Rutledge Lake RV Park Introduce
If you're searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in the Fletcher, North Carolina area, Rutledge Lake RV Park, located at 125 Jillian Trail, Fletcher, NC 28732, USA, presents a destination with a mix of experiences, according to recent reviews. You can contact them at (828) 654-7873 or their mobile number, +1 828-654-7873, to inquire about availability and specific details.
One reviewer described their experience as "below average," noting that all sites are stone with no grass and are situated fairly close together, potentially feeling "backed right up to the camper behind you." They also observed a significant number of permanent long-term residents, including workers who might have been part of a disaster recovery team. This suggests a community with a blend of transient and more permanent occupants. The reviewer also mentioned that the pool was not open during their early-season visit, so they could not comment on that amenity, and concluded they would likely not stay again unless necessary, preferring a more traditional campground feel.
In contrast, another visitor who stayed for a week at the end of July 2024 had a much more positive experience. They were initially concerned about site size but found their site (number 52, near the bathhouse and pool) to be adequate for their 48 ft. RV, with enough room to park their truck and even lower their deck. This indicates that some sites can accommodate larger RVs. They also noted that maneuvering through the park was manageable. This reviewer highlighted several "great amenities," including a pool, a recreation room, a small dog park in the back, a playground, reasonably priced laundry facilities ($2 wash and $2 dry), and even free paddle boats. These features suggest that Rutledge Lake RV Park offers a range of activities and conveniences for its guests.
This second reviewer shared an anecdote about frequent unexpected rain showers hindering their attempts at hiking and paddle boating, which, while not a fault of the park, is a local environmental factor to be aware of. They also praised the park's responsiveness, specifically mentioning Adam, who promptly brought them change for the laundry after hours in the rain when the office was closed and no change machine was available. This highlights a commitment to customer service even outside of regular hours.
However, this more positive review also pointed out a couple of areas for improvement. They suggested that important information should be relayed at least a day in advance, preferably via email, as the campground attempted to call twice on their check-in day while they were driving. Additionally, the reviewer's wife found the shower curtain in the bathhouse to be too narrow and suggested lockable doors as a better alternative for privacy. These comments offer constructive feedback on communication and facility details.
An interesting update in the second review is regarding a gun policy. The information the reviewer had previously seen appeared to be outdated, as they noted that "gun owners are welcome now!" This suggests a potential change in park policy that might be relevant to some travelers.
Based on these reviews, Rutledge Lake RV Park offers a blend of features and experiences:
- Sites that can accommodate large RVs (as large as 48 ft.).
- Amenities including a pool, recreation room, small dog park, playground, and reasonably priced laundry.
- Free paddle boats for guests to enjoy on Rutledge Lake.
- Responsive after-hours service, as demonstrated by the delivery of change for laundry.
- A location in Fletcher, NC, providing access to the natural beauty and attractions of the area.
However, potential visitors should also consider:
- Some sites are all stone with no grass and are relatively close together.
- The park has a mix of transient and potentially numerous long-term residents.
- Communication regarding important information could be improved by utilizing email in advance of arrival.
- The bathhouse facilities might have areas for improvement, such as shower curtains.
While one reviewer's preference leaned towards a more traditional campground with grassy sites, the other highlighted the ample space for a large RV, the variety of amenities, and the helpful service. The presence of long-term residents could foster a sense of community for longer stays but might also contribute to a different atmosphere than a purely transient campground.
For those searching "RV Parks Near Me" in the Fletcher area, Rutledge Lake RV Park offers a range of amenities that could appeal to families and those looking for activities beyond just parking their RV. The inclusion of a pool, rec room, playground, and paddle boats provides opportunities for recreation. The positive feedback regarding the size of some sites and the responsiveness of the staff are also noteworthy.
To make an informed decision, potential visitors should contact Rutledge Lake RV Park directly at (828) 654-7873 or +1 828-654-7873 to inquire about site availability, specific site features (size, hookups, etc.), the operational status of the pool and other amenities, and any current policies. Asking about the ratio of long-term to short-term residents might also help set expectations for the community atmosphere. By gathering current and detailed information, prospective guests can determine if Rutledge Lake RV Park aligns with their preferences for their stay in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Rutledge Lake RV Park Reviews
I would rate this place below average (3 stars is average). All the sites are all stone with no grass. They are fairly close together. They’re kind of backed right up to the camper behind you. There were lots of permanent long-term residence staying here, there were also lots of workers using it as they’re working home. They could be part of the flooding disaster, recovery team. It was too early in the season for the pool to be open so I couldn’t comment on that. I don’t think I’d stay here again unless I had to, I prefer a more standard campground. The photos people have already shared do a good job showing the place.
Apr 25, 2025 · Rich CloseWe stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Park for a week at the end of July in 2024. We really enjoyed our stay here. Before we arrived, we were a little concerned that the site wouldn't be large enough, but it turned out to be fine for our 48 ft. RV since we were able to park our truck next to it (site 52 right by the bath house and pool). We even had room to drop the deck in the back. There is enough room to maneuver through the park, and there are great amenities such as a pool, rec room, small dog park in the back, a playground, reasonably priced laundry ($2 and $2), and even free paddle boats. Every time we attempted to go on a hike or paddle boat, we were soaked by a giant rain shower that wasn't on radar 5 minutes before, but hopefully you'll be luckier, lol. We needed to dry our soaked clothes, but were out of change and the office was closed. Unfortunately, they do not have a change machine, but when we texted the after-hours number they were happy to bring change to our site, even in the pouring rain - shout out to Adam! There were some issues though. First, any important information should be relayed at least a day in advance, preferably via email. The campground tried calling twice on the day of check-in when we are obviously busy driving there. Also, my wife used the bathhouse once when I was repairing something in our shower, and she said one of the curtains was too narrow and ideally should be lockable doors instead. Edit: The info we saw about a gun policy must have been out of date, as they say gun owners are welcome now! Bonus tip: go eat at Acropolis Pizza - AWESOME Greek and Italian food!
Aug 19, 2024 · David BottomleyBuyer Beware: I had a terrible experience at Rutledge Lake RV Park, and I strongly advise against staying here. The staff is incredibly shady and untrustworthy. Their cancellation policy was clearly stated in the confirmation email, but when I needed to cancel, they changed the rules on the fly to benefit themselves. It felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of customers when they’re most vulnerable.I was shocked by their lack of integrity and professionalism. They will manipulate their policies to suit their needs without any regard for the customer. Don't be fooled by the nice surroundings or the friendly faces; the management's shady tactics ruin any chance of a good experience. There are plenty of other options in the area that will treat you with the respect you deserve. Save yourself the headache and avoid Rutledge Lake RV Park at all costs!
Sep 22, 2024 · Clint WatsonEverything that you want and need for a pleasant camping experience. Full hook ups, friendly staff, nice lake for fishing & paddle boats, clean bath house & laundry mat, & convenient to restaurants and grocery stores.
Dec 22, 2024 · Glenna FosterFantastic spot nestled in the mountains. All spots are very level as are the grounds. Gated park so you can feel safe about your kids riding bicycles around. Fantastic lake with kayaks canoes and paddle boats free to use with lot rental. They have a recreation hall with full kitchen big screen Television, board games billiards and ping pong. A very friendly and welcoming staff that actually escort you to your spot and help you back in. Don’t miss this place if you’re passing through.
