Groves RV Park Introduce
For local RV owners and travelers seeking "RV parks near me" in the Groves, Texas area, Groves RV Park, located at 6345 Gulfway Dr, Groves, TX 77619, USA, presents a location primarily catering to individuals in the area for work. They can be contacted at (409) 962-2244 or their mobile number, +1 409-962-2244, for inquiries. Online reviews offer a somewhat polarized view of the park, highlighting both its positive aspects, such as quiet surroundings and new facilities, as well as significant concerns regarding electrical safety and management response to issues.
One reviewer described their experience as potentially divisive, stating, "some love it some MAY hate it," attributing this to individual personalities, expectations, and social perspectives. This reviewer noted the quiet atmosphere and the prevalence of long-term residents staying for work, resulting in low campground traffic and the absence of typical recreational amenities like playgrounds or a dog park. They found the park to be safe and mentioned the presence of a bar, dump truck service, and wrecker service on-site, but stated that noise from these was minimal. Occasional truck racing sounds were noted. Positively, this reviewer praised the "very nice and new" laundry and shower facilities, albeit mentioning they were "pricey" but equipped with large commercial machines and a 24-hour change machine accepting various dollar bills. The primary downside for this reviewer was the presence of older campers with accumulated belongings outside, though they noted no disturbances from these residents. They found the rent reasonable and appreciated the non-micromanaging approach of the management, specifically mentioning Mrs. Drew. A significant drawback mentioned was the park's policy of not accepting debit cards, requiring cash or check. Despite these points, this reviewer indicated they would "definitely come back."
In stark contrast, another reviewer reported a severe electrical issue, stating they "Hooked up to a 30 amp plug and electrical wires were hooked up wrong. Hot wire and neutral were crossed and burned up my new AC unit." This reviewer further alleged that the park management was unwilling to cover the replacement cost of the AC unit. They also described a negative interaction with a maintenance employee who reportedly had an attitude, denied the wiring error despite the damage, and became confrontational when challenged. This experience led the reviewer to leave the park.
Environment and Location:
Groves RV Park is situated on Gulfway Dr in Groves, Texas. The first review suggests a relatively quiet environment, primarily due to the long-term work-related residents and low transient traffic. The presence of commercial services like a bar, dump truck service, and wrecker service on-site might suggest a more industrial or mixed-use area, though the reviewer indicated minimal noise from these operations. The occasional sound of truck racing implies proximity to some form of racing activity, which could be a factor for noise-sensitive individuals. The absence of typical campground amenities like playgrounds and dog parks further reinforces the park's focus on accommodating a working resident base rather than recreational travelers. The second review does not comment on the general environment but focuses on a specific issue at an individual hookup.
Services and Amenities:
Based on the customer reviews, Groves RV Park offers the following services and amenities:
- Laundry Facilities: Described as "very nice and new" with large commercial machines and a 24-hour change machine. However, they are noted as "pricey."
- Shower Facilities: Also described as "very nice and new."
- Electric Hookups: Available at least with 30 amp service, but one review reported a critical wiring error leading to damage.
- Water Hookups: Implied as necessary for RV stays but not explicitly detailed.
- On-site Bar, Dump Truck Service, and Wrecker Service: These are present but reportedly do not cause significant disturbances.
The reviews do not provide information about sewage hookups, WiFi availability, recreational areas, or specific details about the management beyond the positive interaction with "Mrs. Drew" and the negative encounter with the maintenance employee and the management's handling of the electrical damage claim. The park's payment policy is also a key service aspect, as they do not accept debit cards, requiring payment by cash or check only.
Features and Atmosphere:
Groves RV Park appears to offer a quiet and safe environment primarily catering to a working demographic. The newer laundry and shower facilities are a notable positive feature. The presence of on-site commercial services is unique but reportedly not disruptive. The management style, as perceived by one reviewer, is non-micromanaging, which can be a significant benefit for long-term residents who value their privacy and independence. However, the serious electrical wiring issue reported by another reviewer raises significant safety concerns that potential guests must consider. The attitude of the maintenance employee in that instance is also a concerning aspect of the park's service.
