Horne Lake RV Resort Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Yulee, Florida area, Horne Lake RV Resort, situated at 77219 Hance Pkwy, Yulee, FL 32097, presents itself as a community-oriented option with a lakeside setting. Based on customer reviews, the park exhibits both positive attributes, such as a friendly and engaging staff and a strong sense of community, alongside some potential drawbacks that prospective guests should consider.
One recurring positive theme in the reviews is the commendable management and staff at Horne Lake RV Resort. Several guests have highlighted the amazing and easy-to-get-along nature of the management team and employees. There's a noted respect for rules and boundaries, coupled with a compassionate side, exemplified by the presence of a food pantry for those in need. This suggests a caring and supportive environment fostered by the park's leadership. The management is also described as proactive in building a community feel by organizing fun events and even cooking for the residents, contributing to a more engaging and social atmosphere than just a typical RV parking facility.
The sense of community appears to be a significant draw for many visitors. The reviews suggest that Horne Lake RV Resort cultivates a welcoming environment where people connect with each other. This can be particularly appealing for those who are traveling long-term or seeking a more interactive RV park experience. The willingness of the management and other residents to rally together and help a guest in need, such as searching for a lost car, further underscores this community spirit.
The presence of Horne Lake itself is another notable feature of the resort. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy the lake and engage in activities such as fishing from the dock. This adds a recreational element to the RV park, providing a natural setting for relaxation and leisure right within the property.
However, alongside these positive aspects, some reviews raise significant concerns that potential guests should carefully consider. One reviewer describes a less favorable experience, citing issues such as closely packed campsites ("campers are back to back") and disruptive behavior from staff, including alleged screaming near RV windows and late-night door knocking related to complaints. This account suggests potential issues with noise management and staff conduct that could impact the tranquility of a stay, particularly for those working non-traditional hours.
Furthermore, the same reviewer alleges inconsistent treatment and dissatisfaction with management's handling of agreements, specifically regarding promised compensation for work performed. These allegations point to potential issues with transparency and reliability in management practices. The reviewer also claims to have experienced what they perceived as unfair treatment regarding rental rates compared to other guests.
A particularly serious concern raised in one review is the alleged poor water quality at the resort. The reviewer claims that the water was so problematic that it caused their dog to become ill, requiring veterinary attention. Following this incident, they reportedly avoided using the park's water even for drinking, citing safety concerns. Such allegations regarding water quality are critical and should be a significant consideration for potential guests, especially those with pets or health sensitivities.
Another significant negative point raised is the claim of experiencing discrimination, although the specifics are not detailed. The reviewer also mentions being charged a significantly higher rental rate compared to nearby sites in what they described as a less desirable "high class sewage area," further contributing to their negative perception of their stay.
Given these contrasting reviews, it is essential for prospective guests to weigh the reported positives, such as the friendly community and lake access, against the potential negatives concerning noise, staff conduct, management practices, and, most notably, the serious allegations regarding water quality and discriminatory pricing. The stark warning from one reviewer to "avoid this campground at all costs" and to consult the park's Google page for further negative feedback suggests that these concerns are not isolated incidents.
It is important to note that online reviews can be subjective and represent individual experiences. However, the consistency of certain themes, both positive and negative, provides valuable insights for those considering a stay at Horne Lake RV Resort. While some guests have clearly had very positive experiences, appreciating the community atmosphere and the staff's efforts, others have reported significant issues that detracted from their stay.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Yulee, Florida, Horne Lake RV Resort offers a location that may be convenient. The presence of a lake for fishing is a unique amenity that could appeal to those who enjoy water-based recreation. The emphasis on community and organized events might also be attractive to individuals seeking a more social RV park experience. However, it is crucial to be aware of the potential downsides highlighted in the reviews, particularly the concerns about noise, staff interactions, management consistency, and the serious allegations regarding water quality and pricing.
Prospective guests are strongly encouraged to conduct further research, including reviewing the park's listings on various platforms and potentially contacting the management directly to inquire about the concerns raised in the reviews. It would be prudent to ask about water safety, noise policies, and their approach to ensuring a positive and equitable experience for all guests. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to stay at Horne Lake RV Resort will depend on individual priorities and risk tolerance in light of the contrasting feedback available.

