Barton Flats Campground Reviews
Nice campground that has access to some of the best hiking around the area and it's at 6,500' MSL so there are chances during the summer that it is tolerable during the day. There is nice dirt road type hike to a lake that is stocked. I was there on a weekend and the the other campers (mainly families and tents) respected the noise hours and the restrooms and showers were clean. Great, friendly hosts who who also sell wood. Convenience store 15 minutes away and places to find a new tent 30 minutes (without traffic). Near a road so expect road noise especially during the day.
Jun 13, 2024 · Tracy TStayed five nights in site 14. Camp is very clean thanks to the host’s. Bob also gave me great tips on fishing Jenks Lake as well as delivering fire wood every night. Santa Ana river trail is close by and an easy hike with some beautiful vistas. Verizon reception was excellent. Closest store is about 8 miles west on 38 has typical inventory for a country store. Ice ain’t cheap 12.99 for a 20 pound bag but you need it so you pay for it. All in all it’s a great campground
Aug 17, 2024 · Martin HulseMy husband and I have been coming to barton flats for 6 years now. This year we decided to take my siblings so we reserved 3 sites and we're excited to show them the campground we've raved about. Upon arrival we were setting up. The female host came up to us to introduce herself. I let her know we were going to be over 2 vehicles the second night but that we would pay for them. She said it would be ok.The male host came a bit later he was in a bit of a mood and I guess we were his punching bag. He said our music was loud. I asked him if he could hear it from where we were standing he said no. Then I asked him what waste problem. I didn't understand since we really didn't have it loud and we weren't being disruptive. He started charging for all vehicles and I questioned him if this was new. He said he had been herd for years and was standard policy. My husband and I were shocked because he was new and no he hadn't been here for years, and no we've never been charged and never been treated ot talked to in this tone. He questioned the amount of people we had. I told him we wre still expecting my sisters family tomorrow morning we were way below the allowed and if he needed to count everyone he could we dont have anything or anyone to hide. We paid him and he went away. The restrooms were clogged and unattended to which was weird because one of the things we loved about this site was how clean and upkept the restrooms and showers were in previous years. Let's just say. We might have to look for a new campground to go to next year. I do not recommend. So sad 😞Maybe my messasge wasn't clear. He charged me for every vehicle. But I guess you will come up for an excuse for that too. Like I said, I've come for a few years and was never treated in this manor.

Sep 01, 2024 · Esteban HernandezThis place is awesome.. Accept for last summer. When I was camping here. There was a lady that was working there with her boyfriend yelling at people. For parking their car wrong way when the squirrels. We're breaking into our food and eating everything. Getting up into the engine compartments of my vehicle Multiple times. So I had it turned around with the hood opened so that I could make sure they weren't in there, Eating my Electrical wires in my car. And she told me I had to turn it around Very rudley. And then I realized why there was so many of them in that area. She was literally feeding them off of the Gulf cart. They were following her around and she would throw handfuls of food to them. And she's yelling at me about doing something wrong.Doesn't she know that you're not supposed to feed the animals in the forest? HAHA !!! .HELLOOther than that. This place is awesome. Hot showers, very clean. And the rangers are very nice. The lady that was part of the cleaning crew is not a ranger just f. Y I. But she likes to try and act like one.
