The address, 72 Turkey Ridge Trail, suggests a location within the park's trail system, potentially offering access to hiking or scenic views. However, the provided review does not focus on the natural environment of the campground itself but rather on the overall maintenance of the park's facilities. While the inherent beauty of Bennett Spring State Park might be a draw for those searching "camping near me," the review suggests that the upkeep of the developed areas, including campgrounds, might be a concern to consider.
Services and Amenities: Concerns Regarding Cleanliness
The single review available raises significant concerns about the cleanliness of the facilities at Bennett Spring State Park, which would include Campground #5. The reviewer states, "Bathrooms are moldy and mildewed so what's the purpose in having them if no one wants to use them." This indicates a potential lack of adequate maintenance of essential campground services like restrooms. The reviewer also mentions that the park is "being renovated," which might explain some current conditions, but they express disappointment with the current state despite this. While the review doesn't detail other potential services like water hookups, electrical hookups, or dump stations at Campground #5, the strong negative feedback regarding the cleanliness of the bathrooms is a critical point for anyone searching "camping near me" who values basic hygiene and well-maintained facilities.
Features: Potentially Affected by Renovation and Maintenance Issues
The review does not describe specific features of Campground #5, such as the size or layout of campsites, the presence of fire rings or picnic tables, or proximity to specific park attractions. Instead, it focuses on the general state of the park's upkeep. The mention of renovation suggests that there might be improvements planned or underway that could eventually enhance the features of the campgrounds. However, based on the current review, the primary feature highlighted is the apparent lack of cleanliness in the shared facilities, which could detract from the overall camping experience. For those using "camping near me" to find campgrounds with well-maintained features, the feedback on Bennett Spring State Park's bathrooms is a significant factor to consider.

The reviewer's statement about campsites potentially turning into "homeless camps" if payment is possible further contributes to a negative portrayal of the current situation. For local users searching "camping near me," this review serves as a cautionary note rather than an advertisement. Campground #5 Bennett Spring State Park Reviews
I'm not sure exactly what's going on at this state park. I realize it's being renovated but it seems like it's been left to the campers. The state receives a lot of tax dollars not to mention what they make off campers and they can't do no better (even with volunteers) than what they do to keep the state parks clean. Bathrooms are moldy and mildewed so what's the purpose in having them if no one wants to use them. I can see the campsites turning into homeless camps as long as the homeless can pay. Our tax dollars are paying for WHAT?
