West Point Lodge & Resort Introduce
For those searching "RV Parks Near Me" with a desire for a scenic lakeside retreat in Spooner, Wisconsin, **West Point Lodge & Resort** offers a distinct experience. Located at 1150 W Point Rd, Spooner, WI 54801, USA, this establishment operates primarily as a seasonal RV campground and also features cabin rentals, situated on the beautiful Big McKenzie Lake. It's a destination that blends the charm of a lakeside resort with the practicalities of an RV park, though it's important to note its focus on seasonal rather than overnight RV camping.
The **environment** at West Point Lodge & Resort is a significant draw, described by visitors as a "quaint lakeside resort atmosphere." The prime location on Big McKenzie Lake provides stunning views, particularly at sunset, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and appreciating natural beauty. The resort boasts an impressive "1,300 feet of sand beach," offering ample space for swimming and enjoying the waterfront. This extensive beach area is a major asset, providing direct access to the lake for various water activities. Being on the lake, the atmosphere is generally peaceful and conducive to outdoor leisure, especially during the summer months. The ability to "sit on the deck and watch the sun set over the lake" is a highlight, emphasizing the serene and picturesque setting that seasonal campers can enjoy throughout their stay.
Regarding **services and features** for RV campers, West Point Lodge & Resort primarily caters to seasonal RV camping, welcoming "50 seasonal campers annually." This indicates a community-oriented environment where campers often return year after year. The RV sites are equipped with "water" and "electric" hookups, and all sites include "20, 30 & 50 amp service." Importantly, "all sites pay their own metered electric," providing transparency for usage. While there is "no dumping site on location," the resort "highly recommends signing up for the pumping services," which are available bi-weekly from May to September at an additional seasonal cost. This ensures convenient waste management for long-term residents. Sites vary in size, with most being "about 25' wide x 40' long," and structures like decks and storage are permitted with specific distancing rules from neighboring sites. The amenities available to campers include "full access to; beach, private boat launch, play set, picnic pavilions & shower house." The presence of "showers and flush toilets" within the shower house is a key comfort feature for campers. For those who enjoy boating, the "private boat launch" is a significant convenience, allowing easy access to Big McKenzie Lake for "swimming, fishing, and boating."
Beyond the RV sites themselves, the resort also offers cabin rentals, indicating a broader range of accommodation options. These cabins are typically "2 Bedrooms" and include amenities like a TV, catering to guests who prefer a more structured lodging experience. The resort features a "Fish House" and "Public & Private Docks," further enhancing the fishing opportunities. Additionally, West Point Lodge & Resort is "now on the ATV trail," making it an excellent base for ATV enthusiasts. Other recreational features include horseshoes, bean bag toss, a playground, and sand volleyball. A "Tiki Bar" is also available, open for holidays and events, adding a social element to the resort. However, it's crucial to acknowledge mixed reviews regarding the on-site bar and restaurant service. While one reviewer praised the "Exceptional food, very large entree portions" and "Delicious Walleye dinner," with a "nice and welcoming" bartender, another had a significantly negative experience, citing "terrible" bar service, cold pizza, unseasoned fries, and a lack of attentiveness. This suggests variability in the dining experience, which potential visitors should keep in mind.
In terms of **promotional information**, West Point Lodge & Resort actively promotes its "Seasonal Campground" availability, encouraging campers to inquire about spots for upcoming seasons. The resort emphasizes its beautiful lakeside setting on Big McKenzie Lake and the range of activities available, including swimming, fishing, boating, and ATV riding. The "Pets Welcome/Inquire" policy, with the stipulation that pets must be leashed and picked up after, is also a relevant detail for pet owners. They highlight the "quaint lakeside resort atmosphere" and the opportunity to "return during the summer to sit on the deck and watch the sun set over the lake." While they "no longer rent lodge rooms or offer overnight camping" for RVs, their focus is on providing a stable and enjoyable seasonal camping experience. The resort is open seasonally, with water services typically turned off from the end of September to May, although campers can still use their RVs during winter if a deposit for the following season is paid, which includes winter storage. For inquiries about seasonal site availability and pricing (e.g., $3,000+ metered electric for sites, $3,250+ metered electric for lake view sites, with a non-refundable deposit), interested parties are encouraged to call (715) 566-2457 or +1 715-566-2457. Given the seasonal nature and limited number of sites, early reservations and deposits are recommended for those looking for a long-term spot at this lakeside haven near Spooner, WI, offering a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

West Point Lodge & Resort Reviews
Quaint lakeside resort atmosphere. Exceptional food, very large entree portions. Delicious Walleye dinner. The bartender served us at our table and was so nice and welcoming. Look forward to returning during the summer to sit on the deck and watch the sun set over the lake.
Apr 29, 2018 · Loni WernerService in the bar was terrible. Fry's were not seasoned and did not come with the chipotle ranch like the menu said. Pizza was still cold. Cook asked if it was hot. I said no. He said had it in for 15 min. Now I know for next time. Great thanks. Don't offer to warm it up. Spent 1hr and 30 min there. Never got asked if we wanted another drink.
Jul 08, 2018 · C KGreat lakeside place with the friendliest service. My kids played at a lakeside playground while I played volleyball with some amazing strangers... loved it. I loved the broccoli cheese bites, and still definitely visit again. Good times had by all...I highly recommend!
Jun 08, 2018 · Stevi RoseNever been to a bar or restaurant with no wait staff. Called to see if they had fish fry and burgers, yep. Didn't think that meant we had to go to the bar ourselves everyone we wanted a beer or to order our own food. We sat at a table twiddling our thumbs for a half hour and no one ever came over or even felt like telling us we needed to order food or drinks at the bar. Thought it would be a good place to go eat on our anniversary based on reviews, we were wrong. Reviews must be from people for the campers/resort, not restaurant. Won't be back.
Apr 22, 2017 · Tara TylewskiFun place to stop on a road trip. Especially on a warm sunny day. Great people watching. Plus the setting in beautiful for watching all the water activity. Can’t address the food, have not ate there yet.
