Swift Lake Park Introduce
For local residents in the Tracy, Minnesota area searching for "camping near me," Swift Lake Park, located at 1342 County Rd 11, Tracy, MN 56175, offers a potentially serene and spacious camping experience on the outskirts of town. You can reach them at (507) 629-5528 or +1 507-629-5528 for any inquiries. Based on the available customer reviews, Swift Lake Park presents a mixed picture of tranquility and natural beauty alongside some concerns regarding amenities.
The "environment" of Swift Lake Park is consistently praised for its peaceful and scenic qualities. One reviewer describes it as a "very quiet and beautiful park nestled on the outskirts of Tracy." The campsites are noted for their privacy, attributed to "lots of trees" providing natural separation and shade. Additionally, the sites offer a "lot of grassy area to spread out," suggesting ample space for various camping setups and outdoor activities around the individual sites. The fact that the campsites are "very level" is a practical advantage for setting up tents and parking RVs. While the presence of a lake is implied by the park's name, the reviews don't explicitly detail its accessibility or features, though it's reasonable to assume it contributes to the park's beauty and potential for lakeside activities.
In terms of "services," Swift Lake Park offers electric hookups at the campsites, with a reported cost of $20 per night for this service. It operates on a "self-registration/first-come-first-served" basis, and payment is "cash only," which are important practical considerations for potential visitors. The park provides a dump station on-site, which is a valuable amenity for RV campers. However, a significant limitation is the lack of potable water available at the campground, meaning campers must bring their own drinking water. Reviews offer conflicting information regarding the restroom facilities. One reviewer described the bathrooms and a shower as "very dated, dirty, and need a lot of work." In contrast, another reviewer mentioned "very updated and clean" bathrooms. This discrepancy suggests that the condition of the restrooms might vary or that there may be different restroom facilities within the park. The presence of a "very spacious shelter for gatherings" with "multiple picnic tables" (estimated at 10-12) is a notable service, providing a covered area for group meals and activities. A "little playground" is also available for children.
The "features" of Swift Lake Park include its quiet and private campsites, making it ideal for those seeking a peaceful camping experience. The level sites enhance convenience for setup. The availability of electric hookups caters to RVs and campers needing power. The on-site dump station is another significant feature for RV travelers. The spacious shelter with picnic tables provides a valuable space for group gatherings, making the park suitable for family reunions or group outings. The presence of a playground adds to the park's appeal for families with young children. The clear directions to the location in case of injury, mentioned by one reviewer, indicate a thoughtful approach to safety and visitor information.
Considering the "camping near me" platform category, Swift Lake Park offers a local option with a focus on a quiet and spacious camping environment. The availability of electric hookups and a dump station makes it suitable for RV campers, while the private, grassy sites appeal to tent campers as well. The presence of a shelter and playground broadens its appeal to groups and families. However, local users must be aware of the self-registration and cash-only payment policy, the lack of potable water, and the conflicting reports regarding the cleanliness and condition of the restroom facilities. It would be prudent to inquire about the current status of the restrooms before planning a visit.
In terms of "promotional information" that can be objectively derived from the reviews, a balanced approach is necessary. Potential promotional points could include: "Discover the tranquility of Swift Lake Park near Tracy, MN! The availability of electric hookups is a plus for those needing power, and the dump station is convenient for RV owners. The shelter and playground make it a potential destination for family outings and group events. However, the need to bring their own drinking water is a crucial consideration. Local users might want to call ahead to get the most up-to-date information on the restroom facilities to ensure they meet their standards.
The contrasting reviews on the restrooms highlight the importance of seeking current information. It's possible that improvements have been made or that certain restroom facilities are in better condition than others. Local users might also want to inquire about the lake itself – its accessibility from the campground, any recreational activities permitted (e.g., fishing, non-motorized boating), and its overall appeal as a feature of the park.
In conclusion, Swift Lake Park near Tracy, MN, offers a quiet and spacious local "camping near me" option with private, level campsites and electric hookups. Its features include a dump station, a large shelter for gatherings, and a playground. Jun 28, 2024 · Aimee OlsonWell kept and clean. Clear directions to location incase of injury which I thought was brilliant. Many places do not add this in their locations. Very spacious shelter for gatherings- multiple picnic tables. Cant remember for sure but I would say 10-12 in the shelter. Bathrooms were very updated and clean. A little playground for people to use as well
Aug 26, 2024 · Shelby SoupirThis place is the secret lake everyone is always searching for. I never thought it would be just in my backyard. I've been able to catch so many different species of fish here. Plus, they have a decent campground here to.

Aug 09, 2022 · Claudia McevoyThis was my first visit to Swift Lake Campground. What a nice quiet place! Sites are well maintained. The lake is a nice little pond, with geese and a pelican swimming around. There's a small playground for younger kids. The shower house is no frills, but serves it's purpose. I'll definitely be back!
