When I called to do a booking for a veterans hunt that I was going on for one night. The woman was rude to me on the phone when I told her I didn’t have a top AC unit and she said I didn’t have a trailer and when I told her I was gonna be on a veterans hunt, she automatically said my trailer was too old and that they didn’t have a spot for me and when I was on their website, it showed that they had open spots available so she lied to me don’t recommend this place one bit for veterans - Robert Tyndall

Lost Resort Ranch Introduce

Lost Resort Ranch, located at 1764 Co Rd 381, San Antonio, TX 78253, USA, presents a somewhat contrasting image based on the limited customer reviews available online. For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the San Antonio area, this park offers a glimpse into a country setting with potential for a peaceful stay and wildlife observation. However, it is essential to consider both the positive and negative feedback to form an objective understanding.

Environment and Atmosphere:

One reviewer, a long-term guest from Alaska, describes Lost Resort Ranch as having a "country setting" situated "just a few short miles to San Antonio." This suggests a location that offers a rural ambiance while still providing relatively easy access to the amenities and attractions of the city. The reviewer also notes that "the wildlife is wonderful to see," indicating that the park's environment is conducive to observing local fauna, which could be a significant draw for nature enthusiasts.

This guest further characterizes the park's atmosphere by affirming the "peacefulness" mentioned in other reviews (though only one other review is provided). This suggests that Lost Resort Ranch aims to provide a tranquil and quiet environment for its visitors, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

However, the other review presents a starkly different initial experience. This potential guest described an interaction with a woman over the phone as "rude" and reported being denied a booking for a veteran's hunt, allegedly based on the age of their trailer, despite the website showing availability. This account raises concerns about the initial point of contact and the park's policies regarding different types of RVs or trailers, as well as potential inconsistencies in booking information.

Despite this negative initial interaction, the long-term guest's positive experience suggests that the actual environment of the park itself might be pleasant and welcoming, at least for those who are accepted as guests.

Services:

The reviews provide limited explicit information about the services offered at Lost Resort Ranch. The positive review from the long-term guest does not detail specific amenities but focuses on the environment and the welcoming nature of the owner. The negative review centered on the booking process and did not comment on the services provided within the park.

Based on the general expectations for an RV park, Lost Resort Ranch likely offers standard hookups for water, electricity, and sewer at its sites. Other potential services could include trash removal, and possibly laundry facilities or restrooms/showers, although these are not mentioned in the provided reviews. The reference to security lights by the long-term guest implies that the park has some level of security measures in place, although the brightness was a minor concern for stargazing.

The contrasting experiences with the booking process suggest inconsistency or potential issues with customer service at the initial contact stage.

Features:

Key features of Lost Resort Ranch, based on the customer reviews, appear to be:

  • Country Setting: Offering a rural and potentially more relaxed atmosphere compared to urban RV parks.
  • Proximity to San Antonio: Providing a balance between a country feel and access to city amenities.
  • Wildlife Viewing Opportunities: Suggesting a natural environment where local animals can be observed.
  • Peaceful Atmosphere: Aiming for a quiet and tranquil stay.
  • Welcoming Owner (as reported by one guest): Indicating a potentially positive and hospitable management style once accepted as a guest.
  • Security Lights: Providing some level of security, although the brightness may be a concern for some.

The negative review implies a potential feature of having restrictions based on the age or type of RV/trailer, although this was presented in a negative light by the potential guest who was turned away.

Other common features of RV parks, such as the number and size of sites, the presence of shade, Wi-Fi availability, recreational facilities (e.g., a playground or communal area), or pet policies, are not mentioned in the provided reviews.

Promotional Information:

Based on the positive aspects highlighted in one review, potential promotional points for Lost Resort Ranch could include:

  • Escape to the Country: Emphasizing the peaceful and rural setting just a short drive from San Antonio.
  • Nature Lover's Paradise: Highlighting the opportunities for wildlife viewing.
  • A Welcoming Retreat: Focusing on the hospitality of the owner and the friendly atmosphere (as experienced by one guest).
  • Clean and Well-Maintained: As implied by the affirmation of cleanliness in the positive review.

However, any promotional efforts would need to address the potential concerns raised by the negative booking experience, perhaps by clarifying booking policies and ensuring consistent and courteous communication with all potential guests, including veterans.

Objective Assessment for Local Users:

Lost Resort Ranch near San Antonio, TX, offers a blend of potentially appealing features, such as a country setting, peaceful environment, and wildlife viewing opportunities, as reported by a long-term guest. The proximity to San Antonio provides a convenient balance between rural tranquility and urban access.

However, the negative experience of a potential guest attempting to book a stay raises significant concerns about the initial customer service and the park's booking policies, particularly regarding older RVs/trailers or specific groups like veterans. This discrepancy in experiences highlights the importance of approaching Lost Resort Ranch with caution and seeking clarification on their policies and communication practices.

Local users considering Lost Resort Ranch for their "RV parks near me" search should weigh the reported peaceful environment and welcoming owner against the potential for inconsistent communication and booking issues. It would be advisable to contact the park directly, perhaps speaking with the owner if possible, to inquire about their specific needs and the park's policies regarding their RV type and any group affiliations.

The long-term guest's comment about "too many security lights" being a con (despite others potentially seeing it as a blessing) is a minor point but illustrates that some aspects of the park might be perceived differently by different individuals. For those interested in stargazing, this might be a consideration.

Conclusion:

Lost Resort Ranch offers a country setting near San Antonio with a peaceful atmosphere and opportunities for wildlife viewing, which may appeal to local users seeking a quieter RV park option. One long-term guest reported a welcoming owner and a positive experience. However, a contrasting account of a rude booking interaction and a denial of stay based on the perceived age of a trailer raises concerns about customer service and booking policies. Potential guests, especially veterans or those with older RVs, should exercise caution and directly communicate their specific needs and RV details with the park management before attempting to book a stay. While the park may offer a pleasant environment once accepted, the initial contact experience appears to be inconsistent based on the limited reviews available.
