Boardman Group Camp Introduce
For local residents in the Granite Falls, Washington area seeking an ideal "camping near me" location for group outings, Boardman Group Camp, situated along the Mountain Loop Hwy, Granite Falls, WA 98252, USA, offers a promising option. Designed specifically to accommodate groups, this riverside campground provides a well-maintained and clean environment for a memorable camping experience. While primarily geared towards tent camping, it can also accommodate smaller campers and RVs, albeit without hookups. The reviews from previous visitors highlight its attractive features and some important considerations for groups planning a stay.
The environment of Boardman Group Camp is a significant draw, with its location "on the side of the river" and offering "river access." This riverside setting provides a beautiful natural backdrop for group activities and relaxation. Campers can likely enjoy the sights and sounds of the flowing water, and the river access opens up opportunities for various water-related activities such as dipping, swimming, or fishing, as mentioned by one reviewer who found the river "beautiful and lovely" for these purposes. The natural beauty of the area along the Mountain Loop Highway is well-known, suggesting that Boardman Group Camp is nestled within a scenic and potentially forested environment, enhancing the overall appeal for local nature enthusiasts.
In terms of services and features, Boardman Group Camp offers several amenities designed to enhance the group camping experience. The presence of "fire pits" and "tables" at the campsites provides essential infrastructure for cooking, gathering, and enjoying meals together outdoors. The availability of "nice tent pads" is particularly beneficial for tent campers, offering a more comfortable and potentially drier surface for setting up tents. One reviewer specifically noted that the "tent pads are well maintained and comfortable," indicating a thoughtful approach to camper comfort.
The campground also provides a "clean primitive restroom," which, while basic, is a necessary amenity for any camping area. The positive mention of its cleanliness suggests that the facilities are well-maintained, contributing to a more pleasant stay for groups. However, it is crucial to note that there is "only 1 pit toilet," as highlighted by one reviewer. Groups planning to camp at Boardman Group Camp should be aware of this limited restroom facility and plan accordingly, especially if their group is large. This is a key piece of information for local users to consider when deciding if this campground meets their group's needs.
While primarily designed for tent camping, Boardman Group Camp can also "accommodate small campers and RVs," although it is explicitly stated that there are "no hook ups." This means that any RVs or campers utilizing the site will need to be self-contained in terms of power, water, and waste disposal. Local users with smaller recreational vehicles who are comfortable with dry camping may find this campground suitable for their group, offering the benefit of a shared camping experience in a scenic location.
A potential limitation for larger groups is the availability of a dedicated "gathering place." One reviewer wished "there was a better gathering place for a large group," suggesting that while the individual campsites are adequate, there might not be a central common area specifically designed for large group activities or gatherings beyond the individual site spaces. Local organizers planning group events or activities that require a large communal space should take this into consideration. However, the reviewer still concluded that it is a "wonderful campground nonetheless," indicating that this limitation does not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.
The campground is described as having "4 tent pads and one or two extra small sites for more tents." This information is valuable for local groups planning their site arrangements. The presence of designated tent pads can help in organizing the camping area and ensuring that tents are set up in appropriate locations. The additional smaller sites offer some flexibility for accommodating extra tents if needed. Understanding the layout and capacity of the campground is essential for local users to determine if it can comfortably host their group size.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the positive feedback regarding the cleanliness, maintenance, and the beautiful riverside location serves as an implicit endorsement for Boardman Group Camp. For local users searching for a well-regarded group camping option near Granite Falls, the positive experiences shared by others can be a significant factor in their decision-making process. The specific focus on group camping also positions Boardman Group Camp as a potentially unique offering within the "camping near me" category for those planning outings with family, friends, or other organizations.
To obtain more detailed information about the capacity of the group camp, specific regulations or guidelines for group use, and any potential fees or reservation procedures, local users are encouraged to contact Boardman Group Camp directly at (541) 338-7869 or +1 541-338-7869. Speaking with the campground management will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information for planning a successful group camping trip. It would also be beneficial to inquire about any specific recommendations for group gatherings or activities within the campground.
In conclusion, Boardman Group Camp offers a well-maintained and clean riverside camping experience specifically designed for groups in the Granite Falls, WA area. With amenities like tent pads, fire pits, and a clean primitive restroom, it provides the essentials for a comfortable group outing. While it accommodates small campers and RVs without hookups, its primary focus is on tent camping. Local users should be mindful of the single pit toilet and the potential lack of a large dedicated gathering space for very large groups. However, the beautiful location and the positive experiences of past visitors make Boardman Group Camp a strong contender for local groups seeking a memorable "camping near me" adventure in a scenic setting.

Boardman Group Camp Reviews
Had a blast here. Well maintained and clean. Can accommodate small campers and RVs. No hook ups. Fire pits, tables, and nice tent pads. River access. Clean primitive restroom.
Jul 10, 2024 · Curt AspelA group camp on the side of the river. There are 4 tent pads and one or two extra small sites for more tents. The tent pads are well maintained and comfortable. There is only 1 pit toilet, so if you’re planning for a crowd make note! The river is beautiful and lovely for a dip, swim or for fishing! Wish there was a better gathering place for a large group, but a wonderful campground nonetheless.
Aug 01, 2022 · Sarah ClarkForest Service reservation campground which when first built in the 60s was much larger & of course free back then. Over the years the river has eaten away at most of the campground but there are like 4 or 5Good grass shady sites. Along it is a huge river bar. Fishing & deep water swimming if its really hot outside otherwise the water is a tad cold. Much colder in may & june than late July or August. The is one primitive outhouse but its built of cement. The riverbar streches forever it seems & you may find day timers or campers on it but they shouldnt be on your beach. Surrounded by mountains its beautiful. Bisit forest service to enquire renting for group camping or really even a normal family would love it & the rate is reasonable. I dont knkw what it is now but when i was there before it was like $175 others are less
Sep 08, 2022 · Christoffer EricksonPretty little place. 3 stars because it's a narrow strip of land right next to the road. I didn't see any kind of river beach, just a steep drop into the river, not so sure I'd bring younger kids here. Maybe it's better in the summer and the river runs low
May 02, 2021 · CmbonsaiI had a really great time I went there with my best friend and her dog we went swimming in the river and did a little fishing I will definitely be going back
