The environment at Salmon River RV Park is a key highlight, as echoed by numerous satisfied visitors. For those seeking a more immersive natural experience, the tent sites located down by the river offer a tranquil ambiance with the soothing sounds of flowing water. These campsites are generously sized, as one reviewer noted accommodating more than two tents comfortably. Each tent site is thoughtfully equipped with clean picnic tables, convenient fire pits, and even trash cans, enhancing the camping experience. The presence of a grove of trees around the tent area creates a sense of being truly immersed in nature, while also providing a welcome buffer from any potential road noise.

This creates a sense of community and security within the park.
One minor point of feedback from a tent camper was the brightness of the security lights at night. While these lights provided a sense of safety, they were noted as being quite bright in the tent area. This is a trade-off that many campers consider acceptable for the added security they provide.

Salmon River RV Park Reviews
We stayed in the tent sites down by the river. You can hear the river in the background and was very soothing. The campsite we were in (T3) was large enough for more than the 2 tents we had.Very clean with great tables and fire pit (and a trash can which was wonderful) the site is in a little grove of trees so feels like your really in nature. The tent sites are protected from a lot of the road noise. Our time here was very quiet and the service was great. If you stay here you do need to respect that this is also a lot of people's permanent homes and they are protective of themselves and their environment. Personally this made me feel safer here as 2 women traveling together, the fact that there were people really caring about the place. The only negative that i can offer here is that the security lights are bright in the tent. They did create a vibe of safety though so i was happy to have them on.
Aug 03, 2021 · Carolyn ClarkeAwesome campground along the Salmon River near Otis. Nice big tent sites and the bath houses are clean and sanitized. Extremely quiet campground especially in the back of the park where the tent sites are. No campfires allowed right now due to the fire ban first time in history. Not far from Lincoln city if you want to shop. Great fishing on this river especially in the fall for salmon. Owner operated which is nice and it keeps the rates down. Great place for living in an RV. Park is incredibly clean and we had a great experience camping here. Nice gem to have in Oregon for sure. Good place for groups and families. Reservations recommended during the summer.
Sep 17, 2021 · Brian FochtMy mother is looking to stay here as a permanent place. She is getting on there waiting list and I have walked around the campground with her. It is very nice, I've been to many campgrounds and I like this one. I have attached a picture of the Horseshoe area and I think that's kind of neat along with being able to walk down to the creek. It feels like it's a small community here and that to me same is safe in comparison to being elsewhere. I hope she can get in here, thank you.
Dec 09, 2019 · Adventure MckinleyWORST camping experience I have ever had!! Doesn’t even deserve the one star. I was planning my camping trip in Oregon for over 6 months, Lisa was extremely accommodating and kind, which made me think it was going to be a good stay. However her husband on the other hand is CRAZY! My boyfriend and I supposedly “turned into the park” too fast (keep in mind you are turning off of a highway, so we probably turned at about 10-15 MPH) so he came over to our campsite waving a gun in our faces saying he was going to shoot out all four of our tires and we could get towed out of there. First of all, I had never once met or seen this man, so to have him come over and wave a revolver in our face and threaten to shoot out my tires was intimidating enough, let alone for him to proceed to yell at us for 5 minutes (with very vulgar words and the gun still in hand.) Then to top it off, Lisa watched everything happen. We packed up our stuff and left to a different campground as soon as we could. No one ONCE apologized for this mans ridiculous and uncalled for behavior, and when I talked to the assistant manager about it, he had a loss for words and acted like it was an okay thing for him to do. As an avid traveler and camper, I never in my life have had a camping experience this awful and scary, I hope no one ever has to experience what we did there.Edit: as a response to Elizabeth’s comment, we did not drive 30 MPH through the camp ground, we didn’t drive over 15 MPH as we couldn’t have even safely turned in my SUV at 30 MPH. nor did we slam on our breaks at any time. But beyond that, there would have been MANY better ways to address the issue rather than having a stranger threatening us with a gun. I still regret not filing a police report.
Apr 06, 2019 · Alexandra AltNice quiet and wooded place near a small river. The owner helped us park and set up our water and electricity. There's a large pile of free firewood if you need some. Dogs are welcomed as long as they are leashed and you pick up after them. We put our small dogs on two lanyards from Walmart. Good area to walk them too. Residents are quiet and respectful. Slow down way before the turn off or you may miss it!
