Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge Introduce
For those in Singapore seeking "RV Parks Near Me" with an interest in visiting the popular Pigeon Forge and Sevierville areas of Tennessee, USA, Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge, located at 1004 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862, presents a campground with a mix of appealing features and areas for potential improvement, based on recent customer reviews. You can contact them at (865) 429-5267 or +1 865-429-5267 for inquiries and reservations.
Several reviewers have noted that Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge appears to be an older and somewhat rundown campground, which aligns with the information available online. However, the staff are generally praised for their positive reception upon arrival, creating a welcoming initial impression. Despite the friendly staff, some aspects of the check-in process have been mentioned as potentially inconvenient. The standard check-in time is 2 PM, which some guests found late, especially when arriving earlier in the day. One reviewer who arrived at 10:05 AM, after being informed a week prior that an 11 AM early check-in might be possible, ultimately had to wait until the official time, even though the campground was reported to be "pretty empty." This guest also paid an extra $30 for an early check-in that was not significantly expedited, leading to a perception of excessive charges for the limited benefit.
Despite the check-in experience, the waterfront full hookup (FHU) sites, particularly site 419, received positive feedback. These sites are described as beautiful, located directly on the river, and offering ample space. The appeal of a large waterfront site with full hookups (water, sewer, and electricity) is a significant draw for many RV travelers seeking "RV Parks Near Me" with scenic views and essential utilities.
However, a recurring concern in the reviews pertains to the cleanliness and maintenance of the bathhouses. One reviewer cited the condition of the bathhouse doors, noting that several stalls on the left side did not shut properly. Additionally, a lack of toilet paper in one stall was an ongoing issue during their stay. This guest expressed a desire for more consistent efforts in maintaining cleanliness, emphasizing its importance for families considering a return visit. The condition of the bathhouses appears to be a significant factor detracting from the overall experience for some visitors.
On a more positive note, Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge also features a conference center, which hosted an event attended by one of the reviewers. The conference center was described as pleasant with plenty of parking available. However, suggestions were made for improvements to the parking area, such as repainting the lines on parking spaces and adding lighting for better visibility at night, especially as events can conclude late in the evening. Interestingly, this reviewer also mentioned receiving "excellent feedback" from some attendees who were staying at the campground, indicating that despite some concerns, other guests had positive experiences.
One reviewer mentioned securing their trip through a Black Friday deal, which influenced their level of dissatisfaction with the issues encountered, suggesting that the value proposition might be more acceptable at a discounted rate. Overall, the campground is acknowledged as a "safe place to stay," and the waterfront sites are particularly praised.
Based on these reviews, the key features and considerations for Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge for those seeking "RV Parks Near Me" include:
- Beautiful Waterfront RV Sites: Offering scenic views and a desirable location on the river.
- Full Hookups Available: Providing water, sewer, and electricity at select sites.
- Friendly Staff Upon Arrival: Creating a positive initial impression.
- Conference Center/Event Venue: Suitable for hosting events with ample parking.
- Spacious Sites: Some sites, like the waterfront ones, are noted for their large size.
However, potential drawbacks to consider include:
- Older and Potentially Rundown Condition: The campground is described as older, which may impact the overall aesthetic and functionality.
- Strict and Potentially Inflexible Check-In Policy: The 2 PM check-in time is considered late by some, and early check-in may incur an additional fee without guaranteed expediency.
- Issues with Bathhouse Maintenance and Cleanliness: Concerns have been raised about malfunctioning stall doors and the availability of supplies, suggesting inconsistent maintenance.
- Parking Lot Lighting: The parking area for the conference center is reported to be poorly lit at night.
Promotional information is not explicitly stated in the reviews. However, the presence of waterfront sites and a conference center can be seen as unique selling points. The potential for deals, such as the Black Friday offer mentioned, might also serve as a promotional aspect to look out for. The campground's location in the popular Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area, known for its attractions and natural beauty, is also an inherent draw for tourists seeking "RV Parks Near Me" in this region.
For individuals in Singapore planning a trip to Pigeon Forge/Sevierville and searching for "RV Parks Near Me," Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge offers a location with potentially scenic waterfront RV sites and the convenience of a conference center for events. However, it is important to be aware of the reported issues regarding the age and maintenance of the facilities, particularly the bathhouses, and the potentially rigid check-in process. Weighing the appeal of the waterfront location and the availability of full hookups against these potential drawbacks will be crucial in making an informed decision.
Prospective guests may want to inquire directly about the current condition of the facilities and any recent upgrades or maintenance efforts when making a reservation. Understanding the specific amenities offered at different site types and any applicable fees for early check-in or other services would also be beneficial.
In conclusion, Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge offers a mix of attractive features, such as its waterfront RV sites and conference facilities, along with areas where improvements may be needed, particularly regarding the maintenance and cleanliness of the bathhouses and the check-in process. For those seeking "RV Parks Near Me" in the Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area, it presents a viable option, especially for those prioritizing location and waterfront access, but potential guests should be aware of the reported conditions and plan accordingly.

Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge Reviews
This was our first time at this campground. After viewing photos online and reading reviews we did see that this was rundown and older. The staff are great when you arrive. However, I think 2PM is late for checkin and they are very stern on that. However we did call ahead as we arrived at 10:05. I had also called the week prior to see how early we could check in and was told 11 so we kept ourselves busy until 11.The campground was pretty empty so again, the delayed checkin AFTER I PAID AN EXTRA $30 to checkin early seems excessive. Upon arriving to our site ( water front FHU) we were pleased with site 419. It is beautiful on the river and we love a large site. The bathhouses are my biggest reason for the low stars. Both of the doors did not shut in the stalls on the left side and one was out of toilet paper the whole time. I didn’t feel like there was a constant effort to maintain cleanliness and that’s very important to families who consider their return. I did get this trip on a Black Friday deal which is why I am not as upset because I didn’t pay full price. All and all, it’s a safe place to stay and the waterfront sites are great.
Mar 23, 2025 · Lizzie PorterAttended an event at the Conference center last night. It was pleasant with plenty of parking. It would be nice if the lines on spaces were repainted and if there were some lights at night in the lot. The event was over at 10 pm and the lot was pitch black. Heard excellent feedback from some attendees who were staying at the campground.
Mar 02, 2025 · Amy BThe wife and I stayed here while I was traveling for work. Booked through a third party website and thought we had rented a “one bedroom house” instead the lady at the front desk waited until 15 minutes before our arrival to call and “make sure we knew what we reserved” I was then informed the one bedroom house we reserved was In fact a ONE ROOM shack with no bathroom inside but a shared bathhouse way down the way, I believe the lady referred to it as “glorified camping” Mattress was from the late 90’s and you felt every last spring in it. Floors were NASTY and the “shack” had spaces between boards where any outdoor critter could get in as well as the cold outside air. Lady at the front desk was nice. They have full time RV living here and none of them are friendly. Good location though. They should be more careful of how another company advertises what they are offering. Nice place but I believe there are FAR better in the area. Worst experience in an RV park I’ve ever had.
Mar 07, 2025 · Zach Phillips DollmontWe have stayed at this campground 3 years in a row for fall break. My kids absolutely love it. The bath houses are very nice. The pools are still warm enough to swim in for that time of year. They have a very nice jumping pillow and playground. It’s a great location, close to everything in pigeon forge but has a feel of being secluded at the same time!
Nov 08, 2024 · Vanessa MaySpent 5 nights during the first part of December. Great staging location for Gatlinburg, and a very nice place. Employees were very nice. Showers were very clean, and the hot water was perfect. While we didn't use the amenities, they looked very good. We plan on staying here again when we're in Pigeon Forge.
