The environment at Featherstone RV Park is characterized by its setting in the beautiful Wisconsin Northwoods. The park is surrounded by a mix of trees and open spaces, providing a natural and serene atmosphere for campers. It is specifically advertised as "ATV-friendly camping right on the scenic Tuscobia State Trail," which is a major environmental draw. This direct trail access means riders can embark on their adventures directly from their campsite, minimizing travel time and maximizing outdoor enjoyment. The campground itself is noted for being "quiet," suggesting a peaceful retreat despite its active outdoor focus. The area around Birchwood, Wisconsin, is abundant with natural features, including numerous rivers and lakes, offering opportunities for fishing, boating, and swimming. At night, the relative absence of light pollution provides "an amazing view of the stars," enhancing the overall natural experience. The landscape offers a blend of wooded privacy and open areas, with ample privacy and spacious sites for campers to unwind and connect with nature. While the park is set in a natural environment, the flat terrain typical of the area ensures ease of access and maneuverability for RVs and ATVs.
Featherstone RV Park provides a range of services tailored to both RV and ATV enthusiasts. The park offers full hookup RV sites, which typically include connections for water, sewer, and electricity (30 or 50 amp), ensuring a comfortable stay for modern RVs. They also offer tent camping options and specific ATV camping arrangements. A significant service highlighted by reviews is the cleanliness of their facilities, with "bathrooms were clean along with the showers." This indicates a commitment to maintaining hygienic communal areas. Coin-operated showers are also provided. For ATV riders, a key service is the "direct access to several hundred miles of ATV trails" and the provision of "maps at each picnic table with directions to the trail." The park even offers "guided rides most weekends," allowing guests to explore the trails with experienced leaders. An "ATV Washing Station" is another convenient service for riders. Firewood is available for purchase and is noted as "reasonably priced." The owners, Rick and Gail, are often on-site and, according to one review, are "Nice and considerate owners," who "helped us find our campsite in the dark when we arrived after hours and offered a 50amp adapter when they saw our travel trailer." They also "stopped at our site the next morning to get us checked in, and brought firewood later in the day." This suggests a personalized and attentive approach to guest service. For reservations and inquiries, campers can contact Featherstone RV Park at (715) 354-3610 or +1 715-354-3610.
The features of Featherstone RV Park are largely centered around its identity as an ATV-friendly destination within a natural setting. The primary feature is its "direct access to several hundred miles of ATV trails," including the Tuscobia State Trail, which is a significant draw for off-road enthusiasts. This allows campers to "ride directly from the campground" to explore diverse destinations like the Blue Hills, Spider Loop, and various towns for lunch or picnics. The park also offers full hookup sites with sewer, water, electric, and fire rings at each site, providing essential comforts for RVers. "Camping Cabins" are available for those seeking a more rustic lodging option, sleeping four and providing an alternative to traditional tent or RV camping. The "quiet campground" environment ensures a peaceful stay, and the clear night skies offer "an amazing view of the stars." The presence of an "ATV Washing Station" is a practical feature for riders. The park also boasts a playground, making it family-friendly. While one review points to a negative experience regarding ATV trail guidance and communication with the owner, the consistent advertisement of ATV friendliness and the presence of trail maps are intended features. The overall impression is a campground designed for outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate both comfortable amenities and direct access to recreational activities, particularly ATV riding. It's important for visitors to ensure they understand local ATV regulations and designated routes to avoid issues, as local ordinances can vary and fines can be incurred for off-route riding. The general area around Birchwood offers various lakes and rivers for additional water-based recreation, complementing the ATV experience.
When searching for "RV Parks Near Me," Featherstone RV Park's promotional information heavily emphasizes its ATV-friendly nature and direct trail access. The park's website and online listings showcase its full hookup sites, clean facilities, and the expansive trail network. Current rates (as of available information) are around $35.00 per night for 30 or 50 amp sites (including tax) for two adults, with kids under 18 staying free, and an additional $5.00 per night for each extra adult. The availability of reasonably priced firewood is often highlighted. The park's promotion as a place to "find Great Friends At Featherstone RV Park" and enjoy "Great Trails In Featherstone Area" speaks to its community aspect and recreational opportunities. The guided ATV rides on weekends are a strong promotional feature for those who enjoy group excursions. However, it is crucial for potential visitors to consider all customer feedback to form a balanced view. While one review praises the "Nice and considerate owners" and positive services like help with campsite finding and firewood delivery, another details a significant negative experience involving owner interactions (berating comments about an occupation) and misleading information regarding ATV exits, leading to a sheriff's citation. This suggests a potential inconsistency in visitor experience, particularly concerning direct owner communication and explicit guidance on local ATV rules versus advertised "ATV friendly" routes. Therefore, while promotions emphasize the benefits of ATV access and amenities, prospective campers are strongly advised to confirm all details, including current trail regulations and specific entry/exit points for ATVs, directly with the park by calling (715) 354-3610 or +1 715-354-3610 before their arrival to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay. They should also inquire about the specific rules for ATV use within the park and surrounding areas to avoid any potential issues, as enforcement can be strict. Promotions might also feature the park's quiet environment and amazing stargazing opportunities as additional draws.

Featherstone RV Park Reviews
Here is an honest review. First the positives the bathrooms were clean along with the showers. Firewood was reasonably priced. Campground was quiet. Now the negatives, the first night of our arrival the owners Rick and Gail came to visit which started out nice until he found out my occupation and proceeded to berate and complain to me about the company I work for. I started to get a little hot because I'm on VACATION I left work. My wife sensed my blood boiling and tried to change the subject but this guy would not stop. Finally he left and we continued to enjoy our camp fire. Now keep in mind the campground is advertised as ATV friendly that's why we chose this one. Owner had maps at each picnic table with directions to the trail. I saw the trail when I drove in so didn't pay much attention to the map. BIG MISTAKE, while there were NO signs warning us, we went out the the wrong exit of the campground we quickly found out when the Sheriff pulled us over and gave us tickets. Sheriff told us the owner told him to patrol that area. Not sure if this was his retailtion for my comments the night before. I was told I will receive the citation in the mail I inquired to the price and was told around 230.00 the sheriff told us the town's don't like the ATVs. So while we enjoyed the trails we will take our money where it is wanted. We visited many stores, gas stations, and even a wine shop where we purchased many items supporting these small towns. But that was our last trip to this area.
Aug 27, 2019 · Chris WrightNice and considerate owners. They helped us find our campsite in the dark when we arrived after hours and offered a 50amp adapter when they saw our travel trailer. They stopped at our site the next morning to get us checked in, and brought firewood later in the day. The campsite is clean and quiet. The ATVs weren’t an issue at all. At night, you get an amazing view of the stars.
Jul 09, 2020 · Lou OchsStayed for 17 nights and really enjoyed our stay for bear hunting! Quiet and peaceful place. Owners are really nice. Found out they do have a shower house, and atv wash station (coin operated) for use.
Sep 21, 2023 · Carlee BerryWonderful quiet campground. The owner greeted us as we drove in and showed us our sight. The site was flat and nice and big. It's a quiet campground which is what we loved. Central location and access to the local ATV trails.ownees are super people and very helpful. We will definitely come back again. Ownerandcentral location for hitting the trails.
Sep 16, 2022 · Deb CWe will not be back. Though the campground is located near some great ATV trails, there are others just as convenient without owners that are overbearing and over opinionated. The husband should control his alcohol consumption and temper before he runs off all of his patrons. He is a little too old to be fighting but almost received a beating from our campground neighbor who he antagonized one too many times. It was a stressful stay at this campground. Thankfully we spent most of our time on the trails. 1 star for location.
