Welcome to Capital Storage and Campground, located at 306 Pullman Rd, Pennsboro, WV 26415, USA. For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Pennsboro area or needing storage solutions, Capital Storage and Campground offers a location with certain advantages and a recent change in management that has elicited varied feedback. You can contact the facility at (304) 871-7867 or +1 304-871-7867 for inquiries.
As a platform connecting users with "RV parks near me," Capital Storage and Campground presents itself as an option in West Virginia with some notable features. One positive aspect highlighted in a review is the availability of "Wifi" and "Excellent cell service," the latter being described as "a rarity in this area." In today's connected world, reliable internet and cell service are often crucial for RV travelers, whether for work, communication, or entertainment. The presence of both at Capital Storage and Campground could be a significant advantage for those who prioritize staying connected while on the road.
The review also mentions the type of RV sites available, noting that "Most sites are gravel and a few are concrete." This information is helpful for RV owners as it provides insight into the ground surface they can expect for their parking area. Both gravel and concrete have their benefits, with concrete often offering a more level and stable surface, while gravel can be more common and cost-effective for campgrounds.
Furthermore, the location of Capital Storage and Campground is described as "Great" due to its proximity to essential services. Gas stations, grocery stores, and auto service facilities are reportedly within a 10-minute drive. The campground is also conveniently situated "pretty much midway between Parkersburg and Clarksburg," making it a potentially strategic stopover for those traveling between these two larger cities in West Virginia.
However, it is essential to consider a contrasting and concerning review regarding a recent change in ownership. This reviewer states that since the "new owners took over," the experience has "went downhill from there." They describe a sense of being overly watched and questioned, leading them to move their camper out after only one month under the new management. The reviewer also notes a significant decrease in occupancy, from a "full" lot to being "down to 1 camper," which could indicate a broader dissatisfaction among previous occupants.
A specific incident mentioned in the negative review involves the new owners allegedly knocking on the camper door to question the reviewer's son about fixing TVs inside the camper. This level of scrutiny and intervention in seemingly innocuous activities could be off-putting to RV travelers who value their privacy and independence. The reviewer strongly advises others looking for a lot to "look elsewhere" based on their negative experience.
Considering these two reviews together paints a somewhat complex picture of Capital Storage and Campground. On the one hand, it offers practical amenities such as wifi and excellent cell service, a variety of site surfaces (gravel and concrete), and a convenient location near essential services and major roadways. These features could make it an attractive option for RVers passing through or seeking a base in the region.
On the other hand, the negative review raises significant concerns about the management style under the new ownership. The reported feeling of being watched and questioned, along with the apparent exodus of other campers, suggests potential issues with the overall atmosphere and resident experience. This is a crucial factor for those considering a longer-term RV stay or potentially storing their RV at this location.
As Capital Storage and Campground includes "Storage" in its name, it likely offers storage units in addition to RV sites. This could be a convenient option for local residents needing storage solutions or for RV owners looking for a place to store their vehicles when not in use. However, the reviews provided do not offer any specific feedback on the storage facilities or services.
For individuals specifically searching for "RV parks near me" in the Pennsboro, West Virginia, area, Capital Storage and Campground presents a location with reported connectivity advantages and convenient access to services. However, the negative feedback regarding the new management's approach is a serious consideration that potential visitors should be aware of. It would be prudent to contact the campground directly to inquire about current policies, management practices, and to potentially get a sense of the atmosphere firsthand before making a reservation, especially for a longer stay.
In conclusion, Capital Storage and Campground offers a location in Pennsboro, WV, with the benefits of wifi, excellent cell service, and proximity to essential amenities and major routes. However, a recent change in ownership has been associated with a negative experience by at least one former camper, who reported feeling overly scrutinized and noted a significant decline in occupancy. For those considering this location as one of the "RV parks near me," it is strongly recommended to weigh the reported advantages against the potential management concerns and to contact the facility directly for the most current information and to assess whether it meets their individual needs and expectations. Further investigation and potentially seeking recent feedback from other campers might also be beneficial.

Capital Storage and Campground Reviews
The new owners took over and it went downhill from there. They watch your every move and question your every move. Moved our camper out after 1 month of them taking over. The lot was full until they took over now it’s down to 1 camper. They even knocked on the camper door asking my son what he was doing (he was fixing the TVs for me in the camper). I’d look elsewhere if you are someone looking for a lot.
