Golden State Mobile Lodge Introduce
For local users in the Torrance, California area searching for "RV parks near me" that might accommodate long-term stays or mobile home living, Golden State Mobile Lodge, located at 22600 Normandie Ave # 30, Torrance, CA 90502, USA, presents a community with significant concerns raised by at least one of its residents. It is crucial for prospective residents to carefully consider this feedback when evaluating their options within the "RV parks near me" category.
One detailed review paints a concerning picture of Golden State Mobile Lodge. The resident characterizes the park operator as a "predator," citing substantial rate increases for parking privately-owned mobile homes, allegedly exceeding $1700 per month. This significant cost for space rental could be a major deterrent for individuals seeking affordable long-term living options within the "RV parks near me" category.
Furthermore, the reviewer alleges frequent disruptions of essential park services, including "trash, water, electricity." Such inconsistencies in basic utilities can severely impact the quality of life for residents and raise questions about the reliability of the park's infrastructure and management. These claims should be carefully considered by anyone contemplating residency at Golden State Mobile Lodge.
The review also criticizes the ongoing refurbishment of the clubhouse, which the resident claims is rarely used, while essential services are reportedly unreliable. Additionally, concerns are raised about the pool being closed during winter, yet residents allegedly continue to pay for its upkeep year-round. These points suggest potential mismanagement of resources and a lack of consideration for residents' needs and expenses.
A significant portion of the negative review focuses on the treatment of senior residents who moved into the park when it was designated as a senior community. The current management team is described as "dismissive and neglectful" towards these long-term residents, with an alleged aim to "eliminating seniors by eviction." The claim that every monthly rent notice is accompanied by eviction warnings creates an atmosphere of insecurity and anxiety for residents, particularly the elderly. This alleged treatment raises serious ethical concerns about the management's approach to their existing tenant base.
The reviewer further states that the park was converted to a family park "against our will," with no offer of relocation for existing residents. Instead, they were reportedly given an ultimatum to sign a new lease under the new terms or move their homes to another location. This abrupt change in the park's demographic focus and the lack of support for affected residents could be a major drawback for those who chose the community specifically for its senior-friendly environment.
The review strongly labels the park operators as "out of state PREDATORS" whose "Profit is their only motive." This harsh assessment underscores the level of dissatisfaction and frustration expressed by the resident regarding the management's practices and priorities.
Adding another layer of concern, the reviewer mentions the presence of "No fewer than 3 oil companies" operating pipelines "mere feet underneath your home." While the financial arrangements between the park operator and these companies are speculative ("One presumes they are also paying handsomely"), the proximity of oil pipelines could raise safety and environmental concerns for some prospective residents.
The reviewer also points out that "The State of California owns the property," and the park operator allegedly enjoys a favorable state lease. This context adds to the criticism, suggesting that the operator is exploiting a "Sweetheart State Lease" to the detriment of vulnerable residents.
In contrast to the overwhelmingly negative review, there is a brief note stating, "New 'Solar Ready' Rental 2 master suites Home was placed into Community Aug 24." This indicates that there are ongoing developments within the park, with new rental units being introduced, potentially with modern features like solar readiness. This could be seen as a positive aspect for those seeking rental options within the community, but it does not address the serious concerns raised in the detailed negative review.
Given the significant and concerning allegations made in the detailed resident review, local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Torrance, CA, should exercise extreme caution when considering Golden State Mobile Lodge for long-term living. The claims of exorbitant rate increases, frequent service disruptions, questionable management practices, and the alleged mistreatment of senior residents are serious red flags that warrant thorough investigation and consideration.
While the introduction of a new rental home with potential solar readiness might be appealing to some, it does not negate the deeply troubling experiences reported by a long-term resident. Prospective residents should attempt to verify the claims made in the review by contacting the management directly and, if possible, speaking with other current residents to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the living conditions and management practices at Golden State Mobile Lodge.
Contacting Golden State Mobile Lodge at (310) 320-3454 or +1 310-320-3454 is essential for anyone considering this community. It would be prudent to ask detailed questions about the current rental rates, the reliability of park services, the management's policies regarding senior residents, and any plans for future changes or developments within the park. Additionally, inquiring about safety measures related to the oil pipelines mentioned in the review would be advisable.
In conclusion, Golden State Mobile Lodge in Torrance, CA, presents a complex picture based on the limited information available. While new rental options are being introduced, a detailed resident review raises serious concerns about the park's operation, particularly regarding rate increases, service reliability, management practices, and the treatment of long-term senior residents. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should carefully weigh these factors and conduct thorough due diligence before considering Golden State Mobile Lodge as a potential place to live.

Golden State Mobile Lodge Reviews
This Park operator is a predator. The rates are going over 1700 a month to park your already paid for house. They constantly shut down park services...trash. water, electricity, and are constantly employing people to work on the five times refurbished clubhouse that no one uses and the pool is turned off all winter but you pay anyway. Their treatment of the seniors who moved in when it was a senior park is dismissive and neglectful. They hired a Management team who seem bent on eliminating seniors by eviction. Every months rent notice is accompanied by eviction warnings. They switched it to a family park against our will. No offer to relocate simply an order to sign the new lease or move your home to another location. These are out of state PREDATORS. Profit is their only motive. No fewer than 3 oil companies operate pipelines mere feet underneath your home. One presumes they are also paying handsomely. The State of California owns the property The park operator enjoys a Sweetheart State Lease and turns around and strangles old people who are struggling to stay alive, A Heartless and Thoughtless center of Ageism in the City of Torrance.

Aug 26, 2019 · Steve LeflerHorrible management company. You call them and they NEVER pick up the phone. The managers leave for long lunch hours and they are hardly around. They try to intimidate the elderly people leaving there with their supposedly rules and regulations. The space rent prices are ridiculous. YOU are better off renting an apartment. They also don't have visitors parking.
