Voyager RV Resort Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Tucson, Arizona area, Voyager RV Resort, located at 8701 S Kolb Rd, Tucson, AZ 85756, USA, is a large facility that appears to offer a wide range of amenities. However, based on recent online reviews, it is important to consider both the potential benefits and some reported drawbacks before making a decision.
One reviewer described Voyager as "a very large RV park, most of it is park models, and then there’s camping sections." This indicates that the resort caters to a diverse range of accommodation types, with a significant portion dedicated to park models, which are often more permanent or semi-permanent dwellings. The presence of camping sections suggests that the resort also accommodates traditional RVs for both short-term and potentially longer stays. The size of the park implies a substantial capacity and potentially a wide array of facilities and services.
The same reviewer noted that the resort is "not too busy" during their stay. However, they also expressed confusion regarding the site assignments, stating, "I’m not sure why they put all of us so close together. The sites are staggered and there’s four of us right next to each other when across the street it’s empty." This suggests a potential issue with site planning or allocation, where guests might feel unnecessarily crowded despite available space elsewhere in the park. This could impact the overall comfort and privacy of the RV sites.
Despite this concern about site density in certain areas, the reviewer acknowledged that "otherwise this is a very nice resort with a lot of amenities." This implies that Voyager RV Resort offers a range of facilities and services that are typically expected of a large resort, potentially including swimming pools, recreational areas, social activities, and more. The specific nature of these amenities is not detailed in this review, but the general statement suggests a well-equipped environment for guests.
However, another review raises significant concerns for RV travelers who have dogs. The reviewer strongly advises, "Don't move here if you have a dog." They claim that despite the resort purporting to be "dog friendly," their experience suggests otherwise. They recount an attempt to move in permanently with their dog and a request for a fenced-in area for their dog's safety and their ability to sit outside with him. Despite other sites having fenced areas, their request was declined after a 13-day wait for maintenance to assess the site. This experience led the reviewer to conclude that "Voyager is not 'dog friendly'" and to recommend other parks that allow dogs and fenced areas.
This negative experience regarding dog policies is a serious consideration for RV owners traveling with pets. The discrepancy between the claimed "dog friendly" status and the actual treatment of dog owners, as described in this review, could be a major deterrent for many potential guests. The perceived inconsistency in applying rules regarding fenced areas further exacerbates this concern.
In addition to the dog policy issues, the same reviewer also expressed dissatisfaction with the staff. They stated that "The staff takes forever to get back to you with questions and really have no idea what they are doing." This suggests potential inefficiencies or a lack of knowledge among the staff, which could lead to frustration for guests seeking assistance or information.
The reviewer also described the reception area as "Very unprofessional," noting that "No one smiles and are not customer service savvy at all." This paints a picture of a potentially unwelcoming or unhelpful front office environment, which can significantly impact a guest's first and last impressions of the resort.
Considering the platform category of "RV parks near me," Voyager RV Resort presents a complex picture. It is a large resort with a variety of accommodation options, including RV sites and park models, and it reportedly offers "a lot of amenities." However, potential guests, especially those with dogs, should be aware of the serious concerns raised regarding the park's dog policies and the alleged lack of dog-friendly practices. Additionally, the reported issues with staff responsiveness and professionalism in the reception area are factors that could affect the overall guest experience.
For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in Tucson, Arizona, Voyager RV Resort warrants further investigation, particularly if traveling with pets is a consideration. It would be prudent to seek clarification on their current pet policies, including any restrictions on dog breeds or sizes, and their stance on allowing fenced-in areas for pets at RV sites. Additionally, it may be helpful to read more recent reviews to ascertain if the concerns regarding staff professionalism have been addressed.

Apr 18, 2025 · Micki CollinsDon't move here if you have a dog. They claim to be "dog friendly" but they do everything they can to deter you from having a dog at the park. Tried to move in permanently with our dog and requested a fenced in area to keep our dog safe and so that we can sit outside with him. We requested a fenced in area - like several other sites have, and were declined. Apparently the rules only apply to some of their residents, but not all. It took the maintenance person 13 days to go look at the site to determine if we can have a fenced area for our dog and they declined us. Voyager is not "dog friendly" - go elsewhere - there are lots of parks that allow dogs and fenced in areas to keep your dog safe such as the one we presently live in. The staff takes forever to get back to you with questions and really have no idea what they are doing. Very unprofessional when you walk in to the reception area. No one smiles and are not customer service savvy at all.
Apr 04, 2025 · D RWe stayed here just 4 nights. We were in town for a funeral. The price was really high. But the service was really good. Thank you Voyager during our time of mourning.
Mar 31, 2025 · Rebecca WattsThis is a great age required rv and park model property. They have anything you can imagine. From wood shop, pickleball, cards and shows. Very upscale place.
Mar 03, 2025 · Kevin DoucetteWe used this campground for a week's stay while we explored the Tucson area.Pull-through FHU, 50/30/20, pedestal tall enough for watchdog to clear ground (barely), water. Faucet on water leaked a little. 3" threaded sewer. Gravel site with a very narrow concrete sidewalk. +0.5, -0.7. Able to level with just auto-level. Site is very long - much longer than coach and car, but very narrow. The only way two coaches can fit in adjacent sites is that the sites are set up opposite facing and because the sites are so long, the coaches end up at opposite ends and so are not side-to-side.Site had a cable tv hookup but we couldn't get any channels using it. With OTA, we received all three major networks, plus a bunch of the usual OTA channels.4 bars 5G V, 3 bars T, good AT&T data. The office had our packet ready when we arrrived, and we were escorted to the site. The campground is interesting in that it is in the center of a huge long-term 55+ park trailer / manufactured home / community. Our site had us facing a row of these long term park trailers.Roads were easily navigable with the coach. Definitely big rig friendly.Because this is a long-term residential community, they have a wealth of activities and amenities. They also have what appears to be a decent restaurant.Garbage and recycling roll-out bins picked up weeklyTwo laundry rooms. Main had 16 working washers, 16 out of order, 28 dryers $2.00 per load each. Machines used quarters - no change machine, and the office had none to buy. Or, you could install and use an app to pay. Other had 12 & 12 plus two large load machines.Easy on-off the highway.Tip:La Estrella bakery in Tucson is a little bit of a drive, but prices are very reasonable, and their bakery items are fresh and delicious.
