Highland Hills Introduce
Highland Hills is a mobile home park located at 2425 Douglas Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, USA. For inquiries, they can be reached at (269) 363-2734 or +1 269-363-2734. This introduction aims to provide local users with an objective overview of Highland Hills based on the available information, particularly in the context of those who might be searching for "RV parks near me" as a broader category of residential or temporary living options.
It's important to clarify that Highland Hills is a mobile home park, primarily designed for long-term residency in manufactured homes, rather than a recreational vehicle park catering to short-term stays. While individuals searching for "RV parks near me" might be exploring various types of community living or temporary accommodation, the services and environment of a mobile home park are typically geared towards a more permanent living arrangement. However, the principles of community, infrastructure, and management are relevant across both types of parks.
Highland Hills is situated in Kalamazoo, a city in southwestern Michigan known for its vibrant cultural scene, educational institutions (including Western Michigan University and Kalamazoo College), and a mix of urban and suburban environments. The location on Douglas Avenue suggests that Highland Hills might offer convenient access to various parts of Kalamazoo, including shopping centers, restaurants, and other local amenities. The specific environment within the park itself, such as landscaping, common areas, and the density of homes, is not detailed in the provided information.
Kalamazoo and the surrounding area offer a range of attractions, including parks, nature preserves, and cultural venues. Residents of Highland Hills would likely have access to these opportunities, contributing to the overall quality of life in the area. However, the immediate environment within the mobile home park itself would be a key factor for potential residents.
While specific services and features of Highland Hills are not fully outlined, mobile home parks generally provide the necessary infrastructure for long-term living. These typically include:
- Individual lots designed to accommodate manufactured homes. These lots are usually leased to homeowners.
- Utility connections at each lot, including water, sewer, and electricity. Residents are typically responsible for their usage and billing, often managed through the park.
- Roads within the park to allow for vehicle and pedestrian access to homes. The condition of these roads can vary.
- Management services, which oversee the operation of the park, enforce community rules, and handle maintenance requests. The responsiveness and effectiveness of management are often critical aspects for residents.
- Waste management services, such as trash and recycling collection.
Additional amenities can vary widely among mobile home parks and might include things like community centers, laundry facilities, playgrounds, or recreational areas. The presence of such amenities at Highland Hills is not confirmed in the provided information.
One detailed customer review expresses significant dissatisfaction with the maintenance and management response at Highland Hills. The reviewer describes a recurring issue with a cracked bathtub upon moving in, which took approximately five months to be fully replaced. This delay and the multiple temporary fixes attempted by the resident, their husband, and their father raise concerns about the efficiency and quality of maintenance services.
Furthermore, the reviewer reports the development of mold in a closet due to the leaking tub, which they believe was not adequately addressed during the tub replacement. The subsequent discovery of extensive mold and the perceived slow and potentially inadequate response from the management regarding remediation are major points of criticism. The reviewer's experience suggests a lack of urgency and potentially ineffective contractors being used for repairs.
The reviewer concludes with a strong recommendation against living at Highland Hills, labeling it "the worst decision of my life." This negative feedback highlights serious issues with property maintenance and management responsiveness from at least one resident's perspective.
In contrast to the negative review, another customer offers a positive perspective: "A place that continues to make many improvements in the park. It just keeps getting better." This brief comment suggests that there are ongoing efforts to enhance the community and that at least one resident perceives a positive trend in the park's development.
This contrasting view indicates that experiences within Highland Hills may vary, or that improvements are being made that are appreciated by some residents. However, the specific nature of these improvements is not detailed.
The available customer feedback presents a mixed picture. The detailed negative review raises significant concerns about maintenance issues, the responsiveness of management, and the quality of repairs. The positive review offers a contrasting viewpoint, suggesting ongoing improvements. Potential residents should weigh these perspectives carefully.
The serious nature of the issues described in the negative review, such as prolonged unresolved leaks and mold growth, are critical factors to consider when evaluating a long-term living situation. Mold, in particular, can have significant health implications and requires proper remediation.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me," the experience described at Highland Hills, particularly the maintenance issues and management response, highlights the importance of thorough research and due diligence when considering any residential community, whether for short-term or long-term stays. While RV parks ideally offer well-maintained facilities and responsive management for a comfortable travel experience, mobile home parks require these qualities for a stable and healthy living environment.
The contrasting positive review suggests that the situation at Highland Hills might be evolving, or that different residents have different experiences. However, the specific issues raised in the negative review warrant careful consideration by anyone contemplating living in this community.
The provided information does not include any promotional details, such as current lot rental rates, special offers for new residents, or information about available homes for sale or rent within Highland Hills. Local users interested in such details would need to contact the management directly.
Highland Hills Mobile Home Park in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a residential community for manufactured homes. Available customer feedback presents a stark contrast, with one resident reporting significant and unresolved maintenance issues, including water leaks and mold, and expressing strong dissatisfaction with the management's response. Conversely, another resident notes ongoing improvements within the park.
Local users considering Highland Hills as a potential long-term living option, or those who might have included it in a broader search for "RV parks near me," should be aware of these differing perspectives. It is crucial to conduct thorough due diligence, including contacting the management directly to inquire about maintenance procedures, the condition of the park and individual lots, and to understand the current living environment. Visiting the park and, if possible, speaking with current residents could provide a more comprehensive understanding before making any decisions. The serious allegations in the negative review should be carefully considered alongside the positive feedback about ongoing improvements.

Highland Hills Reviews
When we moved in on march 1st 2023 our tub was cracked and we didn’t notice it until we took a shower. my husband fixed it, the maintenance lady fixed it and then my dad fixed it. Finally like 5 months later they put a new tub in and there was mold in my closet from the tub leaking from the crake. They said they fixed it when they fix the tub. I looked and everything looked fine. Well a couple days ago we were smelling something and come to find out my whole closet and everything in it has mold on it. So I’m guessing the just “fixed” temporary… I would’ve checked it sooner if I were Home, but I was gone for three weeks. I mention it to the lady in the office and she said the maintenance guy cannot do anything about it that she has to call a contractor. I asked her when is the contractor going to be here and she said when they call me back. If this is the same contractor that fixed it the last time, I don’t want it they don’t know what they’re doing. I feel like their contractor is just someone they picked up off the side of the road honestly. I would not recommend living at this trailer park worst decision of my life.
