GIFFORD GROUP SITE Introduce
Looking for the perfect spot for 'camping near me' that can accommodate a group? Consider GIFFORD GROUP SITE, located at 1368 Kettle Park Rd, Gifford, WA 99131, USA. Situated in a picturesque area of Washington State, this group campsite offers a unique opportunity for families, friends, and other large parties to enjoy the outdoors together. For inquiries and reservations, you can reach them at (509) 754-7889 or their mobile number, +1 509-754-7889. Give them a call to plan your next group camping adventure.
Based on feedback from a recent visitor in March 2022, GIFFORD GROUP SITE offers a potentially tranquil experience, especially during the early part of the camping season. The reviewer mentioned the opportunity to book the entire group site and have it all to themselves, highlighting the potential for privacy and exclusivity during off-peak times. This suggests that if you are planning a group outing early in the season, you might be able to enjoy a more secluded experience.
The location of GIFFORD GROUP SITE near the Columbia River is a significant environmental feature. The reviewer noted the enjoyment of watching the ferry go back and forth until around 9 pm, indicating proximity to this waterway. This suggests potential access to water-related activities and scenic views of the river. The presence of the river also likely contributes to the natural beauty of the area, potentially offering opportunities for fishing, boating, or simply enjoying the waterfront ambiance, although the availability of these activities directly from the group site isn't explicitly stated.
The review also mentions that early in the season (March), the water and restrooms had not yet been opened up. This is an important piece of information for potential campers planning an early spring visit. It suggests that while the site might be accessible, essential services might be limited or unavailable during the colder months. As the weather warms up, it's reasonable to assume that these facilities would become operational. Therefore, it's crucial to inquire about the availability of water and restroom facilities when making your reservation, especially if you are planning a trip outside of the peak summer season.
Despite its proximity to the road, the reviewer noted that it was easy to forget how close they actually were, indicating that the layout or natural surroundings of the group site help to buffer the noise and visual impact of nearby traffic. This is a positive aspect, suggesting that even though the site is accessible, it still offers a sense of immersion in nature and a feeling of being somewhat removed from developed areas.
The reviewer highly recommends GIFFORD GROUP SITE, particularly for the early season experience. However, they also anticipate that the site becomes much more crowded as the weather warms up. This is a common trend for popular camping locations, suggesting that if you are seeking a quieter experience, especially for a large group, an early or late season booking might be preferable. For local users searching for 'camping near me' for a group, this insight is valuable for planning the timing of your trip.
While the review doesn't provide extensive details about specific services or features beyond the mention of restrooms (which were closed during the early season visit), the fact that it is designated as a 'group site' implies certain features designed to accommodate larger parties. This could include a larger designated camping area, potentially with more space for multiple tents or RVs (though RV suitability isn't explicitly mentioned), and possibly communal areas like picnic tables or fire rings suitable for groups. It would be beneficial to inquire with the campground directly about the specific amenities available at the group site.
The environment surrounding GIFFORD GROUP SITE in Gifford, Washington, is likely characterized by the natural beauty of the Columbia River region. This could include wooded areas, views of the river, and potentially access to nearby natural attractions. The Kettle Falls area, where Gifford is located, is known for its scenic landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities. Camping at GIFFORD GROUP SITE could provide a base for exploring these local attractions and enjoying the natural environment of northeastern Washington.
As there is no specific promotional information provided, the primary promotion for GIFFORD GROUP SITE comes from the positive experience shared by the reviewer, particularly the opportunity for a secluded group camping experience early in the season. For local users searching for 'camping near me' for a group, the potential for booking an entire site and enjoying relative solitude, especially outside of peak times, is a significant draw. The proximity to the Columbia River also adds to its appeal, suggesting opportunities for water-based activities and scenic enjoyment.
To get a comprehensive understanding of the services and features available at GIFFORD GROUP SITE, especially regarding group-specific amenities, RV access, and the operational status of facilities like water and restrooms during different times of the year, it is highly recommended that local users contact the campground directly at (509) 754-7889 or +1 509-754-7889. They will be able to provide the most up-to-date information and assist with group bookings.
In conclusion, GIFFORD GROUP SITE in Gifford, Washington, appears to be a promising option for local users seeking 'camping near me' for a group. Its location near the Columbia River offers potential for scenic beauty and water-related activities. The possibility of enjoying the entire group site with solitude, particularly in the early season, is a significant advantage. However, it's essential to contact the campground directly to confirm the availability of services and amenities, especially if planning a trip outside of the peak summer months. Consider GIFFORD GROUP SITE for your next group camping adventure in Washington State!

GIFFORD GROUP SITE Reviews
We had a great time camping here. Because it was so early in the year, we were able to book the group site and had it all to ourselves. The water and the restrooms had not even been opened up yet! We got to watch the ferry go back forth until about 9pm, then it was pure solitude. It was easy to forget how close we actually were to the road. I definitely recommend this place, but I imagine it gets much more crowded as the weather warms up. Visited 3/2022***I would love to add a few photos, but I just get the "upload pending" glitch 😿😿😿
