Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me," the Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park, located in Chewelah, Washington, presents a camping option with the unique feature of being associated with a golf and country club. Situated in Chewelah, WA 99109, USA, this RV park offers potential access to golfing amenities alongside RV camping facilities. However, it's essential to consider the mixed reviews regarding noise, cleanliness, and maintenance when evaluating this location for your camping needs.
Environment and Location: Chewelah is a town in Stevens County, Washington, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. The RV park's association with a golf and country club suggests a potentially spacious and green environment. One positive review mentions deer roaming the property, indicating the presence of wildlife and a somewhat natural setting. However, another review describes the area as "dusty" and notes "road noise if a loud vehicle went by," suggesting that while it may have natural elements, it might not be entirely secluded from some level of disturbance.
Services and Features (Based on Reviews): The customer reviews provide contrasting information regarding the services and features of the Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park:
- RV Sites: One positive review mentions "drive thru spots" that are "wide enough to accommodate our RV with slides on both sides," indicating that the park can accommodate larger RVs with slide-outs, which is a significant convenience for RV travelers.
- Bathroom and Shower Facilities: Reviews offer conflicting accounts of the cleanliness of these facilities. One reviewer described the "bathrooms and shower stalls" as "gross and in need of a deep clean," while another stated that the "shower, bathroom and laundry facilities were very clean" and that the shower/bathroom had a locking door, suggesting a sense of security. This discrepancy indicates potential inconsistencies in maintenance or differing standards of cleanliness among reviewers or over time.
- Laundry Facilities: The mention of "laundry facilities" in one of the positive reviews suggests this amenity is available for campers, which can be particularly useful for longer stays.
- Picnic Table: One negative review noted that the "picnic table at our site was in disrepair and badly needed to be scraped and painted," indicating that the condition of individual site amenities may vary and some may be poorly maintained.
- Pet Friendly: The positive reviewer mentioned, "We have dogs and they are good with having them on a leash," confirming that the park is pet-friendly, which is a significant draw for travelers with pets. Specific pet policies (e.g., breed restrictions, leash rules, waste disposal) are not detailed.
- Potential Golf Course Access: Given the name of the RV park, it is highly likely that campers have the option to access the amenities of the Chewelah Golf and Country Club, such as the golf course, clubhouse, or dining facilities, possibly for an additional fee. However, this is not explicitly confirmed in the provided reviews.
- Staff: One review noted that "most if the staff are friendly," which is a positive aspect of customer service. However, the same review mentioned that the "camp host was surly," indicating a potential inconsistency in staff demeanor.
- Quiet and Peaceful (Potentially Seasonal): One reviewer who stayed when there weren't many other people present described the park as "quiet and peaceful," attributing the low occupancy to cold weather. This suggests that the noise levels might vary depending on the number of campers and the time of year.
Environment and Potential Drawbacks: While the association with a golf course might suggest a well-maintained and pleasant environment, one review raises concerns about cleanliness and general upkeep. The mention of "garbage and trash around the perimeter" is a significant negative aspect that potential visitors should be aware of. The "dusty" conditions could also be a concern depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
Promotional Information and Considerations for Local Users: For local users searching for "camping near me," the Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park offers a unique combination of RV camping and potential access to golf course amenities. Here are some points to consider when evaluating this option:
- Potential for Golfing: If you are a golf enthusiast, the proximity and potential access to the Chewelah Golf and Country Club's golf course could be a significant advantage. Inquire directly about any special rates or access privileges for RV park guests.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: For RVers traveling with pets, the park's pet-friendly stance is a positive feature. However, it's essential to understand and adhere to any specific rules regarding leashes and pet waste.
- Accommodation for Larger RVs: The availability of wide, drive-thru spots that can accommodate RVs with slides on both sides makes this park suitable for larger recreational vehicles.
- Laundry Facilities: The presence of laundry facilities can be convenient for longer stays, allowing travelers to take care of their laundry needs on-site.
However, it is crucial to carefully consider the potential drawbacks highlighted in the reviews:
- Noise Levels: The "very noisy" comment in one review suggests that the park may not always be peaceful. This could be due to proximity to roads, activities within the park, or the number of other campers.
- Cleanliness Concerns: The conflicting reports on the cleanliness of bathrooms and showers are a significant point of concern. It would be wise to inquire about the park's cleaning schedule and standards.
- Maintenance Issues: The mention of a dilapidated picnic table indicates potential neglect in maintaining individual campsite amenities. The presence of "garbage and trash around the perimeter" also points to potential issues with overall park upkeep.
- Inconsistent Staff Experience: While most staff are reported as friendly, the surly camp host mentioned in one review could impact the overall guest experience.
Recommendation: Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park offers a potentially convenient location for local RVers, especially those interested in golfing and traveling with pets. The availability of spacious, drive-thru sites is also a plus for larger RVs. However, the significant concerns raised regarding noise, cleanliness, and maintenance are critical factors that should not be overlooked. Potential visitors are strongly advised to contact the RV park directly using the provided phone numbers – (509) 935-6807 or +1 509-935-6807 – to inquire about the current conditions, cleanliness protocols, noise levels, golf course access for RV park guests, and any specific policies regarding pets. It might also be beneficial to seek more recent reviews from other sources to get a broader understanding of the current state of the park before making a reservation. Weigh the potential benefits of the location and amenities against the reported drawbacks to make an informed decision about your "camping near me" experience.

Chewelah Golf and Country Club RV Park Reviews
Very noisy and dusty. Garbage and trash around the perimeter. Bathrooms and shower stalls were gross and in need of a deep clean. Most if the staff are friendly but the camp host was surly. Picnic table at our site was in disrepair and badly needed to be scraped and painted.
Oct 04, 2024 · Sue ThomasThere weren't very many people staying here. I assume it's so cold that people are waiting for better weather. It was quiet and peaceful. A little road noise if a loud vehicle went by. Shower, bathroom and laundry facilities were very clean. The shower/bathroom had a locking door. We felt safe and enjoyed the deer roaming the property. We have dogs and they are good with having them on a leash. I would recommend this park. Drive thru spots are wide enough to accommodate our RV with slides on both sides.
May 15, 2022 · Sandy ReynoldsWe stayed there several times prior to buying property near there. Sites have sewer, electricity, water and Wi-Fi. Several people use it as their summer home, living next to a golf course and a restaurant (Rusty Putter Bar and Grill). RV park and golf course are closed for winter months (Nov-Apr).
Feb 03, 2022 · Jim GishThe clubhouse was extremely nice. We had a family baby shower there and the staff were professional and very helpful.
May 31, 2024 · Teresa SeastedtThey really stack them in here. Way too crowded and the camp host is unfriendly as eff.
