Blue Ox RV Park Introduce
Located at 4000 Blue Ox Dr SE in Albany, Oregon, Blue Ox RV Park is listed within the "RV parks near me" category, offering a convenient option for travelers seeking short-term or potentially longer stays in the Albany area. Based on the available customer reviews, Blue Ox RV Park presents a mixed picture, with notable strengths in hospitality and cleanliness, but also some significant drawbacks that prospective visitors should consider.
One of the most consistently praised aspects of Blue Ox RV Park is the welcoming and friendly demeanor of the staff, particularly Tina, who made one short-term visitor feel immediately at home. This personal touch and the genuine hospitality extended to guests can significantly enhance the overall experience of staying at an RV park, especially for those who are new to the area or just passing through. The review highlights a sense of inclusivity, where even short-term guests are made to feel like part of the community.
Cleanliness is another area where Blue Ox RV Park receives high marks. The bathrooms are specifically mentioned as being exceptionally clean, which is a crucial factor for many travelers relying on park facilities. Maintaining clean and well-kept restrooms reflects a commitment to guest comfort and hygiene.
The park also offers amenities such as a "lovely rec-room," providing a space for guests to relax, socialize, or engage in recreational activities. The presence of a rec room can be particularly valuable during inclement weather or for those seeking a communal area outside of their RV.
However, the reviews also point out some significant downsides that could impact the stay of certain visitors. One major concern is the park's policy regarding smoking. Blue Ox RV Park reportedly allows smoking anywhere within the park premises. This policy can be highly problematic for non-smokers or individuals with respiratory sensitivities, as they may be subjected to secondhand smoke from neighboring RVs, potentially preventing them from enjoying fresh air or keeping their windows open.
Adding to potential air quality issues, one reviewer noted smelling marijuana despite the park's alleged prohibition of it. This suggests a possible lack of enforcement of certain rules and could be a concern for guests sensitive to such odors.
Another significant drawback highlighted in the reviews is the noise level, particularly on weekend mornings. One guest described a disruptive experience caused by the maintenance staff using a weed whacker for edging, which flung dust, debris, and rocks onto their RV. This was followed by the use of a blower, resulting in hours of "extremely noisy" conditions on a Saturday morning. Such disturbances can detract significantly from the peace and quiet that many RV travelers seek.
The size of the RV spots at Blue Ox RV Park is also a point of concern. One reviewer described the spots as "small" and creating a feeling of being "in a can of sardines." This suggests that guests might experience limited space between RVs, potentially impacting privacy and maneuverability within their site.
Despite these drawbacks, the second reviewer did acknowledge some positives, reiterating that the people in the park are friendly and that the amenities seem nice and clean. This aligns with the first reviewer's positive comments about the staff and cleanliness. The reviewer also noted that the park next door is "lovely and huge," which might be a point of comparison for those seeking more spacious surroundings.
In summary, Blue Ox RV Park in Albany, Oregon, offers a friendly and clean environment with a welcoming staff and a rec room for guests to enjoy. However, prospective visitors should be aware of the park's policy of allowing smoking anywhere, potential noise issues from maintenance activities, and the reportedly small size of the RV spots. The smell of marijuana, despite a supposed ban, is also a factor to consider.
Key positive aspects of Blue Ox RV Park include:
- Friendly and Welcoming Staff: Particularly Tina, who is mentioned for excellent hospitality.
- Clean Facilities: Bathrooms are noted as being exceptionally clean.
- Rec Room: Provides a communal space for relaxation and activities.
- Friendly People: A sense of community and friendliness among guests.
- Seemingly Nice Amenities: While not detailed, amenities are described as nice.
Potential negative aspects to consider:
- Smoking Allowed Anywhere: A significant concern for non-smokers.
- Marijuana Odor: Despite a possible ban, the smell may be present.
- Noise Issues: Particularly from maintenance activities on weekend mornings.
- Small RV Spots: Potentially leading to a cramped feeling and limited space.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Albany, Oregon, Blue Ox RV Park offers a location with positive feedback regarding hospitality and cleanliness. However, the park's smoking policy and potential for noise and cramped spaces are important factors that might make it less suitable for some travelers. Individuals sensitive to smoke or noise, or those traveling in larger RVs who prefer more spacious sites, may want to weigh these drawbacks carefully against the positive aspects of the park.
Prospective visitors are encouraged to contact Blue Ox RV Park directly at (541) 926-2886 or +1 541-926-2886 to inquire about their current policies on smoking and marijuana, the typical size of their RV spots, and their maintenance schedules to better understand if this park meets their specific needs and preferences. While the friendly atmosphere and cleanliness are appealing, the potential downsides regarding air quality and space should be considered before making a reservation.

Blue Ox RV Park Reviews
This is such a nice little place. We were going to boondock but needed showers desperately. Tina made us feel so welcome. The bathrooms have to be the cleanest we have seen. They made us feel like we were part of their long time folks even though we will be here only two nights. They have a lovely rec-room. I would definitely come back.
Apr 20, 2025 · cindy fordThey allow smoking anywhere in the park. So if you have a neighbor who chain smokes you cannot open your window. They don’t allow marijuana but you smell it anyway. The maintenance guy used a weed whacker to do edging and it flung dust, debris, rocks onto our RV. Between the weed whacker and the blower, it was extremely noisy on a Saturday morning for hours. The spots are small and feels like you’re in a can of sardines. The pros is that people are friendly and seems to have nice amenities, everything seems clean. The park next door is lovely and huge.
May 03, 2025 · Alicia NicholeThis is not your usual RV Park. There are two sets of laundry facilities as well as three sets of shower facilities and a full swimming pool there are trash dumpsters within easy walking distance to all spaces. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful and the location is peaceful and quiet. When you're looking to stop somewhere for the night I would definitely recommend the Blue Ox RV Park.
Nov 01, 2024 · Robert PickettSo far, so good, Amy (manager) has been very nice to work with. She communicates well, and with the help of the rest of the staff, she keeps the park neat and tidy. I highly recommend this park for both people passing through and for longer stays. It's now October, the leaves are starting to fall, and I still only have good things to say about this park and the management team.
Oct 20, 2024 · Michael J SwirbulThis is a very nice park and reasonably priced we had a nice level pull thru. The restrooms are impressively clean. They have a pet area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
