Bogart County Park

Bogart County Park, Cherry Valley, CA 92223, USA

4.0
My 1st time going there. I loved it. Huge shade trees with lots of grass. A playground for kids . The only problem i "heard" that the restrooms were gross. However I didn't use them so I'm not sure. Very beautiful weather on Easter 2025 perfect!. I wasnt aware it was even there. Im not sure if you can camp over night there as well. But worth looking into. There are bbq areas as well. But I believe you now have to reserve them. - S S (Sheri)

Bogart County Park Introduce

Looking for a local outdoor escape under the category "Camping Near Me"? Let us introduce you to Bogart County Park, situated in Cherry Valley, California, at Bogart County Park, Cherry Valley, CA 92223, USA. This park offers a range of features that make it a potentially attractive option for day use and camping, though it's important to note some considerations based on recent visitor feedback.

Bogart County Park appears to be a well-maintained area characterized by its natural beauty and family-friendly amenities. One first-time visitor expressed their enjoyment of the park, highlighting the presence of "huge shade trees with lots of grass," which suggests a comfortable and visually appealing environment. The abundance of shade is particularly valuable in the Southern California climate, offering a cool respite during warmer days. The presence of a playground also makes it a desirable destination for families with children.

Day-Use Amenities: Playground and BBQ Areas

For those looking for a local spot for a day out, Bogart County Park offers a playground for children, providing a space for fun and active play. Additionally, the park is equipped with BBQ areas, making it an ideal location for picnics and outdoor cooking. However, it's important to note that, according to a recent visitor, these BBQ areas may now require reservations. If you are planning to use these facilities, it would be prudent to contact the park in advance to inquire about the reservation process.

Camping Considerations: Tent and Smaller RVs Preferred

While the first review was unsure about overnight camping, another visitor who booked online provided valuable insights into the park's suitability for RVs. It appears that Bogart County Park may not be ideally suited for larger recreational vehicles, specifically mentioning that it is "not really a park for Class A's or 5th wheels," especially those longer than 30 feet. The reviewer noted that their 41-foot RV was accommodated on a sloped site, and that most sites in the park are sloped to varying degrees, with limited short flat spots. This suggests that while smaller RVs, pop-ups, and truck campers may find suitable spots, larger rigs could face challenges with leveling and site length.

Lack of Hookups: Important for RV Campers

A crucial piece of information for RV campers is that Bogart County Park offers "no hookups at all." This means there are no connections for water, electricity, or sewer at the campsites. While this was acceptable for the reviewer who mentioned it, it is a critical factor for those who rely on these amenities for their RV camping experience. Tent campers, of course, would not typically require these hookups.

Potential Restroom Conditions

One potential drawback mentioned in a review, although not personally verified by the reviewer, was that the restrooms were "gross." While this is second-hand information, it is worth noting for those who prioritize clean restroom facilities. As the reviewer did not use them, the current condition remains uncertain. It might be advisable to inquire about the restroom maintenance and cleanliness if this is a significant concern for your visit.

Enjoyable Weather and Discovering a Local Gem

The first-time visitor also commented on the "very beautiful weather" experienced during Easter 2025, highlighting the pleasant climate in the area during certain times of the year. They also mentioned being unaware of the park's existence previously, suggesting that Bogart County Park might be a hidden gem for some local residents. This underscores the value of exploring local options when searching for "Camping Near Me" as you might discover delightful spots you weren't previously aware of.

Noise Levels During Quiet Hours

A significant concern raised by one reviewer was the lack of adherence to quiet hours. They noted that "very few people respected quiet hours," advising that those who prefer an early bedtime should expect noise levels to remain higher until around 11 PM or midnight. This is an important consideration for campers who value a peaceful night's sleep.

Suitability for Different Camping Styles

Based on the available feedback, Bogart County Park appears to be best suited for tent camping and smaller recreational vehicles. The shade trees and grassy areas mentioned in the first review would create a comfortable environment for tent campers. Campers with pop-ups and truck campers are also likely to find suitable sites. However, those with larger Class A RVs or fifth-wheel trailers longer than 30 feet may encounter difficulties due to sloped and short sites. It is essential to be prepared for dry camping as no hookups are available.

Promotional Information and How to Connect

The provided information does not include any specific promotional offers for Bogart County Park. To inquire about camping availability, fees, reservations (especially for BBQ areas), restroom conditions, and any regulations regarding quiet hours or RV sizes, it is recommended to contact the park directly. You can reach Bogart County Park by phone at (951) 845-3818 or mobile phone at +1 951-845-3818.

In conclusion, Bogart County Park offers a potentially lovely local option for day use, with its shade trees, playground, and BBQ areas. For camping, it is more geared towards tent campers and those with smaller RVs who are comfortable with dry camping. Be aware of the potential for sloped sites and the reported issues with noise during quiet hours.
