If you're browsing under the category "RV Parks Near Me," Wilson's Riverfront RV Park, located at 225 Amboy Rd, Asheville, NC 28806, USA, is an option to consider. You can reach them at (828) 254-4676 or +1 828-254-4676 for inquiries and reservations.
Based on recent customer reviews, Wilson's Riverfront RV Park offers a unique experience with both advantages and potential drawbacks. It's important to consider these perspectives to determine if this park aligns with your needs and expectations.
One of the frequently mentioned positives is the park's convenient proximity to Asheville. This makes it an attractive base for exploring the city and its surrounding attractions. Additionally, reviewers appreciated the concrete pads available at the campsites, which can provide a stable and level surface for RVs and campers.
The park's riverfront location is another significant draw, with some sites offering pleasant river views. Access to a nearby bike path is also highlighted as a valuable amenity, providing opportunities for recreation and exploring the local area. The small-ish size of the campground is seen as a positive by some, potentially contributing to a more intimate atmosphere. Furthermore, the price point was considered a decent value by at least one reviewer.
For added convenience, the park offers morning trash pick-up at the campsites, and the online check-in process is reported to be easy and efficient.
However, it's crucial to be aware of some potential challenges mentioned in the reviews. One recurring comment concerns the sharpness of the turn into the RV park, which may pose difficulties for larger RVs. Additionally, the park experiences pedestrian and bicycle traffic passing through the middle of the campground, as it appears to be integrated with a local trail system. While some might appreciate the accessibility to the path, others may find the through-traffic less desirable for a traditional campground feel.
The campsites are noted to be close together, which might limit privacy and personal space. Another consistent observation is the park's proximity to an interstate highway. While one reviewer found the noise level to be manageable and slept through it without issue, others might be more sensitive to highway noise. It's worth noting that one reviewer explicitly mentioned that they were unsure what level of quiet some previous reviewers were expecting given the location next to a highway.
A significant area of concern raised by a reviewer pertains to the bathroom facilities. While the toilets were reported to be new and the showers hot, the overall cleanliness was questioned. The reviewer noted that the bathrooms smelled badly for most of their three-night stay and observed the same trash, hair, and bugs remaining in place over multiple days, suggesting infrequent cleaning.
Another issue mentioned was the presence of transient individuals entering the campground. One specific instance involved someone asking to tie tarps to the reviewer's vehicle and then spending the evening nearby, talking to themselves. While the reviewer acknowledged that homelessness is a broader issue in the area and not necessarily the park's direct fault, they suggested that implementing some security measures might be beneficial for the comfort and safety of paying guests.
Regarding fishing in the river, one reviewer attempted it and had one good day, catching smallmouth bass, catfish, and bluegills. However, they also cautioned that fishing lines are likely to get stuck on rocks frequently due to a reported 7-foot drop to the water and the presence of trees along the riverbank.
In conclusion, Wilson's Riverfront RV Park offers a convenient location near Asheville with riverfront access and proximity to a bike path. The concrete pads, easy online check-in, and trash pick-up are appreciated amenities. However, potential guests should be aware of the sharp turn into the park, the close proximity of campsites, the potential for highway noise, concerns about bathroom cleanliness, and the presence of through-traffic and transient individuals. While one reviewer mentioned it being a decent value for the money and would probably recommend it overall, it's essential for prospective visitors to weigh these pros and cons based on their individual preferences and priorities when searching within the "RV Parks Near Me" category.
We encourage local users exploring "RV Parks Near Me" in the Asheville area to consider Wilson's Riverfront RV Park, keeping in mind the feedback provided by previous guests. It appears to be a park with a mix of appealing features and areas that could be improved. Visiting the park or contacting them directly to inquire about recent improvements or address specific concerns raised in the reviews might be a helpful step in making an informed decision.

Wilson's Riverfront RV Park Reviews
I enjoyed 4 nights at the Wilson's Riverfront RV Park. All the other reviews are correct. Yes, the turn is to sharp for a RV. Yes, you will have runners, bikers, and walkers going through the middle of the campground. Yes, the spots are close together. Yes, you will be next to an interstate. With that being said, I did enjoy staying at the campground. I wasn't hopeful about fishing after seeing the 7 ft. drop to the water and all the trees. Tried anyways to fish and had one good day. Caught small mouth, catfish and bluegills. Just expect your line to get stuck a lot on rocks.
Aug 29, 2024 · Shelby RobertsWe stayed here for 3 nights with our small camper. Some things we liked about this campground: the proximity to Asheville, the concrete pads underneath the campers, the river view, the trash pick-up each morning, the easy online check-in process, the access to the bike path, the small-ish size, and the price.Honestly, the noise level was not bad. It's next to a highway, so I'm not sure what kind of silent evening miracle people were expecting in previous reviews? We slept through it with no problem! However, we were really disappointed with the bathroom situation. The first day, someone was actively cleaning it. But, judging by the same pieces of trash/hair clumps/bugs being in the same place on my 3rd day there, it's safe to say it isn't cleaned very often. The toilets were new and the showers were hot, but the bathrooms smelled badly for most of the time. The only other issue is that a lot of transient folks were making their way into the campground; one guy even asking if he could tie his tarps to our vehicle. He spent the rest of the evening talking to himself and fidgeting with his site about a foot from our camper windows. It's not necessarily Wilson's fault, as homelessness is an issue in this area, but maybe some security measures can be put into effect?Overall, I would probably recommend this campground, as it is a decent value for the money.
Jul 07, 2024 · Dana BonarrigoWe stayed for three nights. The spaces are all back in, it’s very cramped & hard to find.. gps brings you way down the road. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone days before or day of to help figure out where they were located or to help with anything for that matter. It’s literally NEXT to the interstate so it’s quite noisy day & night. There is a bike/park path that runs from a park down the street right through the RV park so there are people and animals just walking, jogging and riding through nonstop all day long! It IS close to town and everything you want to go see, and that’s its ONLY saving grace! The sewage is so gross we couldn’t leave the black water open without strong orders & bugs invading our camper! I did finally reach someone through email for a question about our reservation but it was not very helpful. It wasn’t the worst place but far from the best! Definitely overpriced for what it is.I had read some other reviews saying how disgusting the bathrooms were so I didn’t bother exploring those areas.
Jul 25, 2024 · Julie RiggsWell it is in a great location, right off the hwy and on a river, but the campground is very difficult to access. The on line service was great, we had no communication with anyone on property. We were on site 12 and there was a downpour of rain and we expected a lot of water except lot 12 is the only space there that held 6-8" of water hours and the day after. It isn't properly drained as are the other lots. We would've stated another day but it was so wet on our lot we couldn't enjoy the space.
Jul 21, 2024 · TAPVery small and right on the interstate so very noisy all night. Also there is a bike path running through the middle of the campground in front of the campers. It is very busy and dangerous especially for small children. The bikers are going so fast they don’t pay attention to people in the way.
