A Beautiful and Well-Maintained Environment: Riverside Views and Mountain Scenery
The environment surrounding The Blue Canoe RV Resort is consistently praised for its beauty and meticulous upkeep. Situated directly on the river, the campground offers guests the opportunity to enjoy waterfront views and the tranquil sounds of flowing water. The campsites are also oriented to provide scenic views of the surrounding mountains, creating a truly picturesque backdrop for your camping experience. One long-term visitor, who stayed through the autumn months, highlighted the "magnificent" leaf change, experiencing the transition from warm fall days to a snowy winter landscape, all while enjoying the stunning views of the river and the mountains. This suggests that The Blue Canoe RV Resort offers a visually captivating environment throughout the changing seasons, making it an appealing destination year-round.
The fact that the grounds are described as "beautiful and well maintained" speaks to the care and attention the resort dedicates to ensuring a pleasant and aesthetically pleasing environment for its guests. This likely includes well-kept landscaping, clean and organized campsites, and an overall sense of pride in the property.
Exceptional Services and Amenities for a Comfortable Stay
The Blue Canoe RV Resort goes above and beyond in providing services and amenities that cater to the comfort and convenience of its guests. The reviews specifically highlight the cleanliness of the public restrooms, which are described as "so clean for being public restrooms," setting a high standard for hygiene and guest satisfaction. For longer stays or those in need of laundry facilities, the resort offers a "24-hour laundry" that is conveniently located next to the office and described as "clean."
The presence of a well-stocked "camp store" on-site is another significant convenience, offering essentials and treats such as "fantastic ice cream" and a variety of food options including "pizza, sandwiches, fries, etc." This eliminates the need for frequent trips into town for basic necessities or a quick meal. For RV travelers, the availability of "propane filled on site and delivered back to your camper" is a valuable service that adds to the ease and convenience of staying at the resort.
Connectivity is also addressed, as "Wi-Fi is included" for guests, allowing them to stay connected if needed. Furthermore, for those traveling without their own accommodation, the resort offers "cabin" rentals, as mentioned by a reviewer whose employee was comfortably housed in one. This provides a flexible option for those who prefer a more structured shelter than a tent.
Outstanding Features: Trail Access and Exceptional Hospitality
One of the standout features of The Blue Canoe RV Resort is its direct access to a bike trail, which "runs directly through the campground" and is described as "great for taking walks!" This provides immediate opportunities for outdoor recreation, whether you're a cyclist looking to explore the scenic trails of the region or simply enjoy a leisurely walk in a beautiful setting. Given its location in Connellsville, PA, this bike trail is very likely a section of the renowned Great Allegheny Passage (GAP), offering access to miles of scenic and historic trail for walking, running, and biking.
However, the most consistently praised feature of The Blue Canoe RV Resort is its exceptional staff. This emphasis on genuine hospitality creates a welcoming and positive atmosphere that encourages guests to return. The staff's willingness to go the extra mile to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay truly sets this RV resort apart.

The Blue Canoe RV Resort Reviews
First time camping here. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The restrooms were so clean for being public restrooms. The pizza was great. We can’t say enough good things about the wonderful staff. They really made us feel welcome. Everyone camping was so nice and respectful. I can’t wait to go back next year.
Oct 14, 2024 · Marcia PrinkeyBlue Canoe is THE Place to stay. We camped for almost two months while working in Connellsville. One of our employees did not have a trailer, he was accommodated with a cabin! Our stay included October and November, in turn we experienced the picturesque season change from fall with 80 degree days to snow and below freezing when we departed. With the campground directly on the river and the sites looking at the mountain, the leaf change was magnificent. At all times, the staff is so friendly and helpful. The 24-hour laundry is clean and right next to the office, and camp store which has fantastic ice cream and serves pizza, sandwiches, fries, etc. Propane is filled on site and delivered back to your camper. Wi-Fi is included. The bike trail runs directly through the campground is great for taking walks! Thank you to Terry and all the staff for a wonderful stay!
Nov 22, 2024 · Pamela KinzlerThis campground is an absolute gem! Offering an incredible array of activities, impeccable facilities, and exceptional service, it's no wonder we loved our stay. The campground itself is beautifully maintained, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. From the refreshing pools to the exciting river adventures, there's something for everyone. The Allegheny Passage bike path is a fantastic addition, and the option to rent bikes or kayaks made exploring the area effortlessly. We were particularly impressed by the convenience of the golf cart rentals and the on-site cafe that delivered right to our campsite. Even the simple things like firewood delivery and a well-stocked camp store added to the overall experience. The adult pool was a true oasis of tranquility. We loved being able to relax and swim without the hustle and bustle of kids. That said, the campground also offers a fantastic pool specifically designed for families.Located just an hour outside of Pittsburgh, this campground feels like a secluded retreat. It's one of the best we've stayed at, hands down! Almost forgot pet-friendly 🐶🐶 and very good wifi something you usually don't get camping! 😉
Aug 05, 2024 · Jane VoloshinStayed here in our class C RV 10.13.2024 to 10.16.2024 and loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful - we had trouble with one of our tires the evening before our planned departure and they sent someone over the next am. The grounds were decorated for Halloween and this made for entertaining walks. The campground is located on Youghiogheny River and the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail making this an excellent spot for just sitting or walking/biking. We had FHU and a level site in view of the river. The campstore also sells prepared food - a real plus as we don't tow a vehicle.negative- the train tracks are just across the Youghiogheny River and they are very active at night
Nov 10, 2024 · Brenda HaganWe've been coming to this campground for 10+ years. It recently came under new ownership and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the improvements. Many sites now how level concrete patios, the new pool and hot tub are wonderful, and the Cafe food (particularly breakfast) is AMAZING. We were big fans of being able to text our food orders for pickup or delivery right to our site, as well as just putting items on a tab linked to our site so we didn't need to carry money or cards with us when visiting the pool. The mining sluice was a big hit for our toddler. Could use some updated shower rooms, but that's not really a complaint, just a suggestion as the current ones are just fine for what they are. We look forward to our annual visit for years to come!
