Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp Introduce
When planning an outing for a large group and searching for suitable "camping near me" options, Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp, located on Camp Aerie Rd in Kamas, UT 84036, USA, presents a compelling choice. Based on customer reviews, this campground is particularly well-suited for accommodating sizable groups, as one reviewer noted their successful use of multiple lower campsites (1, 2, 3, and 12) and the lower pavilion for a group of 40 people. The layout allows for privacy even when other groups are present at higher sites. For local users seeking "camping near me" that can comfortably host large gatherings like family reunions, ward campouts, or group retreats, Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp appears to be a strong contender.
The environment at Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp seems geared towards group activities and convenience. While one reviewer mentioned that there "wasn’t much tree shade," indicating that campers should come prepared for sun exposure, the overall layout and facilities cater to collective needs. The presence of a "large field for parking" upon arrival simplifies logistics for groups with multiple vehicles. The lower pavilion serves as a central hub, offering a "large storage room with several shelves" for organized food storage, including space for personal coolers and crockpots. The availability of "2 fridge/freezer combos and one large deep freezer" is a significant advantage for keeping food fresh for larger numbers of people. While the natural shade might be limited in some areas, the functional aspects of the environment are clearly designed to support group camping.
Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp offers a range of services that enhance the group camping experience. Notably, the lower pavilion provides "running water, flush toilets, bathroom sinks and showers," which are significant conveniences compared to more primitive camping options. The provision of essential supplies like "Toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap" adds to the ease of the stay. Campers also benefit from the availability of "quite a bit of large firewood," although bringing kindling is recommended. The presence of a "friendly and willing" camp host who can answer questions further contributes to a positive experience. For recreational activities, "Horseshoes are provided at both horseshoe pits in buckets," although guests need to bring their own archery and volleyball supplies, as a volleyball net and ball were reportedly not found. The pavilion area also has "several outlets," providing power for charging devices or running small appliances, although it's noted that there are no outlets at the bathroom sink area. A key service-related point to be aware of is the absence of a "kitchen sink," requiring dishwashing to be done at water spigots/hoses at the pavilion or campsites.
The features of Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp are particularly geared towards accommodating and entertaining large groups. The "Great campsite pads for large groups or ward campout" indicate that the camping areas are spacious enough for multiple tents or group setups. The inclusion of "Flushing toilets, multiple sinks for toiletry purposes, even showers, and a couple pavilions" significantly enhances comfort and convenience for larger numbers of people. The "Access to a couple of fridges" in the lower pavilion is a standout feature for food storage. The "large storage room with several shelves" in the pavilion also contributes to organized group living. For recreational activities, the provided horseshoe pits and the large playing field offer opportunities for group fun. While the lack of tree shade in some areas might be a drawback for some, the open space could be advantageous for group games and activities. The fire pits with covers that "can be used for cooking" offer a rustic cooking option, although campers need to bring their own cooking equipment as there are "no stoves, ovens or BBQs." The steepness of the road and its limited accommodation for larger trailers when traffic is present is another feature to consider for those with larger vehicles.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp based on the provided reviews. When considering "camping near me" for a large group, it is always advisable to inquire about group rates, discounts for extended stays, or any special offers that might be available, especially when booking multiple campsites or utilizing the pavilion facilities. Contacting the camp management directly through any available channels would be the best way to obtain information on pricing and any potential promotions tailored for group bookings.

Aspen Meadows Recreation Camp Reviews
Nice camping area for large groups. We used the bottom camp sites 1, 2, 3 and 12 and lower pavilion as a group of 40. There was another group up at a higher site, but we still had plenty of privacy. The lower pavilion had a large storage room with several shelves to store your own food, coolers, crockpots, etc. There are also 2 fridge/freezer combos and one large deep freezer. There is running water, flush toilets, bathroom sinks and showers, but be aware there is NO kitchen sink, so you either can do dishes at the water spigot/hose at the pavilion or camp site areas.Toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap are all provided. There is also quite a bit of large firewood. I suggest you bring your own dish soap, sponge, kindling, pots and pans, serving utensils and plates/bowls, shampoo/conditioner, bath towels etc. The fire pits have covers that can be used for cooking, but there are no stoves, ovens or BBQs.Horseshoes are provided at both horseshoe pits in buckets. Bring your own archery supplies and volleyball supplies. There supposedly should have been a volleyball net and ball, but we couldn’t find them.Pavilion area has several outlets, but there are no outlets at the bathroom sink area.Camp host is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. There is a large field for parking in when you first pull in to camp.
Jul 08, 2024 · Caroline LatimerGreat campsite pads for large groups or ward campout. Flushing toilets, multiple sinks for toiletry purposes, even showers, and a couple pavilions. Access to a couple of fridges. NO MOSQUITOS (at least in the upper campsites) Couldn’t give 5 stars because there wasn’t much tree shade. The road is steep and can only accommodate a small trailer as long as traffic isn’t coming your way.
Jul 16, 2024 · Jason FaullBeautiful surroundings. Very steep climbs everywhere and little shade. The bathrooms and showers worked well and had hot water. Besides hiking there isn't much else to do but relax, try and find some shade, and enjoy the nature.
Jul 15, 2023 · Amber RobertsDrove up there today. It was closed. Dont bother you will end up driving up the winding cliff dirt road. Definitely not for trailers. We scouted the place and it was good we did not tow our 34ft trailer the road is NOT for it.
