Skip and the whole group that stay out there for the season are great. They are very welcoming and kind. We had a wonderful time swimming, the potluck was nice, and the drag show was a great way to end the night. We were sad to leave. We hope to visit again for Halloween 🎃. - B S/W

Vermont Freedom Campground Introduce

For local users searching for "camping near me" in Vermont, Vermont Freedom Campground, located at 218 Tousant Hill Rd, Greensboro Bend, VT 05842, offers a unique and welcoming camping experience. You can reach them at (802) 274-3091 or +1 802-274-3091 for inquiries and reservations. Based on recent customer feedback available online, this campground appears to foster a strong sense of community and offers several appealing amenities.

One reviewer enthusiastically described their experience, highlighting the welcoming and kind nature of Skip and the seasonal campers. This suggests a friendly and inclusive atmosphere where newcomers are readily embraced by the existing community. The reviewer mentioned enjoying swimming, participating in a potluck, and attending a drag show, indicating a vibrant and diverse range of social activities within the campground. Their sadness upon leaving and their hope to return for Halloween suggest a positive and memorable stay, potentially indicating themed events or a festive spirit during certain times of the year.

Another recent visitor echoed the positive sentiment, expressing love for the "atmosphere, friendly people, and good vibes of the whole place." This reinforces the idea of a welcoming and community-oriented environment. This reviewer specifically praised the "beautiful hot tubs" and the "heated above ground pool," highlighting these as key amenities that enhance the camping experience. They also noted the campground's flexible nature, describing it as a place where you "make what you will of the place," and emphasized the welcoming nature of the seasonal campers. Their intention to return during the summer suggests that the campground may offer a different, perhaps more lively, experience during peak season.

Beyond the campground itself, its location offers proximity to local attractions. Hardwick, VT, is mentioned as being approximately 13 minutes away and is described as "really cute." The reviewer enjoyed a coffee shop there and noted the presence of a recreational marijuana shop, as well as the general "small town cuteness" of Hardwick. This suggests that campers at Vermont Freedom Campground have easy access to local amenities and the charm of a nearby Vermont town.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is highlighted as a great option for biking, with convenient parking near the Cabot Creamery (located at 323 VT-15, Hardwick, VT). This provides an opportunity for scenic bike rides and a visit to a well-known local creamery, further enhancing the appeal of the campground's location for those interested in exploring the surrounding area.

While the reviews are overwhelmingly positive regarding the community and some of the amenities, one piece of constructive feedback suggests a potential area for improvement. A reviewer noted that it "would be nice to see a sunbathing area by the pool, or nice place to hangout by the pool." They pointed out that currently, the pool area might not be as enjoyable for those who are not actively swimming. This suggests that while the heated pool is a significant draw, the surrounding area could benefit from additional features that allow for relaxation and socializing outside of the water.

Based on these reviews, Vermont Freedom Campground appears to offer a unique blend of a welcoming and inclusive community atmosphere with appealing amenities like hot tubs and a heated pool. The seasonal campers seem to play a significant role in creating this friendly vibe. The campground's location also provides convenient access to the charming town of Hardwick and recreational opportunities like the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.

For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that goes beyond just a place to set up camp, Vermont Freedom Campground seems to offer a social and engaging environment. The emphasis on community events like potlucks and drag shows suggests a lively and accepting atmosphere. The availability of hot tubs and a heated pool adds a touch of luxury and relaxation to the camping experience.

The proximity to Hardwick expands the possibilities for local exploration, offering access to coffee shops, local culture, and even recreational dispensaries. The easy access to the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail caters to those interested in biking and enjoying the scenic Vermont landscape. The suggestion for a dedicated sunbathing or lounging area by the pool indicates a potential area for future development that could further enhance the guest experience.

While the provided reviews do not explicitly mention specific services like laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or the types of campsites available (e.g., tent, RV), the focus on the community and recreational aspects suggests that these might be secondary to the overall social experience. Local users with specific needs regarding these services should inquire directly with the campground.

Similarly, there is no specific promotional information available in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any potential discounts for Vermont residents, seasonal rates, or special offers for events like the Halloween gathering mentioned in one review should contact Vermont Freedom Campground directly at the provided phone numbers.

In conclusion, Vermont Freedom Campground appears to be a welcoming and community-oriented camping destination in Greensboro Bend, VT. Its friendly atmosphere, coupled with amenities like hot tubs and a heated pool, and its proximity to local attractions in Hardwick and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, make it an appealing option for local users seeking a unique "camping near me" experience. While one reviewer suggested an improvement to the pool area, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the welcoming nature of the community and the enjoyable amenities offered.
