrooms are another key feature that campers appreciate, highlighting the campground's commitment to hygiene and guest comfort. The availability of firewood for purchase adds to the convenience of camping at Sunrise Campground. Additionally, the reviews mention "magnificent views" accessible through walking or hiking around the area, suggesting that the campground is situated in a location with scenic beauty worth exploring. However, the first-come, first-served reservation policy is a notable feature that some campers find challenging, as it can make securing a spot, especially during peak seasons, difficult and uncertain.

Sunrise Campground Reviews
Cara is a great host and so glad she was here. We had some issues and she helped right away and fixed it all up for us. Beautiful campground. We had spot 6 and it was roomy enough for 2 6-person tents if you needed. Lots of trees for shade and bathrooms are always clean and stocked. Firewood is available for purchase at the camp. We will be back I just don't like that it First come first serve. Very hard to get a spot that way. Some of these pictures people posted are not of the campground, but of the lookout that is nearby.
Jul 15, 2024 · Candice GreenOur second year in a row at this beautiful campground, so quiet and peaceful, shady yet sunshine peaking through, warm in the daytime and cool at night, perfect for campfires! The host, Ivan, last year was warm and friendly with us, we were nice to him! Our host this year is also very nice and helpful. The bathrooms are kept very clean, especially being put toilets! The views are magnificent if you walk/hike around at all!
Jul 22, 2017 · Susan MattinsonWe had a blast staying here. The camp host was very nice, the campsites were clean and the area is beautiful. Close to a small trail, perfect for kids. Close to bear lake for water sports. It is close to a main road and you will get lots of noise from it.
Aug 03, 2020 · AHeartofMusic23This is one of my favorite places! We travel through there quiet often, and I have to say, the view is absolutely breathtaking. The sunrises are stunning and filled with the most beautiful colors.
Aug 03, 2016 · Georgia WingateI hate to share my experiences about this campground. Why? Because everyone will end up going there!Very spacious. Shady (2nd loop), we had squirrels, chipmunks, deer and other animals and bird life. They do have one water source next to the host site. No other hookups (dry camping). If Utah has a drought, they may not have water. KOA in Garden City will allow you to fill up at an added charge. We were here over the Labor Day weekend. Camp was full, but not over crowded. Must have reservations.Within a few minutes to Garden City and Bear Lake. Steep grade, take it slowly.Hardly saw the camp host. Restrooms are clean. Firewood is available ($9 per bundle for 2024).Road and site spurs are paved. Some, you have to drive opposite of the direction of traffic to get in to.We’ve been to this campground several times. It’s one of our favorites.
