Described as "extremely quiet and peaceful," this RV park offers a serene setting for your recreational vehicle. Unlike larger, more crowded parks, Mt. CarMerriel boasts a smaller number of sites, estimated at around ten. This limited capacity contributes to the overall tranquility and ensures ample space between each site. Reviewers specifically note that when looking out your window, you are greeted by the sight of "trees and shade," rather than being in close proximity to your neighbors. This spacious layout enhances privacy and allows guests to truly immerse themselves in the natural surroundings, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.
The park's commitment to maintaining a pleasant environment is further evidenced by the description of it being "well kept" and "clean." This attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the overall comfort and appeal of the park. Guests can expect a tidy and well-maintained setting, enhancing their peace of mind and enjoyment of their stay. The "nice surroundings" mentioned by one reviewer further emphasize the appealing natural environment that Mt. CarMerriel RV Park offers.
In terms of services, Mt. CarMerriel RV Park offers essential amenities to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for RV travelers. The park provides "full hookups," which typically include water, sewer, and electricity connections at each site. This allows RVers to easily connect their essential utilities and enjoy the comforts of their home on wheels. Additionally, the park offers valuable complimentary services, including "free Wi-Fi" and "cable TV hookup." The availability of reliable Wi-Fi is a significant advantage for guests who need to stay connected for work or leisure, while the cable TV hookup provides entertainment options during downtime. These included services add considerable value to the overall guest experience.
The owner of Mt. CarMerriel RV Park is also highlighted in the reviews as being both respectful of guest privacy and readily available to assist with any needs or questions. One reviewer noted that the owner was "keen to privacy of people staying there but able to help or answer questions." This indicates a balanced approach to hospitality, where guests can enjoy their personal space while also having access to assistance when required. The "great little park" description further emphasizes its intimate and charming nature, offering a more personalized experience compared to larger, more commercialized RV parks.
While the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one reviewer noted the absence of "grill or picnic tables." However, they also mentioned that they had their own, so this was not an issue for them. This is a minor point to consider for potential guests who may rely on these amenities. It is advisable to confirm with the park management if any communal grilling or picnic areas are planned for the future or if guests should indeed bring their own if desired.

Mt. CarMerriel RV Park Reviews
This was a great find. Extremely quiet, and peaceful site for your RV. Maybe around 10 sites, some are long term, but all have ample space between, so if you look out your window, you see trees and shade, not your neighbor.Well kept, and has free Wi-Fi, cable TV hookup and necessities like water and sewer.Owner was keen to privacy of people staying there but able to help or answer questions.Right on the Indiana/Illinois border and right on the edge of Mt. Carmel.
Aug 11, 2021 · Loral JohnsonGreat little park off the beaten path. Nice surroundings and quiet. Full hookups with good Wi-Fi allowed me to work a little while we were there. They seem to keep the park clean and are very friendly. No grill or picnic tables but we had our own so this was not an issue for us.
Jun 19, 2023 · Teresa SmithMy family who lives in the area recommended this 8 site RV park and what a gem it turned out to be. The owners keep the campground well maintained. Our site (#8) was nicely graveled and had plenty of room for our 42' 5th wheel and truck. The 50amp, full hookup and good cable makes your stay very comfortable. We look forward to staying again! If there is one recommendation to make, an official fire ring would be a nice amenity.
Sep 21, 2020 · Peggy SavageVery Nice campground! Sites are full hookup and VERY Spacious! We have a 40 foot 5th wheel and did not unhook truck, that's how long the sites are! And was able to park our car beside our RV. Owners were super nice! We stayed for a week! Lots of shade and very quiet! 👍We will be back!
Sep 11, 2023 · ared allenClean, pleasant, very quiet. The owners are wonderful to work with, continuously working on improving the property. This was perfect for us, almost felt like we were out in the country, but we were just on the edge of town. We felt very safe. Very close to conveniences of the nice, quaint community. Rates were very reasonable, including full hook up, and even basic cable. Easy back in spaces. Loved hearing the hoot owls. High school track just down the road that's open to the public for walking. Everyone was feeling the challenge of dealing with days of horrendous rain, but you can't control mother nature. Would love to stay with the Merriel's again!
