Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Chesterton, Indiana area, Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park, located at 1 Canterbury Cir, presents a residential community primarily designed for manufactured homes. While its main focus is on long-term residents in manufactured housing, it is possible that some mobile home parks also accommodate RVs for extended stays. This introduction aims to provide local users with a detailed and objective overview of Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park based on the limited but strongly contrasting information available online, to assess its potential suitability for those seeking long-term RV living options.
Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park is situated in Chesterton, Indiana. One reviewer playfully notes the park's somewhat confusing location, suggesting it feels like it could be in either South Haven or Valparaiso, adding to its "mysterious layers." This might indicate a location that is somewhat on the border of these areas or perhaps has characteristics reminiscent of both. The same reviewer also describes the park as "clean" and highlights an "exceptionally beautiful children's playground." This suggests that the park may have some well-maintained communal areas. The presence of friendly residents and "random cats" is also mentioned, potentially contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for some.
However, a starkly contrasting and deeply concerning review presents a very negative picture of living at Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park. This lengthy and detailed account alleges numerous serious issues, including a persistent "boil effect" advisory and infrequent access to clean water for basic needs like bathing and cooking, with the quality of water allegedly being concealed from residents. The reviewer also claims that park owners disregard their own noise ordinance, and that management/owners are unresponsive to complaints, ranging from noise disturbances to serious safety concerns such as teenagers allegedly brandishing guns at the playground and violent neighbors. The review further mentions frequent road construction within the park, early morning mowing noise, and a community pool that is often closed in the summer due to vandalism and unsupervised children.
Adding to these significant concerns, the negative review describes instances of homes being damaged due to trailers being moved on frozen ground, with the park allegedly refusing to repair the resulting damage. The reviewer also mentions consistent yearly rent increases of $20-$30, leading to rents exceeding $1000 for what they describe as a "crappy trailer in a crappy neighborhood." This reviewer explicitly states that these are all personal experiences documented over five years of living in the park.
Considering the platform category "RV parks near me," the drastically different perspectives presented in the reviews make it challenging to determine the suitability of Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park for long-term RV stays. While one review offers a somewhat positive, albeit quirky, initial impression, the other review raises very serious concerns about safety, water quality, management responsiveness, noise levels, and overall living conditions. Dedicated RV parks typically prioritize the comfort and safety of their guests and often have more robust management and maintenance systems in place.
Features of Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park mentioned in the reviews include a children's playground, which is described as exceptionally beautiful. The presence of friendly residents and roaming cats is also noted by one reviewer. However, the detailed negative review paints a picture of numerous negative "features" or rather, significant drawbacks, such as unreliable water quality, disregard for noise ordinances, unresponsive management, safety issues, frequent construction, disruptive maintenance schedules, and a frequently closed community pool. Basic amenities expected in a residential community or RV park, such as reliable utilities, well-maintained infrastructure, and responsive management, are called into serious question by the negative review.
Promotional information is entirely absent from the provided data. Given the severely negative experiences detailed in one of the reviews, it is highly unlikely that Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park is actively promoting itself. Anyone considering a long-term RV stay at this location would need to directly address the serious allegations raised in the negative review with the park management at (219) 926-5867 or +1 219-926-5867. It would be crucial to inquire about the current status of the water quality, noise ordinance enforcement, safety protocols, maintenance schedules, pool operation, and any policies regarding RVs, including available services, lot sizes, and lease terms.
In conclusion, for individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in Chesterton, IN, Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park presents a highly uncertain option based on the drastically contrasting and limited online reviews. While one reviewer mentions a clean park with a nice playground and friendly residents, the other provides a detailed and alarming account of significant issues related to water quality, management negligence, safety concerns, noise disturbances, and overall poor living conditions. Potential long-term RV residents must exercise extreme caution and conduct thorough due diligence. Directly contacting the park management to address the serious allegations is essential. Visiting the park and speaking with current residents (if possible) would also be highly advisable to gain a more comprehensive and balanced understanding of the living conditions. Given the severity of the issues raised in the negative review, exploring other established and reputable "RV parks near me" in the Chesterton area would be a prudent approach to ensure a safe and comfortable long-term living experience.

Forest Oaks Mobile Home Park Reviews
This mobile home park fits perfectly, exactly where it's at. You can get perfectly lost coming in or going out from either end, great for those unexpected adventures that display your fortitude. It is a clean Park with an exceptionally beautiful children's playground. I don't think it can figure out whether it's South Haven or Valparaiso, adding to its mysterious layers. Can't wait to visit Forest oaks Mobile home Park again and again! The residents are quite friendly, and so are the random cats.
Apr 16, 2025 · Henry HammondDo you want to live in a place where you’re always under boil effect and rarely have clean water to bathe and cook with? Where the quality of the water is regularly hid from you? Do you want to live in a place where even the owners of the park refuse to follow the noise ordinance time frames that they have outlined in your lease? Do you want to live in a place where management/owners do absolutely nothing in the way of helping you anytime you complain about any issue whether it be violent dangerous teenagers waving guns around at each other at the children’s playground, violent dangerous, neighbors, neighbors that keep you up all night? Road construction in the park at least once a year? Mowing crews out behind your home at 6 am? Consistently going down to your community pool in the summer to find it’s still closed as it has been the majority of the summers because of vandalism and people’s unsupervised unruly kids? Maybe you’ll be interested in having parts of your home destroyed because the park consistently moves trailers in on frozen solid ground then refuse to fix damages caused by the trailer inevitably sinking into freshly thawed ground? I bet you would love the 20-30 dollar yearly rent increase, leaving you paying 1000+ for a crappy trailer in a crappy neighborhood? I haven’t loved any of it, and every example given have all been personal experiences that I’ve had to document over the last five years.
May 01, 2025 · Jonni Mauldon’t live here unless you want them turning your water off without notice for HOURS at a time, this is the third time within a month. There’s huge potholes all over the roads that they won’t fix. oh and you better be okay with hundreds of ants invading your house through all the cracks in the foundation you’ll have to seal up yourself! the kid next door is awful, he screams through my open windows at me and my toddler and left a bucket of dog poop all over my back porch, smeared. I had to invest in a camera like the rest of residents for good reason. neighbors blast their music from 7am to midnight and there’s absolutely no lights at the entrance to the park to guide your way in. nothing was cleaned upon move in the place was dirty and tons of food from the last tenants under neath the appliances and carpets were extremely filthy. the vents pop really loudly when the heat is on and it’s quite disturbing. Multiple cabinets were broken. This park doesn’t care about anything other than moving in new trailers to make more money but not spending any of it to actually make the park a better and safer place to live.
Apr 28, 2025 · KelseyNothing like turning off the power on a 83° day. As an asthmatic, it’s tough. We were told one day and now these workers have come and gone. Still no power. No answer from the office either..
