South Sound RV Park Introduce
Searching for "RV parks near me" in the Puyallup, Washington area? South Sound RV Park, located at 7910 River Rd E, Puyallup, WA 98371, offers a potential option for those seeking both short-term and long-term RV stays. You can reach them at (253) 256-4781 or +1 253-256-4781 for inquiries about availability and specific details.
Based on recent customer reviews, South Sound RV Park presents a somewhat varied experience for its residents. It's important to consider both the positive and negative feedback to form an objective understanding of what this RV park offers. Let's delve into the details provided by online reviews.
Environment and Atmosphere:
One recent reviewer, who had been living at South Sound RV Park for almost three months with their husband and two-year-old child, described the park as "quiet" and "clean." They also noted that most of the tenants were friendly. This positive feedback suggests that the park may offer a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, which can be a significant factor for many RVers. The reviewer also mentioned that the owner had done a "really good job" cleaning up the place compared to previous conditions they had seen in pictures and heard from others.
In contrast, another reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the management and the overall living conditions. This highlights the potential for differing experiences among residents, possibly influenced by the duration of their stay or specific incidents encountered.
Services and Amenities:
One area of concern raised by a reviewer pertains to the laundry facilities. They reported that the washing machines were malfunctioning and that the management had not replaced them. Furthermore, the prices for the existing machines were increased from $1.50 to $2.00. This reviewer also mentioned that the machines could stop mid-wash and "eat quarters," leading to frustration and financial loss for residents. The availability and functionality of laundry facilities are often crucial for RV park residents, especially those staying long-term.
Another significant issue raised was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. According to one reviewer, the bathrooms were cleaned only once a month. They stated that unless residents complained about the poor condition, they would have to endure the infrequent cleaning schedule. This level of cleanliness in shared facilities can be a major concern for hygiene and overall comfort.
The reviews do not provide extensive details about other specific amenities that might be available at South Sound RV Park. Typically, RV parks offer hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, but these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided feedback. It would be prudent for potential residents to inquire about the availability and reliability of these essential services directly with the management.
Management and Rules:
There are conflicting perspectives on the management. One long-term resident who initially provided a positive review later added a crucial note for potential tenants: they advised calling and speaking directly to the owner, Justin, as the park was reportedly "in between managers," and anyone else claiming to be the manager might not be truthful. This situation suggests a period of instability or transition in the park's management, which could impact the residents and the overall operation of the facility.
The positive reviewer mentioned that there are "simple rules to follow" and that adhering to these rules ensures a pleasant stay. They appreciated that the park is family and pet friendly, indicating that these are important aspects of the community. The sense of residents "looking out for each other" also suggests a positive community dynamic, at least for some residents.
However, the negative reviewer's comments about the management's handling of malfunctioning washing machines and the infrequent bathroom cleaning paint a less favorable picture. They also mentioned "other reviews" detailing rent increases, suggesting potential issues with cost and management practices over time.
Features and Community:
The positive reviewer highlighted the quiet and clean environment as key features they appreciated. The friendliness of most tenants also contributed to their positive experience. The fact that the park is family and pet friendly suggests that it caters to a diverse range of RVers, including those traveling with children and animals.
The mention of residents "looking out for each other" indicates a sense of community and mutual support among some of the tenants, which can be a significant benefit of living in an RV park.
However, it's important to balance these positive aspects with the negative experiences reported by another reviewer, particularly regarding the lack of maintenance for facilities and the infrequent cleaning schedule.
Promotional Information:
Based on the provided information, there is no specific promotional content available for South Sound RV Park. The reviews focus on personal experiences and observations rather than any advertised specials or incentives. Potential residents should contact the park directly to inquire about current rates, availability, and any ongoing promotions.
Conclusion:
South Sound RV Park in Puyallup, WA, appears to be a location with both positive and negative aspects, according to recent online reviews. Some residents appreciate the quiet, clean, and friendly atmosphere, as well as the family and pet-friendly policies. The sense of community among some tenants is also a notable positive. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding the management's responsiveness to maintenance issues (specifically with laundry facilities), the infrequent cleaning schedule for bathrooms, and potential instability in park management. Reports of rent increases in other reviews (not detailed here) also warrant consideration.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in the Puyallup area, South Sound RV Park presents a mixed picture. While some have had positive experiences, the reported issues with facilities and management should not be overlooked. Potential tenants are strongly advised to contact the owner, Justin (as recommended by a long-term resident), to inquire about the current management situation, the condition of amenities, and the park's policies. Visiting the park in person to assess the environment and the state of the facilities would also be a prudent step before making a decision about staying at South Sound RV Park.

South Sound RV Park Reviews
Management doesn't how how to keep people happy, they won't replace malfunctioning washing machines; they actually increased the prices on those machines ($1.50 -> $2.00) which can stop mid-wash and eat quarters, the bathrooms are cleaned only once a month so unless you complain about how bad it can get you'll have to wait. There are other reviews that have more to say like how they keep jacking the rent up. Overall I wouldn't recommend living here unless you want to take it to the BBB and see if they can do anything about it.
May 10, 2025 · CaseyTo any potential tenants, please make sure when you call, you speak to the owner, Justin. We are currently in between managers, and if anyone claims to be the manager, besides the owner, they are lying. With that being said, this is still a great place to live, below is my original review, we've been here for over a year now.My husband, 2 year old and I have lived here for almost 3 months! Before deciding to come to SSRVP, we checked out a lot of other RV parks that were dirty and had questionable people living in them. We absolutely love how quiet, clean and how most of the tenants are friendly! From what I've seen from previous pictures and stories from complete strangers, the owner did a really good job with getting this place cleaned up.There are simple rules to follow, as there should be. Follow the rules and you'll be just fine. I love that it is family and pet friendly. We look out for each other here, and that is amazing! We are truly blessed that we found this place when we did, I couldn't imagine living in any other RV park around here.
Jun 14, 2018 · Nicole Dnot the best RV park to live in.we lived there for about 7 months and was a great place and a family community with the old managers. We had football party's outside, community BBQ and now the new managers don't have that anymore. Now there are so many rules there you cant do anything. dogs have rules also, time limit on the showers plus the showers are never cleaned right they are cleaned by other tenants in the park and never stocked with paper towels or toilet paper the women bathroom smells like urine all the time. some residents are friendly and some are not. alot of them complain about the smallest most stupid things like barking dogs when their dogs do the same. They also screw you over on your deposit and find any way to not give your deposit back. The owners are great people and the maintenance is great but management is very hard to deal with. Would not recommend staying here. Find better parks in the area and save yourself the heartache.
Jul 11, 2017 · Jason JohnsonThis rv place has potential if they get rid of the people who work there and get someone who knows what customer service means. The management was rude and very unpleasant to deal with. The rv spaces were to tight and not enough room for cars to park. The bathrooms were never cleaned right or stocked with toilet paper or paper towels or hand soap. Was not kid or pet friendly as they say it is. Neighbors complain alot to much drama here. It was like an adult daycare not an rv park. Cops were always there for domestic violence calls. Would not recommend this rv park to anyone this place is a waste of time and definitely not worth paying rent here
Jul 11, 2017 · Holly JI love the covered area in the middle of the Park I love the shopping center but I wish there was more to do they used to have a swing set but not anymore or I wish they would get a pool for everyone to use and maybe use the covered area for parties
