Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" or considering a mobile home community in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community, located at 135 Mallard Dr, Pontoon Beach, IL 62040, USA, is one option you might encounter. They can be reached by phone at (618) 797-6034 or their mobile number +1 618-797-6034. However, it is crucial to carefully consider the recent feedback from residents before making any decisions regarding this property.
Two recent reviews paint a starkly negative picture of the living experience at Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community, particularly concerning the management and the condition of the properties. One reviewer, who had been living there for nine months, describes a transition from initial excitement about having their own place to dealing with constant repairs on their purchased trailer, which they attribute to "ignorant management." This resident characterizes the management as putting in minimal effort while seemingly quick to blame others ("no one wants to work anymore"). A specific issue highlighted is recurring AC problems, with the management allegedly failing to disclose that the air ducts had never been cleaned. This reviewer concludes that the management is not there to help residents but primarily focused on extracting money for the benefit of a corporate entity.
Another long-term resident, who lived at Mallard Lake for approximately five years, strongly advises against moving to this community, stating that despite an initial "bright picture," the reality is "not worth a dime." This reviewer recounts a significant maintenance issue involving a leak in their children's room that began around 2.5 years into their residency. The initial response from management was to simply place a tarp over the leak. This problem reportedly escalated to the point where ceilings in multiple rooms (two bedrooms, a bathroom, and half the living room) were caving in before the management decided to move the family to another trailer.
The "newly remodeled trailer" they were moved into was described as "horribly renovated" with missing, broken, and mismatched items, which the reviewer sarcastically labeled a "landlord special." Despite these issues, they felt they had no choice but to accept the situation. However, they soon discovered that the new trailer was infested with roaches. Multiple complaints to the management about the roach problem allegedly resulted only in the occasional visit from a "neighborhood bug guy" who laid down ineffective sticky traps. This resident ultimately moved out and expresses immense relief at leaving, urging others to "spare yourself the nightmare of this place and move somewhere else!"
Based on these two reviews, the environment at Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community appears to be marred by significant maintenance issues, unresponsive and unhelpful management, and potentially unsanitary living conditions. The first review suggests a pattern of neglecting maintenance and prioritizing profit over resident well-being. The second review details severe structural problems, inadequate temporary fixes, and a failure to address a pest infestation effectively.
In terms of services, the reviews indicate a lack of adequate maintenance and repair services. The management's response to reported issues is described as minimal and ineffective. The alleged failure to address leaks properly and the inadequate pest control measures raise serious concerns about the level of service residents can expect. The lack of proactive maintenance, such as cleaning air ducts, also points to a potentially negligent approach to property management.
The features of Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community, based on these reviews, are overshadowed by the negative experiences reported. While the community offers manufactured homes for purchase or rent, the quality and upkeep of these homes, as well as the management's responsiveness to issues, appear to be significant drawbacks. The mention of moving to a "newly remodeled trailer" suggests that there may be different types of housing options available, but the poor quality of this particular remodeled unit is concerning.
Considering the platform category "RV parks near me," there is no direct mention of RV facilities or services in these reviews. The focus is entirely on the experiences of residents living in manufactured homes. Therefore, it is not possible to objectively assess whether Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community offers suitable or well-maintained facilities for RVs based on this information. Individuals searching for RV parks in the Pontoon Beach area should seek information from other sources regarding this specific aspect of the community.
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. Potential residents or RVers would need to contact the management directly to inquire about any current specials, rates, or incentives. However, given the serious concerns raised by the existing residents, it would be prudent to proceed with extreme caution and to thoroughly investigate the current conditions and management practices before committing to living at Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community.
In conclusion, the recent reviews for Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community in Pontoon Beach, IL, paint a deeply troubling picture. Residents report significant issues with management responsiveness, inadequate maintenance, unresolved structural problems, and pest infestations. These accounts suggest a living environment that is far from satisfactory and potentially detrimental to residents' well-being. While the community offers manufactured homes and may potentially accommodate long-term RV stays, the serious allegations made by these reviewers should serve as a significant warning to anyone considering living at Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community. It is strongly recommended to seek alternative housing options and to thoroughly investigate any mobile home or RV park before making a commitment.

Mallard Lake Manufactured Home Community Reviews
I've had a life of bad luck which is how I ended up living here. In 9 months, I've gone from being excited about having a place I can call my own to constant fixes on my purchased trailer, caused by ignorant management. They are the kind of people that would say "no one wants to work anymore" while putting in minimal effort. I've had AC issues multiple times and callously they refused to tell me that they had never cleaned the air ducts. These people aren't here to help. They want to take your money for no good reason other than to send it to their corporate overlords.
Aug 26, 2024 · Drew BergmarkLived here for around 5 or so years. I can tell you firsthand this place paints a bright picture but it is not worth a dime. After about 2 1/2 years we started having a leak in our kids room which we asked them to address and they threw a tarp on (that solves it!), which progressed to the entire left side of our house (2 bed rooms, a bathroom and half of our living room) ceilings were caving in when they finally decided to move us to another trailer… we get to this “newly remodeled trailer” to find that it’s horribly renovated, things are missing, broken, mismatched, you name it… “landlord special“ some might say..but we had no choice so we dealt. Only to find out it was infested with roaches. We bugged management about it multiple times to which they would just send the neighborhood bug guy out to lay down sticky traps that did nothing! Finally moved out last month and I am entirely grateful to be out of that place… spare yourself the nightmare of this place and move somewhere else!
Jul 24, 2024 · Lindsay SchoonoverQuiet for the most part. I love watching the Ducks and it is very pretty out there especially at night
May 05, 2024 · Ginger DanielsThe way the conduct management here is childish they will drive up and down your street to wait and see you leave your dogs out to make a problem or an excuse to bother you. They say shed is mandatory or you must store your lawnmower in your living room cuz it's not allowed to be put behind your deck and will site you if it's out.they hand themselves childishly and immature I'm so happy when I moved out. But I have noticed they don't comment on the detailed reviews on how they are horrible at managing but all the ones about the Beautiful.
Feb 13, 2024 · Rick RollNightmare office mangler after office mangler. There is no "Manager" in that office. They advertise a clubhouse, a playground and a beach. Can't use any of them. The "Clubhouse" is the office. The playground is taped off so none of the kids can use it. The beach is closed off to the residents. Maintenance doesn't really do much other than tell you to call the office when you need something repaired. We have porchs that are falling apart for the renters. Love the forced cuts to your lawn even if it was cut yesterday. Forced cuts come at an additional $50 to your rent and you might not get their notice but Office Mangler Laura makes sure to have a copy of the notice you didn't get. Beweare of the "well maintained homes." I have been in trailers that were tore up from the ground up infested with roaches but "it's well maintained." Welcome to Lake Shore/Sunny Shores version 2.0