Horne Lake RV Resort Reviews
My wife and I have currently been staying at this location for a few weeks now. The management staff and all the employees that we've interacted with have been amazing and easy to get along with. I do respect however that the management doesn't allow nonsense yet they clearly have a big heart they have a food pantry for those that need some assistance for whatever reasons. There seems to be a community type feeling at this RV park. The management is always putting together fun little events and cooking. My wife and I travel a lot and stay in a lot of places this seems to be one of the highlighted places of our experience. We look forward to coming back!!!!!!! They even helped us look for our car that got out and rallied behind us to help us look. Don't forget to also enjoy their wonderful lake and fish on the dock!!
Mar 08, 2025 · Jeremiah TankersleyNote to readers reading this:Campers are back to back. Staff will come screaming in your window so if you work a Second shift hope you enjoy no sleep. office staff to come banging on your door at all hours of the night complaining about bull crap and when we go to complain to the so called owners and all they say is yeah "she probably had to many white claws" and laughs like that excuses that type of behavior. We didn't pay a week worth of rent because the owners said they would give us money off for helping them out with all the campers and rvs we moved off the property and of course they didn't hold up to their word used us for free labor. All they did was print out a piece of paper asking us to leave so we did willingly but all you can see that’s all they are using to their defense, saying they “evicted”us. Not admitting to all their wrongdoings. They said me and my boyfriend were fighting every night and dogs were barking nonstop and that we were causing such a disruption then why not print out your “Eviction” paper months before? We had no problems with any of the neighbors. This place is extremely drama infested. The water will literally eat your skin away, we had to take our dog to the vet from drinking the water because she wouldn't stop coughing, after that we couldn't even use their water for drinking because of how unsafe it is. They discriminated against us don't know why but everyone was paying $625 around us next to the high class sewage area and we were paying $850. Which is a lot of money to be waking up to the smell of crap everyday.I'd avoid this campground at all costs just scroll down their google page it'll give you every reason in the book to drive on past.
Feb 27, 2025 · Sara MinksFrom my experience at the office I can tell you there is no way I'd stay at this park. They would not even let me look at the park or the lake! I stopped in and asked said I was in the area and might consider staying there in the future but they would not allow me to tour! What are they trying to hide? I suspect they know if you get a chance to look at the place before you actually book it that you want you'll find somewhere else. Well look at the other reviews that'll give you an idea! One of the things I wanted to see was how loud the traffic was being in the close proximity of I95. I also wanted to see how close the lake was to the actual campsites. I did ask about the lake location and they told me it was about a half a mile from where the RV sites were at, that seems really convenient. I would have liked to looked around for myself but I saw enough to know, look somewhere else! I'm sure they won't care because they're certainly not interested in any new business. They did tell me they had some full-time folks and that there was 70 people on the waiting list so I guess you can't argue with success. But they won't get any of my money. Not very friendly at all. And it did look a little run down too here's some pictures Good luck.
Dec 05, 2023 · Lucian BaileyWe moved here from Wyoming and what a great welcome we got from management and the maintenance team. We plan on living here in our travel trailer as long as we can. If you need just a night or few,or extended stay, I recommend this place. It has everything you need.
Apr 08, 2025 · Della MerrowI stopped here to swap out a motorcycle carrier from my vehicle to another and this was a halfway point for me and the other person. When I arrived, a lady came out to greet me and asked if she could help me. I let her know that I was just meeting someone there for a moment. She told me ok and have a nice day. When the other person and I had some issues swapping out the carrier, we used an electric tool that created some noise. The noise was noticeable, I'll admit, but nothing crazy. The same lady came out and asked what we were doing there. I explained that we were switching out the carrier. She then asked but why here? I told her it was a halfway point for me and the other gentleman, and I asked if she wanted us to leave. She then responded by saying she didn't understand why we were in the parking lot doing this and creating a disturbance. I again told her that we could just leave and go to the end of the road so it wouldn't be an issue. She again told me she didn't understand why we had chosen to come to the business to do this. I asked her again if she wanted us to leave which she then told us to leave. I don't know why she was being rude. We were there for maybe 5 minutes, and I told her I would leave multiple times, but she just kept asking why we were there, after I told her the first time she asked. Just didn't seem like a good way to approach the situation when I was being very nice and respectful to her.
