Southland Mobile Home Park Introduce
Southland Mobile Home Park, situated at 5300 SE 1st Ct, Des Moines, IA 50315, USA, operates as a residential mobile home community. While it might appear under "RV Parks Near Me" in search results, its primary function is to provide long-term living solutions for individuals and families in manufactured homes, rather than accommodating transient recreational vehicles. This introduction aims to offer an objective overview of the park, drawing insights from the available address information and direct feedback provided by residents.
The environment within Southland Mobile Home Park presents a notable contrast in resident perceptions. One reviewer describes the park as "Quiet as hell," indicating a peaceful living environment, particularly in terms of noise levels. This suggests that the park's layout or community dynamics generally foster a tranquil atmosphere, which can be a significant positive for residents seeking serenity. Furthermore, the community is praised for its social environment, with residents being described as "very friendly and welcoming." This highlights a potentially strong sense of community and acceptance among residents. However, the exact visual and physical environment, such as the condition of common areas, landscaping, or the upkeep of individual lots, is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. As a mobile home park, it is expected to have individual manufactured homes on leased lots. Its location in Des Moines, IA, places it within an urban setting, providing residents with access to city amenities, services, and employment opportunities. While specific details about natural features or recreational spaces within the park are not available, the emphasis on quietness and friendliness paints a picture of a residential community that, for some, offers a desirable social and acoustic environment. Potential residents are encouraged to visit the park to personally assess the physical environment and confirm if it aligns with their expectations for a long-term residential community.
The services provided by Southland Mobile Home Park primarily revolve around the management and maintenance of the mobile home lots for its residents. However, the provided customer reviews indicate significant concerns regarding the professionalism and responsiveness of the management team. One review explicitly states "Very unprofessional from the manager harassing and disrespecting visitors up to cindy the manager in the office hanging up on people calling to submit a complaint." This points to serious issues with customer service and management conduct, which are crucial aspects of a residential community's services. The difficulty in escalating complaints, where a resident "asked to talk to the person above Cindy which i am told is Richard?" and is "waiting on a phone call cindy has my number," further emphasizes a perceived lack of accountability and accessible communication channels. While the park undoubtedly provides basic services like lot rental and utility hookups (water, sewer, electricity – though their reliability is not detailed), the quality of the management interaction seems to be a significant detractor for some. Efficient and respectful management is a fundamental service that contributes to resident satisfaction, and the feedback suggests this is an area where Southland Mobile Home Park faces challenges. For inquiries regarding available lots or services, the provided phone numbers are (515) 285-0672 and +1 515-285-0672. However, based on the reviews, prospective residents should be prepared for potential difficulties in communication or resolution of issues with the management team.
The features of Southland Mobile Home Park, based on the available feedback, highlight both positive and challenging aspects of living there. A key feature is the "Quiet as hell" atmosphere, which is a significant advantage for residents who prioritize a peaceful living environment. This suggests effective noise control or a generally respectful community. Another strong feature is the reported friendliness and welcoming nature of the residents, particularly their acceptance of individuals with a "convict" background, which implies an inclusive and non-judgmental community spirit, a rare and valued trait for many. However, the primary features that are problematic relate to the management. The "unprofessional" conduct of the manager and the alleged "harassing and disrespecting visitors" are significant negative features that directly impact the resident experience and the park's reputation. The difficulty in submitting complaints and the apparent lack of responsiveness from management also constitute negative features, indicating a potential absence of effective conflict resolution or oversight. The physical features of the park, such as the condition of the mobile homes, roads, or common areas, are not detailed in the provided reviews, preventing an objective assessment of those elements. While the park offers a place for mobile homes, the positive features primarily revolve around the resident community itself, while the negative features are strongly tied to the park's management and its interactions with residents and visitors.
When considering Southland Mobile Home Park, any "promotional information" would ideally highlight its quiet atmosphere and friendly community, as these are the positive aspects mentioned by residents. However, the strong negative feedback regarding management's professionalism and responsiveness would likely overshadow typical promotional efforts. There is no information provided about specific sales of mobile homes, rental units, or unique amenities. The park's primary offering is the provision of lots for manufactured homes for long-term residency. The phone numbers, (515) 285-0672 and +1 515-285-0672, serve as the contact points for inquiries about lot availability, rental agreements, and park rules. For potential residents, it is absolutely crucial to approach any decision with caution and thorough due diligence. This would include visiting the park in person to assess its physical condition, including the upkeep of common areas and individual lots. More importantly, prospective residents should attempt to speak with current residents to gather additional, unfiltered perspectives on daily life and management interactions. Given the specific complaints about management professionalism and responsiveness to complaints, individuals should be prepared to navigate these challenges. Any lease agreements or park rules should be reviewed meticulously. Southland Mobile Home Park, while offering a quiet and friendly social environment for some, appears to face significant management issues that prospective residents, especially those searching for "RV Parks Near Me" for a long-term home, must seriously consider before making a commitment.
