Rocky River RV Resort Introduce
For those searching within the "RV parks near me" category in the vicinity of Kempner, Texas, Rocky River RV Resort, located at 11011 US-190, Kempner, TX 76539, USA, presents itself as an easily accessible option with a reputation for a friendly staff. You can contact them at (512) 932-1000 or +1 512-932-1000 for inquiries. However, recent customer reviews provide a mixed perspective, particularly regarding pet owners and overall cleanliness.
One reviewer described the staff as "fantastic people" and noted the easy accessibility of the location. This positive feedback regarding the staff's demeanor is echoed by another reviewer who stated that "everyone that worked there was so pleasant." This suggests that guests can generally expect a friendly and welcoming interaction with the park's personnel.
However, a significant concern raised by multiple reviewers pertains to pet owners. One guest explicitly advised pet owners to "definitely avoid" Rocky River RV Resort due to the abundance of burrs. They clarified that these were not necessarily sharp burrs but the type that easily get tangled in animal coats. This could lead to significant discomfort and grooming challenges for pets staying at the park.
Another reviewer who had a positive experience when the park first opened reported significant disappointment during a more recent stay. They noted a decline in cleanliness and an apparent inconsistency in the enforcement of park rules, particularly concerning long-term guests. This guest's primary complaint, however, also revolved around the issue of stickers (burrs), stating that their dog "couldn’t walk at all without getting stickers" and that their entire site was "full of them." They described this as a "total turn off" and painful for their pet. Furthermore, this reviewer recounted a highly unpleasant experience with dog feces being repeatedly left near their passenger side vehicle door by another guest, which they found "most disgusting" and even stepped in twice. Despite acknowledging the pleasantness of the staff, this reviewer felt that it could not compensate for these other significant issues.
Based on these reviews, Rocky River RV Resort offers the following potential features and drawbacks for those considering "RV parks near me":
- Easy accessibility: Located on US-190, suggesting convenient access for travelers.
- Friendly staff: Multiple reviewers praised the pleasant and welcoming nature of the park personnel.
However, the reviews also highlight several significant concerns:
- Severe burr infestation: Posing a significant problem for pet owners, potentially causing discomfort and requiring extensive grooming.
- Cleanliness issues: A decline in cleanliness was noted by a returning guest.
- Inconsistent rule enforcement: Leading to potential issues with other guests' behavior.
- Accumulation of pet waste: At least one instance of repeated failure to clean up after pets was reported.
The location in Kempner, Texas, offers a setting in Central Texas. Kempner is a smaller town, and its proximity to US-190 suggests that the RV park might be conveniently situated for those traveling through the area or visiting local attractions. However, the reviews do not provide specific details about the immediate environment or nearby amenities.
For individuals searching within the "RV parks near me" category, Rocky River RV Resort presents a situation where the friendly staff and easy access are positive aspects. However, the significant issues raised regarding the pervasive burrs (making it potentially unsuitable for pets) and concerns about cleanliness and rule enforcement are serious drawbacks that prospective guests must carefully consider.
Promotional information is not available in the provided reviews. To inquire about any current specials, long-term stay discounts, or any steps the management might have taken to address the issues raised in the reviews (particularly regarding the burrs and cleanliness), it is crucial to contact Rocky River RV Resort directly at (512) 932-1000 or +1 512-932-1000. This direct communication would allow potential guests to get the most up-to-date information and assess whether the park meets their specific needs and expectations, especially if traveling with pets.
In conclusion, while Rocky River RV Resort in Kempner, TX, is noted for its easily accessible location and friendly staff, the significant concerns raised by recent reviews, particularly the severe burr problem for pet owners and issues related to cleanliness and rule enforcement, cannot be ignored. Prospective guests, especially those traveling with animals, are strongly advised to contact the management directly to discuss these issues and obtain current information before making a decision about staying at this RV park. Weighing the positive feedback about the staff against the negative experiences regarding the environment and cleanliness is essential when considering Rocky River RV Resort as one of the "RV parks near me."

Rocky River RV Resort Reviews
Fantastic people and easy to access but if you have pets, I would definitely avoid. This place has so many burrs, not necessarily the sharp ones, but the ones that get tangled up in animal coats.
Dec 12, 2024 · Kendra AshenbrennerI really, really hate ever giving bad reviews. Tried to email the owner so I could just discuss my issue with them. I’m not sure it kicked back or just no answer. We stayed here when it first opened and it was such a clean and pleasurable experience. We play the Lampasas tournament and usually try to stay across the street from the golf course. Since it was full this time we decided to stay here. Was so very disappointed! It was not so clean and all the rules it has listed seem not to apply to all of the long term guests. My real complaint is the fact that our dog couldn’t walk at all without getting stickers!! Our whole site was full of them. Totally a turn off! And painful for our dog. But what was even most disgusting thing ever! was every time I got in and out of my passenger side a dog craps right there!!! We pick our dog crap up and he’s small! These were BIG piles and guess what?….The worst!!!! I stepped in it with my golf shoes twice!!! This is unacceptable!!!So, again, I am sorry to have to write this because everyone that worked there was so pleasant but that just can’t make up for the rest.
Jul 22, 2024 · Bobbi Jo BellmerMy month-long stay at Rocky River in Oak Tree Cabin #6 was perfect! I loved having the shower room separate so the humidity did not interfere with my living space. Staff members were super friendly and went above and beyond to get me into my room as quickly as possible. I look forward to my next stay with them.
Dec 02, 2022 · Rebecca WillsI have lived here for over a year. I love it here-the river, the quiet, the great neighbors, and the location is so convenient! The dog wash is such a useful feature, especially after a trip to the river which my dog loves.I have lived in other RV parks but this one is truly special. The fire rings are well set up and there is even firewood provided.
Jan 07, 2022 · Cathy LoveladyWhile working at Fort Hood, I stayed at Rocky River for right at 1 year from February 2019 to February 2020. I had absolutely no issues while being here. Based on my endless work schedule, I never had a chance to eat from the café but considering the way everything else was run, I’m sure it was good. I don’t drink coffee so can’t speak to that either. Owners are extremely personable and easy to get along with. Reading some of the more recent reviews, it sounds like continuous upgrades have been made since I was there. Never had any problems with the wifi either. If I’m the area again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay with them. No question about it. Excellent hosts.
