China Meadows Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a "camping near me" experience that offers a blend of accessibility and tranquility, China Meadows Campground, located on Forest Rd 125, Evanston, WY 82930, USA, presents an interesting option. Based on the limited customer feedback available, this campground is described as a "nice low key spot," suggesting a relaxed and uncrowded atmosphere. Its location is noted as being "not too far from town but far enough to be quiet," indicating a balance between convenience and peacefulness. If you are looking for a less bustling campground that still offers relatively easy access to amenities, China Meadows Campground might be a suitable choice for your next outdoor adventure.
The environment of China Meadows Campground appears to be characterized by its quiet and somewhat secluded nature. The description of being "far enough to be quiet" suggests that the campground is situated away from major roads or urban noise, allowing visitors to enjoy a more serene natural setting. While specific details about the landscape, vegetation, or nearby natural attractions are not provided in the reviews, the general area around Evanston, Wyoming, is known for its forests and mountainous terrain. Therefore, campers can likely expect to be surrounded by trees and potentially have access to hiking trails or other natural features typical of a forest environment. The "low key" nature of the spot might also imply a less developed area, perhaps with more natural and less manicured surroundings compared to more heavily facilitated campgrounds. However, it is important to note a concern raised by one reviewer regarding trash left behind in recent years, which is "very saddening." This suggests that while the natural environment might be appealing, responsible waste management by all visitors is crucial to maintain its beauty and integrity. For local users prioritizing a quiet and natural setting when searching for "camping near me," China Meadows Campground seems to offer this, although vigilance regarding cleanliness is important.
Information regarding the specific services and amenities offered at China Meadows Campground is not detailed in the provided reviews. However, based on the fact that it is referred to as a campground, we can infer some basic services that are typically available. These usually include designated campsites, which may be suitable for tents, RVs, or a combination of both. Campsites often have basic amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings or designated campfire areas. Access to potable water and restroom facilities are also common necessities at campgrounds, although the type and quality of these can vary. Given the limited information, it is unclear whether China Meadows Campground offers more developed amenities such as flush toilets, showers, or electrical hookups. The absence of specific mentions of these might suggest that it is a more rustic or minimally developed campground. To obtain accurate information about the services available, including details about campsite amenities, water access, restroom facilities, waste disposal, and any specific regulations (e.g., regarding campfires or pets), it is advisable to contact the managing authority, which could be the U.S. Forest Service given the address on Forest Road 125. They can provide the most up-to-date details to help local users planning their "camping near me" trip to China Meadows Campground be well-prepared.
The features of China Meadows Campground are somewhat implied by the limited reviews. Its "low key" nature suggests a relaxed and uncrowded atmosphere, which can be a significant feature for those seeking a quieter camping experience. The location being "not too far from town but far enough to be quiet" offers a balance of accessibility and seclusion. While specific recreational features are not mentioned, the likely presence of a forest environment suggests opportunities for hiking and nature walks. The proximity to Evanston, WY, might also provide access to local amenities or attractions outside of the campground itself. However, the lack of explicit mentions of features like lake access, specific trails within the campground, or dedicated recreational areas means that potential visitors should not assume these are available without further investigation. The primary features seem to be its peaceful ambiance and convenient, yet somewhat secluded, location. For local users prioritizing a quiet and easily accessible "camping near me" option, China Meadows Campground appears to offer these basic features, but further research into specific amenities and recreational opportunities is recommended.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for China Meadows Campground based on the provided reviews. Campgrounds, especially those in more natural or less developed areas, often rely on their inherent appeal rather than active promotions. Information about camping fees, permit requirements, and reservation procedures, if applicable, would typically be available through the managing authority, such as the U.S. Forest Service. Local users interested in camping at China Meadows Campground should consult the official website of the relevant forest service district or recreation.gov for the most accurate information regarding costs and booking procedures. It is also advisable to check for any seasonal closures or specific regulations that might be in place. While specific promotions might not be common, the "low key" and quiet nature of the campground might be considered an inherent draw for a certain type of camper.

China Meadows Campground Reviews
Nice low key spot, not too far from town but far enough to be quiet.
Nov 24, 2023 · Brad ThorntonAlways a great place to visit. However the trash left behind the past few years is very saddening.
Sep 17, 2020 · H8LiberalsReally nice area on the north face of the Uintas. Try it out for a much less crowded, more primitive camping experience.
Sep 05, 2017 · Brenden HaueterNice campground. Nice secluded feeling at night. Anyone with a large RV I would advise caution in staying in this campground as the loop around it is narrow and difficult to maneuver. I have a 19’ trailer and damaged it on a tree and a boulder on the ground. This campground is very lightly used but really well maintained. Kudos to the cleaners of the outhouse, very clean!! Very beautiful location at a high elevation for nice cool nights.
Jul 04, 2022 · Ernest KyedBeautiful. Muddy trail in many parts. Super friendly horseback forest service crew. Not much to get into once you're at camp. Fishing was pretty bad. Didn't really cross any mosquitoes. But I mean... backpacking and gorgeous views! Can't ask for much more. I'm sure time of year is everything out here.
