Ashley Creek RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in the Arden area, conveniently located near Asheville, North Carolina, Ashley Creek RV Park, situated at 227 Ball Gap Rd, Arden, NC 28704, USA, presents itself as a potential option. They can be reached at (828) 684-8030 or +1 828-684-8030. Based on the available customer reviews, Ashley Creek RV Park offers a mixed experience, with some positive aspects regarding its facilities and management, but also significant concerns raised by other visitors that potential guests should carefully consider.
A Natural Environment with Both Appeal and Potential Drawbacks:
The natural environment surrounding Ashley Creek RV Park has some appealing features. One reviewer noted the presence of a "Small babbling brook along the backside," which could contribute to a peaceful and pleasant atmosphere for some campsites. The mention of "bears" in the area indicates that the park is located in a region where wildlife is present, necessitating caution and proper food storage to ensure safety. While one reviewer hadn't seen any bears during their stay, the acknowledgment of their presence is an important environmental factor to be aware of.
However, not all aspects of the physical environment received positive feedback. One reviewer described the "spots" as "short," which could be a significant limitation for larger RVs and might affect the comfort and ease of parking. The lack of detail about the overall layout and spacing of the sites makes it difficult to assess the general ambiance and privacy offered.
The proximity to Asheville city is highlighted as "very convenient," which could be a major advantage for those wishing to explore the urban amenities, attractions, and cultural scene of Asheville while staying in a more natural setting. This location offers a balance between access to city life and the tranquility of an RV park environment.
Services and Amenities: Mixed Feedback and Limitations:
In terms of services and amenities, Ashley Creek RV Park receives mixed reviews. On the positive side, one reviewer praised the "quiet, clean bath house," which is an essential facility for many RV travelers and tent campers. The ability to "get mail and packages" is another practical service that can be beneficial for both short-term and longer-term stays. The park operates on a "first come, first serve" basis, which means that reservations are not typically taken, and site availability is based on arrival time. Payment is accepted via "cash or check," which is important to note as other forms of payment may not be available.
However, there are notable concerns regarding other aspects. The comment about being "Lenient with dogs" is described as "kind of a problem" by one reviewer, who mentions their dog having been attacked in other RV parks. This suggests that the park's policies regarding pets might not be strictly enforced, potentially leading to negative interactions between animals and concerns about safety for pet owners. This is a significant factor for local users traveling with dogs.
The most concerning feedback comes from a reviewer who stated, "If your looking to get high, then this is the place" and followed up with highly negative comments, including a comparison to a Jeff Foxworthy "redneck" stereotype and advising those with "any self respect" to "avoid this place" as it's "creepy." This kind of feedback raises serious questions about the atmosphere and the type of clientele that might frequent the park, suggesting potential issues with drug use and an unsettling environment for some visitors. These are critical points that local users should weigh heavily when considering Ashley Creek RV Park.
Features and Highlights: Convenience and Potential Negatives:
One of the primary features of Ashley Creek RV Park is its convenient location near Asheville, providing easy access to the city's attractions, restaurants, and services. The presence of a small babbling brook could be an appealing natural feature for some campsites, offering a pleasant auditory backdrop and a touch of nature.
The quiet and clean bathhouse is another positive feature mentioned by a reviewer, indicating that at least this essential facility is well-maintained and provides a comfortable experience.
However, the "first come, first serve" policy, while offering flexibility for spontaneous travelers, can also be a drawback for those who prefer the security of a reservation, especially during peak seasons or for those traveling from a distance.
The leniency with dogs, while potentially seen as a positive by some pet owners, is flagged as a problem due to potential safety concerns regarding dog interactions. This highlights the importance of understanding the park's pet policies and the behavior of other animals present.
The deeply concerning negative reviews, suggesting a problematic atmosphere and potential illegal activity, are significant features that cannot be ignored. These comments raise serious red flags about the safety, comfort, and overall experience of staying at Ashley Creek RV Park.
Lack of Promotional Information and Critical Considerations:
There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews for Ashley Creek RV Park. Local users will need to inquire directly with the management about any potential discounts, special rates, or long-term stay options.
Given the stark contrast in the provided reviews, local users searching for "RV Parks Near Me" should approach Ashley Creek RV Park with significant caution. The positive aspects, such as the quiet bathhouse, nice manager (Ralph is specifically mentioned), and proximity to Asheville, are countered by serious concerns about the dog policy, the potential for a negative atmosphere, and even suggestions of illegal activity.
Before considering a stay at Ashley Creek RV Park, local users are strongly advised to:
- Contact the Manager (Ralph): Speak directly with the manager to inquire about the park's policies, particularly regarding pets, security, and the general atmosphere. Ask for clarification on the concerns raised in the negative reviews.
- Seek Additional Reviews: Look for more recent reviews on other platforms to get a broader understanding of the current conditions and experiences of other visitors.
- Consider Alternatives: Explore other RV parks in the Arden and Asheville areas to compare amenities, policies, and overall reputations.
- Exercise Caution: If you do decide to stay, be particularly vigilant about your belongings, your pets, and your surroundings.
In conclusion, Ashley Creek RV Park offers a location convenient to Asheville and has some positive aspects like a quiet bathhouse and a seemingly nice manager. However, the significant concerns raised by some reviewers regarding the dog policy and the overall atmosphere of the park cannot be dismissed lightly. Local users searching for "RV Parks Near Me" should carefully weigh these factors and consider seeking further information and potentially exploring alternative options to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Quiet, clean bath house, short spots, first come, first serve. Ralph, manager, is very nice. Small babbling brook along the backside. Obviously, bears. Haven't seen any yet. Can get mail and packages. Cash or check.Lenient with dogs. That's kind of a problem. Ours has been attacked in other RV parks. Very convenient to Asheville city.
Apr 28, 2024 · Salvatore SantanielloIf your looking to get high, then this is the place. This is one of those places, that Jeff Foxworthy talks about. “If you own a home, with several wheels on it and cars without... Or if you have to go outside, to get something outta the fridge…you might be a redneck. For real though, if you have any self respect, avoid this place; it’s creepy.
Jul 06, 2024 · Priscilla HortonThe worst rv park. Stay away, residents are loud, foul mouthed drunks. Lighting off Roman candles at 9:30pm on a Wednesday night - NOT a holiday. The washed out road into the place is up a steep hill. Stay Away!
Jun 13, 2024 · Brian kralovecThis is such a cute little hideaway campground. Quiet and secluded. The residence here are all very kind. Management is wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay. It's a beautiful nature oasis.Thank you for your hospitality.
May 18, 2023 · Cher'rie Dawn LacondrataWe intended to stay, then changed our minds after spending over an hour trying to back in our RV into a tight spot with hookups in the back instead of on the side.Pros:* Ralph, the owner, is very patient.* The guests were helpful in our situation.* There were children riding bikes throughout the property, so it seemed family friendly, despite reviews saying otherwise.* $35/night for full hookups!Cons:* Only cash/checks accepted* No reservations. First come, first served* The spots are all back in, tight fitting, only a few feet between neighbors.* Some guests are using the outdoors as storage. Think furniture, vacuum cleaners, paint thinner, etc.FYI:* Google maps led us on the wrong road. We didn't get cell service until we turned around and drove to an area with cell service to call the office to ask for better directions.* Some guests were smoking the entire time we were there. If you have allergies to second hand smoke, this info might be helpful to you.
