Whispering Pines Housing Community Introduce
For local users in the Midland, Michigan area searching for "RV parks near me" or considering a unique housing opportunity, Whispering Pines Housing Community, located at 227 W Olson Rd, Midland, MI 48640, USA, operates on a lease-to-own model for its homes. They can be contacted at (989) 832-0045 or +1 989-832-0045 for inquiries about this community.
Based on the available customer reviews, experiences at Whispering Pines Housing Community appear to be somewhat mixed, with positive feedback regarding the manager contrasted with concerns about community standards and certain policies. One reviewer shared a "very good experience with the manager of the park," describing her as "very nice and helpful" and appreciating her honesty from the outset. This positive interaction with the management suggests a potentially supportive administrative presence within the community.
This same reviewer also highlights a crucial aspect of Whispering Pines: it operates on a "lease to own" basis. They emphasize that this information is disclosed upon approval, meaning that residents are essentially on a path to ownership of their homes. Consequently, the responsibility for "repair and maintenance is your problem." This is a significant distinction from traditional rental mobile home parks where the park management typically handles many maintenance issues. The reviewer advises prospective residents to thoroughly research this ownership model before committing to a home in this community to avoid misunderstandings about maintenance responsibilities.
Acknowledging that "There are problems every where u go," the reviewer found Whispering Pines to be an "ok park" overall. However, they did observe "alot of messy yards," attributing this to the fact that residents own their trailers and thus have the autonomy to maintain their yards as they choose. This suggests a potential lack of consistent community-wide standards for property upkeep, which may impact the overall aesthetic of the park for some residents.
Another reviewer expresses a desire for a more consistently maintained community, stating, "It would be a nicer place if the manager and owner would clean up the trashy renters there are two units on Merritt that seriously needs cleaning. One is 177. That yards look so disgusting." This directly contradicts the previous reviewer's acceptance of messy yards as owner prerogative and indicates that the lack of enforcement of cleanliness standards is a concern for at least one resident. The specific mention of unsightly conditions at certain units suggests that the issue may be localized but significantly impacts the visual appeal of those areas.
This second reviewer also raises a concern regarding pet policies, stating, "Also if some one owns their home you can not charge a fee for animals especially if they are in door animal." This suggests a potential dispute or misunderstanding about pet fees within the community, particularly for homeowners with indoor pets. The legalities of pet fees in lease-to-own scenarios where residents are on the path to ownership can be complex and may vary depending on local regulations and the specifics of the lease agreement.
Finally, the second reviewer raises a serious safety concern regarding traffic within the community, addressing an individual on a "rocket bike": "if I see you spend through here again you will be asked to slow down there are way to many kids in here for you to be going that fast slow the hell down this place is a flipping joke." This impassioned statement indicates a perceived danger to children within the park due to speeding vehicles, suggesting a potential lack of enforcement of speed limits or awareness of pedestrian safety by some individuals. The reviewer's frustration ("this place is a flipping joke") underscores the severity of their concerns about safety and community standards.
Considering the platform category "RV parks near me," Whispering Pines Housing Community, with its lease-to-own model for mobile homes, does not appear to directly cater to the traditional RV park model of short-term or transient stays. The focus is on establishing long-term residency with the eventual goal of homeownership. Therefore, individuals specifically looking for temporary RV parking in the Midland area would likely need to seek out other facilities.
The environment of Whispering Pines Housing Community, based on the reviews, presents a mixed picture. While one reviewer found it to be an "ok park," the presence of "alot of messy yards" and specific units described as "trashy" and "disgusting" by another suggests a lack of consistent aesthetic standards throughout the community. The potential presence of speeding vehicles also detracts from a peaceful and safe environment, particularly for families with children.
Information about services and features at Whispering Pines is limited in these reviews. The lease-to-own model implies that residents are responsible for the maintenance of their individual homes. The mention of a manager suggests on-site administration, but details about community-wide services such as landscaping, waste management, communal areas, or recreational facilities are not provided. The pet policy seems to be a point of contention, and safety appears to be a concern for some residents due to speeding within the park.
No promotional information is mentioned in the provided reviews. There are no indications of special offers or incentives for those considering the lease-to-own option at Whispering Pines Housing Community.
In conclusion, Whispering Pines Housing Community in Midland, Michigan, offers a unique lease-to-own opportunity for mobile homes, which comes with the responsibility of individual home maintenance. While some residents have had positive interactions with the park manager, there are notable concerns regarding inconsistent community upkeep, potential issues with pet policies, and safety due to speeding vehicles within the park. For local users searching for "RV parks near me," Whispering Pines is unlikely to be a suitable option. Those considering the lease-to-own model for long-term residency should weigh the potential benefits of ownership against the reported issues with community standards and safety, and conduct thorough due diligence, including a visit to the park, before making a decision.

Whispering Pines Housing Community Reviews
I had a very good experience with the manager of the park, she was very nice and helpful, she was very honest with me from get go. Also I don't know if people understand this park is a lease to own, you know this as soon as you get approved, so the repair and maintenance is your problem. So people should really do there research before taking a home in this community. There are problems every where u go. But this seemed like an ok park. Yes alot of messy yards, but they own the trailer and if they want a messy yard I guess that is there choice.

Dec 11, 2023 · Tina PhovemireAfter 4.5 years, I have finally escaped!! There is no management here. When there was, no maintenance was done. These trailers are in deplorable condition and most should be hauled out as electrical is way out of code. But they are still selling them off and charging the highest lot rent in Midland County AND you can't even drink the water here!!! 😲 BUYER BEWARE & GO ELSEWHERE!!!
May 25, 2023 · Anita MapesVery trashy and the trailer we were in had holes in the floors due to the sub floors were rotted black mold in the ceiling and only half of the trailer had power.. needs to be condemned
May 12, 2024 · Lyle gibsonLiving in the trailer park now for 2 years take someone forever to come fix what needs to be fixed in your trailer. I've called the office to let them know that my roof was leaking and my ceiling in my kitchen was falling in this is still going on, have not had anyone come look at my trailer. This trailer park doesn't care about what the trailers look like they don't take the time to fix what needs to be fixed when it needs to be fixed. I do not recommend anyone to live in any of these trailers..