The atmosphere seems to be more functional and less recreational, given the lack of typical campground amenities. The presence of older campers with accumulated belongings might affect the aesthetic appeal for some, but one reviewer noted no issues stemming from these residents.
Promotional Information:
While there is no explicit promotional content in the reviews, the positive comments about the quiet environment, new facilities, reasonable rent (as perceived by one reviewer), and non-interfering management could be seen as indirect selling points for those whose priorities align with these aspects. However, this must be balanced against the serious electrical safety concern and the reported lack of support in resolving the resulting damage. Local users seeking a quiet, work-oriented park with new amenities might find Groves RV Park appealing, but they should be aware of the potential risks highlighted in the negative review.
Call to Action for Local Users:
Local RV owners and travelers searching for "RV parks near me" in Groves, TX, should carefully consider the mixed feedback regarding Groves RV Park. The park offers a potentially quiet environment with new laundry and shower facilities and a non-micromanaging management style. However, the reported incident of incorrect electrical wiring causing significant damage and the alleged lack of responsibility taken by the management are serious red flags. Additionally, the cash or check only payment policy is a notable inconvenience for many. Before considering a stay at Groves RV Park, it is strongly recommended to contact them at (409) 962-2244 or +1 409-962-2244 to inquire about their electrical safety protocols, their policies on addressing damages caused by park infrastructure, and their current payment methods. A thorough personal inspection of the site, particularly the electrical hookups, might also be advisable to ensure safety and suitability for your RV.

Groves RV Park Reviews
I would like to say that this is a "some love it some MAY hate it". Personalities, expectations, and where you rank yourself in society. We really like it for the most part. It's quiet, not alot of campground traffic, it's mostly people who are here for work. Thus no playgrounds, or dog park. It's safe. Yes there is a bar and a dump truck service and a wrecker service but you don't here noise or disturbances. You hardly ever hear sirens. You DO hear and see trucks racing every now and then! The laundry and shower is very nice and new. Pricey. But, it's brand new. Big commercial from end loaders. And a change machine. Accepts $1,5,10 and 20! Open 24hrs. The only down fall that I can see people complaining or being wary of would be the older campers that has alot of junk piled up outside. But I don't ever hear noise or "regular visits"! I don't expect people to have new campers. But hey that's their business that may be overlooked. As for rent, I think it's reasonable. One thing I HATE is when I'm a tidy person and owners/managers micromanage. We travel all year with the exception of December and January. So we are paying rent to feel at home. We respect your rules please allow us to feel at home! I have to say that Mrs.Drew does that. One more thing. That don't accept debit. So cash or check. Will definitely come back here.
Jul 19, 2017 · S DupontHooked up to a 30 amp plug and electrical wires were hooked up wrong. Hot wire and neutral were crossed and burned up my new AC unit. They didn't want to cover any of my expenses to replace the AC. Maintenance employee had an attitude when I told him it was wired up wrong. He said he has been doing it for 30 years that I was wrong and tried to get in my face about it. I walked away and left.
Dec 27, 2024 · David MadridIt is a clean quiet park with a new laundry room. The park is kinda small but I like that & it's 1/4 of a mile from the job I am working. Reasonable rates without all the extras & hidden fees. The office staff are polite & helpful.
Aug 27, 2018 · #unapoligeticlly IsraelGreat place to stay. Peaceful and has Laundromat next to office. Also has big trash bins towards exit. Has concrete floors for rv and cars. Also has a little pavilion for people with a grill next to it for anyone who wants to use it. There are chickens coops behind fence and are very loud in morning time.
Dec 22, 2021 · H CanoGreat little quiet park. Competitively priced. Paved everything. Parking spaces are a little small but there is usually somewhere that you can park. The manager is very nice and they take care of problems quickly. The amenities like laundry room etc aren't finished yet but I don't mind as I use a wash n fold. And recently opened quite a few pull thru spots. Big extra for me.
