Waldo's Beach Campground Introduce
Waldo's Beach Campground, located at 6742 Waldos Beach Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306, USA, is a notable option for those searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in the North Carolina region. This campground offers a blend of practical amenities for RVers and some recreational features, making it suitable for both short stopovers and extended stays. You can reach them at (910) 818-2618 or +1 910-818-2618.
Waldo's Beach Campground is situated in Fayetteville, North Carolina, an area that offers a mix of urban convenience and natural appeal. The terrain around the campground is generally flat with a combination of sandy areas and some wooded spaces. While not a remote wilderness retreat, it provides a pleasant outdoor environment for RVers. The campground is described as being "just far enough out of town to be a fun getaway," suggesting a balance between accessibility and a sense of escape. It experiences typical North Carolina temperatures, ranging from around 30°F in winter to 90°F in summer. The presence of a "beach" in its name historically referred to a man-made swimming area, indicating the site once had aquatic recreational features, though the associated water park has been reported as closed permanently in recent years. This suggests the environment now focuses more on traditional RV camping and less on water-based entertainment at the park itself. Nevertheless, the setting aims to provide a relaxed atmosphere for residents and visitors.
Waldo's Beach Campground is well-equipped to serve RV enthusiasts, offering a range of essential services and features. The park provides full hookup sites, which include electricity (both 30-amp and 50-amp options are available), water, and sewer connections. This makes it convenient for RVs of all sizes, including "big rigs." Complimentary Wi-Fi is a key amenity, allowing guests to stay connected, whether for work or leisure. For added convenience, the campground offers escorted RV parking upon arrival, which can be particularly helpful for navigating larger vehicles. Clean restrooms with hot showers are provided, ensuring comfort for all guests, and a coin-operated laundromat is on-site for laundry needs. A previous highlight of the park was its water park, featuring picnic areas, a lazy river, water slides, and several pools. However, recent information indicates that the water park and fishing pier are now permanently closed, which is an important consideration for potential visitors expecting those specific recreational options. Despite the closure of the water park, the core RV services remain robust, catering to the needs of campers looking for reliable hookups and basic facilities. The park is also pet-friendly, accommodating furry companions, though leash policies and other restrictions may apply.
The community and lifestyle at Waldo's Beach Campground appear to be centered around a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere, largely influenced by the owner. One long-term resident noted their positive experience, stating, "We spent 14 weeks here the owner is a older gentleman very nice. when we first got there he bent over backwards to help with a spot which we really appreciated." This highlights a management style that values guest satisfaction and is willing to assist with specific needs. The park's pet-friendly policy contributes to a comfortable environment for those traveling with animals. However, some residents have raised concerns about the presence of "large scary dogs," specifically mentioning "Pit bulls living there full time," which can be a point of discomfort for others walking around the park. This suggests a need for clear pet policies and enforcement to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests. For those looking for a stopover, the campground offers a decent option, as mentioned by a transient visitor who found it "ok" for a stop on their way to the Outer Banks, appreciating its proximity to amenities like Walmart and grocery stores, and being about 30 minutes from downtown Fayetteville. This indicates its practical location for resupply and access to urban centers. The park seems to cater to a mix of short-term travelers and longer-term residents, fostering a diverse community of RVers.
Waldo's Beach Campground is open year-round, offering flexibility for various travel plans. They provide competitive weekly and monthly rates, making it an attractive option for extended stays, as lot rates typically include electricity. The contact phone numbers, (910) 818-2618 and +1 910-818-2618, are available for inquiries and reservations. The campground's strategic location in Fayetteville is a key selling point. It is conveniently situated near Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), which is a significant factor for military personnel and their families. Additionally, guests have easy access to a variety of local amenities, including shopping centers, restaurants, and grocery stores, enhancing the convenience of their stay. Golf courses are also nearby for enthusiasts. While the water park is permanently closed, the core offering as a full-service RV park remains. For those searching for "RV Parks Near Me" in the Fayetteville area, Waldo's Beach Campground presents a practical and accommodating choice, especially for longer durations. Prospective guests should consider the feedback regarding dog presence and, if concerned, inquire about specific pet policies or site locations upon booking. Overall, it stands as a viable option for RVers seeking a functional and accessible base in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Waldo's Beach Campground Reviews
Nice Park Except a few things ,We spent 14 weeks here the owner is a older gentleman very nice. when we first got there he bent over backwards to help with a spot which we really appreciated ,the park also features a water park which is closed but ....we weren't there for that anyway .My only real issue is the amount of Large Scary Dogs ,we counted no less then 4 Pit bulls living there full time, very scary when you are walking for exerciseother that we are thankful for the spot!
Jan 17, 2023 · David CrairIt was a stop through on our way to the Outer Banks, and we didn’t have sewer hook ups. It was ok. Close enough to a Walmart and grocery store and about 30 mins from downtown Fayetteville.
May 14, 2023 · AdventureAttorneyWe have been here since May. This place is very quiet and the owner is great. He was nice and he helped us when we needed a place to live. My husband and I are very pleased with this place. We highly recommend it.
Jan 09, 2024 · Erin DeVitoThe Park is mostly closed, only the pool side & slide are open while charging full price. & we got there late afternoon, a couple of hours b4 closing. Still got charged "Full price", really? The Bathrooms & deck area are in terrible shape, dirty & smells like mildew.Had fun, because we had friends & anyone can make the best of any situation, if you choose to, but I don't like to be taken advantage of... That's what Waldo's Beach Park did. False Advertising os robbery, illegal too, I'm sure! U know? Wanted a "Refund" after seeing there's no lake at all. The Attendants pretend not to understand english, 😥😔😭, Mercy! Can't reccomend... Everything needs a good cleaning & updating too. Half price, or 1/3 would bring me back. Not full price!
Sep 06, 2019 · D. A.The internet is horrible! Lake empty, which was not communicated up front, and the staff are not exactly friendly towards females. It’s a convenient area however the on site “beach” which contains a family area and pool plays music loudly so if you are a night shifter you may have issues sleeping. Sites are okay, nice clean showers, laundry is lacking as there are only two washers and two dryers. A big plus is this Campground is gated, they close the gates around ten and however goes out first opens the gate and leaves it that way.
