Caribou RV Park Introduce
For those traveling through Soda Springs, Idaho, and searching under the category of "RV parks near me" for a place to stop, Caribou RV Park, located at 555 E Hooper Ave, Soda Springs, ID 83276, offers a basic, no-frills option for parking overnight. However, based on the available customer reviews, there are several important factors to consider regarding the park's location, site layout, and maintenance.
One reviewer noted that "the site itself is alright," suggesting that the individual parking spaces are adequate for their needs. However, they immediately pointed out a significant drawback: the "location is noisy with a surprising amount of traffic (and a train track)." This is a crucial consideration for travelers sensitive to noise, as the proximity to both road traffic and a railway line could lead to disturbances throughout the day and night. If a quiet and peaceful environment is a priority, the noise level at Caribou RV Park might be a significant issue.
This same reviewer also highlighted the configuration of the RV sites, mentioning that they are "back in (not pull through)." This can be less convenient for some RVers, particularly those with larger rigs or less experience maneuvering in reverse. Additionally, they noted an inconvenience with the utility hookups, stating that the "RV hookups (water, electricity etc) are on the opposite of our RV hookups." This misalignment led to a practical problem, as their "hose was 4 inches too short!" This experience underscores the importance of being prepared with extra-long hoses and potentially extension cords to accommodate less-than-ideal hookup placements.
Another reviewer echoed the sentiment that Caribou RV Park is suitable for a basic overnight stay, describing it as "an overnight, no frills place to park." This reinforces the idea that the park offers the essentials but may lack additional amenities or a more refined environment. They also commented on the utility hookups, stating they "are there, but not user friendly," and reiterated the need for a long hose, advising to have "at least two sections, for both the fresh water, and dump." This suggests that the distance to the hookups can be considerable or that the placement requires extra length for comfortable connections.
Furthermore, this second reviewer raised concerns about the park's maintenance, noting that "Management had not been out there for some time, lots of weeds and dead grass." This indicates a potential lack of regular upkeep, which could affect the aesthetic appeal of the park and possibly contribute to other issues. The presence of weeds and dead grass might also suggest that the grounds are not well cared for.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Caribou RV Park is characterized by a noisy location due to traffic and a nearby train track. While the individual sites might be acceptable, the overall ambiance could be affected by the constant noise. The park also appears to suffer from a lack of recent maintenance, with mentions of weeds and dead grass.
The services and features seem to be limited to basic utility hookups (water, electricity, and presumably sewer, given the mention of a dump hose). However, the placement of these hookups is reported to be inconvenient, potentially requiring extra-long hoses and extension cords. The sites are back-in, which might not be ideal for all RVers. There is no mention of other common RV park amenities such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or recreational areas.
From a promotional standpoint, the park could be marketed as a budget-friendly option for a basic overnight stay with full hookups available. The "no frills" description suggests a focus on functionality over extensive amenities. However, the noise issue and the inconvenient hookups are significant drawbacks that would need to be considered by potential guests. The lack of recent management presence and the resulting poor maintenance are also not positive selling points.
For travelers searching under "RV parks near me" in the Soda Springs area, Caribou RV Park appears to be a utilitarian option primarily suited for a brief overnight stop where basic hookups are needed. However, the noisy location and the challenges with the utility hookups are important caveats. Anyone considering this park should be prepared for these potential inconveniences and ensure they have adequate supplies, such as extra-long hoses, to manage the hookup situation.
Given the reports of limited management presence and poor maintenance, it would be advisable for potential guests to contact Caribou RV Park directly at (208) 547-3377 or +1 208-547-3377 to inquire about the current conditions, site availability, and any specific instructions or recommendations regarding hookups. Asking about the level of noise at different times of the day and night might also help travelers decide if this location is suitable for their needs.
In conclusion, Caribou RV Park in Soda Springs, ID, offers basic overnight parking with utility hookups at an unspecified price. However, potential guests should be aware of the reported noisy location due to traffic and a train track, the back-in-only sites, the inconvenient placement of utility hookups requiring long hoses, and the apparent lack of recent maintenance leading to weeds and dead grass. It is best suited for travelers prioritizing basic functionality for a short stop and who are prepared for these potential drawbacks.

Caribou RV Park Reviews
Well, the site itself is alright but the location is noisy with a surprising amount of traffic (and a train track). If this bothers you it will be an issue. Also, these site are back in (not pull through) and the RV hookups (water, electricity etc) are on the opposite of our RV hookups. Wouldn't you know that our hose was 4 inches too short!

Jun 30, 2022 · Shawna WilkeI didn't actually stay here and I'm not going to lie... I just figured out their Wi-Fi password and used it to download a couple of movies.Sorry for the abuse, but hey, free five star review I guess. I won't tell people the password though. :)
Sep 14, 2023 · Timothy GrundvigAs has been said, okay place for a night. Newly renovated? How? Not even a trash barrel that we could find. Weeds overgrown, dirt sites, hard to justify the price. Would be very muddy if rainy.

Jul 03, 2021 · Arlene KnoxDecent rv park, seems to be relatively busy most the time, so my guess would be its a good place. I myself haven't ever paid to have my camper there nor do I know anyone who has, thats why my remark is what it is.
