Area Three Campground Introduce
For local residents of Nebraska and travelers passing through the region, particularly via Interstate 80, Area Three Campground, located in Raymond, NE 68428, USA, presents a compelling option within the "camping near me" category. Based on feedback from actual campers, this campground offers a quieter and less crowded alternative to some of the more popular camping destinations in the area, making it ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat or a convenient overnight stop.
The environment of Area Three Campground appears to be characterized by its relative seclusion. One reviewer specifically noted that it is "out of the way, not in the busy part of lake," suggesting that it might be situated away from the main recreational hubs, offering a more tranquil setting. This could mean that the campground is surrounded by more natural and less developed landscapes, potentially providing a greater sense of privacy and a closer connection to nature. The mention of a lake implies that the campground is likely located near a body of water, which could offer opportunities for scenic views and possibly water-related activities, although the specifics of lake access and activities are not detailed in the provided reviews.
In terms of services and features, the information gleaned from the reviews provides some insights. One camper traveling through on a holiday weekend mentioned that while other nearby campgrounds like Middle Creek and South Shore were full, Area Three had "lots of sites unclaimed" and "lots of room." This suggests that Area Three might be a larger campground or one that is less known or less heavily utilized, potentially making it a reliable option even during peak seasons when other locations are at capacity. This availability can be a significant advantage for travelers without reservations or locals seeking a last-minute camping spot.
The same reviewer also provided some details about the cost, mentioning a "$12 for the non-res vehicle plus $15 to camp." This pricing information is valuable for local users and travelers alike, offering a clear indication of the fees involved for an overnight stay for a vehicle without a prior reservation. The fact that this camper found it perfect for their overnight travel needs highlights its suitability for short stays and those passing through the area. The quiet nature of the campground was also emphasized, with the reviewer stating, "I'll remember this quiet campground for my next road trip from Denver to Wisconsin." This strong endorsement of its peacefulness suggests that Area Three Campground prioritizes a calm and relaxing atmosphere for its visitors.
Another reviewer simply stated, "This place is awesome. Out of the way, not in the busy part of lake. A really good place kick back and relax." This further reinforces the idea that Area Three Campground offers a secluded and tranquil environment, ideal for unwinding and enjoying a break from more crowded areas. The phrase "kick back and relax" encapsulates the overall vibe and the primary draw of this location.
While specific amenities such as restroom facilities, showers, picnic tables, fire rings, or RV hookups are not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, the fact that it is referred to as a campground implies that basic camping infrastructure is likely in place. Campgrounds typically provide designated campsites and some level of facilities to support overnight stays. However, the emphasis on it being a good option for an overnight stop and its quiet nature might suggest that it offers more basic amenities compared to more developed recreational campgrounds. Potential visitors should be prepared for a range of possibilities regarding the level of facilities available.
Promotional information is not directly included in the provided reviews. However, the implicit promotion is the campground's availability when others are full, its quiet and relaxing atmosphere, and its reasonable pricing ($12 vehicle fee + $15 camping fee for non-reservations, as mentioned by one reviewer). For local users who might find popular campgrounds overcrowded, Area Three offers a viable alternative with the promise of a more peaceful experience. For travelers on I-80, its accessibility and quiet environment make it a memorable option for overnight stays.
The location in Raymond, Nebraska, while not directly described in terms of its natural beauty, suggests a setting within the Nebraskan landscape. Depending on its proximity to the mentioned lake, the environment could include shoreline areas, surrounding vegetation, and local wildlife. The "out of the way" description implies it might be a bit removed from major tourist attractions, further contributing to its quiet and less busy atmosphere.
In conclusion, Area Three Campground near Raymond, NE, offers a valuable option for those seeking a quieter and less crowded camping experience, especially when other campgrounds in the area are full. Its location, potentially away from the busier parts of a lake, contributes to a relaxing environment that has been positively reviewed by campers. The pricing information provided by one reviewer offers a tangible detail for prospective visitors. While specific amenities are not detailed, the positive feedback regarding its peacefulness and availability makes Area Three Campground a noteworthy consideration for local users and travelers looking for "camping near me" in the Raymond, Nebraska, region.

Area Three Campground Reviews
Camped here Sat July 2nd of the holiday weekend, on my way through the area (via I-80). I had no reservation but there were lots of sites unclaimed, and lots of room. The trailer lots at Middle Creek were all full of holiday-makers, no room. The South Shore campground was also full. Area Three was perfect for my overnight travel needs. $12 for the non-res vehicle plus $15 to camp. I'll remember this quiet campground for my next road trip from Denver to Wisconsin.
