University Flats Mobile Home Park Introduce
Welcome to University Flats Mobile Home Park, located at 2900 Sand Rd, Edwardsville, IL 62025, USA. Situated in Edwardsville, Illinois, this community primarily serves as a residential area for manufactured homes. While the platform category "RV parks near me" suggests a potential interest from individuals seeking temporary or long-term RV accommodations, the available information focuses on the experiences of residents within the manufactured home context. This introduction aims to provide a detailed and objective overview of University Flats Mobile Home Park based on recent customer feedback found online, highlighting the transition to new ownership and the contrasting experiences reported by residents.
Based on the limited reviews available, University Flats Mobile Home Park appears to be a community undergoing a transition with new ownership. One recent review expresses optimism about the changes, stating, "We have just moved here and it's under new ownership with great ideas! I can't wait to see what's next here!" This suggests that the new management is bringing a fresh perspective and potential improvements to the community. The reviewer also mentions the appeal of the quiet environment, especially for those moving from a noisier location. They encourage others to "come see for yourself!" and highlight the availability of "rent to own opportunities," which could be an attractive option for individuals seeking homeownership without a traditional mortgage. The reviewer specifically praises Anita, identifying her as "a great lady" who is "very friendly" and knowledgeable. They also note that the maintenance crew is willing to help when they can, indicating a potentially positive shift in service under the new ownership. This review paints a picture of a community with promising developments and a welcoming atmosphere.
However, another review presents a significantly more negative perspective, seemingly reflecting the conditions under the previous ownership or perhaps issues that have yet to be fully addressed by the new management. This reviewer describes University Flats Mobile Home Park as "one of the dumpiest mobile home parks in the state of Illinois" and expresses shock at the poor condition of the roads within the community. They allege that the previous owner (or perhaps still the case) did not invest in the park's upkeep despite collecting rent. This individual recounts several serious maintenance issues experienced in their mobile home shortly after moving in, including "jerry rigged" electricity, a non-functional furnace, no air conditioning, and a water heater that quit working. They express the opinion that these issues should have been inspected and resolved before the sale. The reviewer claims that after signing the purchase papers, the manager stated that the property was bought "as is," leaving the new owners responsible for these significant repairs. The only positive aspect mentioned by this reviewer is the "country" feel of the nighttime environment.
Considering these two contrasting reviews, prospective residents, including those who might be looking for "RV parks near me" and encountering University Flats in their search, face a situation with both potential and significant challenges. The new ownership seems to be bringing positive changes, including friendly staff and potentially new programs like rent-to-own. However, there are also serious concerns about the infrastructure of the park, particularly the roads, and potential issues with the condition of some of the mobile homes, possibly stemming from a lack of prior maintenance. The "as is" sales policy mentioned in the negative review is a critical point that prospective buyers should be aware of and thoroughly investigate.
For individuals specifically searching for "RV parks near me" and considering University Flats, it is imperative to directly contact the management at (618) 656-7368 or +1 618-656-7368 to ascertain whether the community offers accommodations for recreational vehicles. If RV spaces are available, it would be crucial to inquire about the specific amenities provided (e.g., hookups for water, electricity, sewer), the size limitations for RVs, the layout of the RV area, and the condition of the roads leading to and within the RV section. Given the negative comments about the roads, this is a particularly important aspect for RV owners to consider.
Even if University Flats primarily focuses on manufactured homes, the reported maintenance issues and the "as is" sales policy could also be relevant for anyone considering purchasing a mobile home in the community. Prospective buyers should carefully inspect any property they are considering and have a clear understanding of their responsibilities for repairs and maintenance after the purchase. The positive comments about the willingness of the current maintenance crew to help (when they can) offer a glimmer of hope for improved service under the new ownership.
Given the stark contrast in the two available reviews, it is strongly recommended that anyone considering University Flats Mobile Home Park for either long-term residency or short-term RV stays seek additional, more current information. This could include looking for more recent reviews, if available, or attempting to connect with current residents to gain a broader perspective on the community's environment, services, and the progress being made under the new ownership. A personal visit to the property would be highly advisable to assess the condition of the roads and the overall appearance of the community firsthand. For those interested in the rent-to-own opportunities, a detailed understanding of the terms and conditions is essential.
In conclusion, University Flats Mobile Home Park in Edwardsville, IL, appears to be a community in transition with new ownership that has generated some initial positive feedback regarding friendliness and new opportunities like rent-to-own. However, there are also significant concerns stemming from past conditions, particularly regarding the poor state of the roads and potential maintenance issues with the mobile homes, some of which may be sold "as is." Prospective residents and RV travelers should carefully weigh these contrasting perspectives and conduct thorough due diligence, including direct communication with the new management and a personal visit, to determine if University Flats Mobile Home Park meets their needs and expectations. The mention of a quiet nighttime environment might be appealing, but it is crucial to assess the overall living conditions and the responsiveness of the new management to the infrastructure challenges.

We have just moved here and its under new ownership with great ideas! I cant wait to see whats next here! We love the quiet considering where we moved here from. Come see for yourself! They have places with rent to own opportunities! Anita is a great lady and was and is very friendly and can answer any questions. The maintenance crew are willing to help if they can. Feb 16, 2018 · Shawnda MarieThis is one of the dumpiest mobile home parks in the state of Illinois. I have never seen such bad roads in my life. The owner appears not to spend any money on the park but loves taking money in. The electricity was jerry rigged in our mobile home, the furnace didn't work, we've had no air conditioner & our water heater quit working right after moving in. Seems to me it should have all been checked before selling it to us. After we signed the papers the manager said "you bought it as is" so you are responsible!! The only good part is it feels like being in the country at night time.
Oct 01, 2017 · Linda MinterI drove through just to see if its worthy and livable place looks like a trailer park grave yard. Trailers are busted up and ran down some are missing windows. looks like some were used as scrap and parts to build a Frankenstein trailer. No joke see for your self. I would not live here.
