Country Shore Camping Area Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in southern New Hampshire, Country Shore Camping Area, located at 125 NH-125, Kingston, NH 03848 (phone: (603) 642-5072, mobile: +1 603-642-5072), presents itself as a potentially appealing option. Based on recent customer feedback, this campground offers a mix of positive attributes, such as clean facilities and spacious sites, alongside some aspects that prospective campers should be aware of to ensure a satisfying experience.
Environment: Country Shore Camping Area is situated with access to a lake, providing opportunities for water-based activities. Reviewers mention "great fishing and kayaking," particularly when there are fewer boats on the water, suggesting a pleasant experience for these activities under favorable conditions. The campground also features a "nice little beach," indicating a designated area for swimming and lakeside relaxation. However, one significant environmental concern raised is the presence of leeches in the swimming area, which families with children should take into consideration. The overall atmosphere is described by one reviewer as "very clean, quiet well maintained," suggesting a peaceful and orderly environment. The size of the campsites is noted as a "plus side," with at least one reviewer appreciating the spaciousness of their site.
Services: Country Shore Camping Area offers a range of services to accommodate its guests, though it lacks some amenities found at other campgrounds:
- Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities: A recurring positive comment is the cleanliness and maintenance of the campground. One reviewer explicitly stated it is a "very clean, quiet well maintained family campground."
- Central Laundry Area with Bathrooms: The presence of a central laundry area with attached bathrooms provides convenience for longer stays and general hygiene needs.
- Lake Access: The campground offers access to a lake, facilitating activities like swimming, fishing, and kayaking.
- Spacious Campsites: Campers can expect generously sized sites, offering more room and privacy compared to some other campgrounds.
- Friendly Staff (Mostly): The majority of the staff are described as "nice." However, one reviewer noted a negative experience with one particular staff member, Penny, who was described as "very rude." This suggests that while most interactions are positive, there might be exceptions.
Features: Country Shore Camping Area has several features that contribute to the overall camping experience, both positively and negatively, according to the reviews:
- Good Fishing and Kayaking: For those who enjoy angling and paddling, the lake offers opportunities for these activities, especially during quieter times with less boat traffic.
- Nice Little Beach: The presence of a beach provides a spot for sunbathing and swimming, although the issue with leeches should be considered.
- Quiet Atmosphere: The campground is described as "quiet," which can be a significant draw for campers seeking a peaceful retreat.
- Proximity to Amenities: Shopping and food options are located within a "short drive" from the campground, offering convenience for necessities and dining out. The reviewer noted that most restaurants were open towards the end of the season, suggesting that availability might fluctuate.
- Limited Activities and Social Interaction: One reviewer noted that the "activities not what we were used to" and there was "not much participation from other campers." This suggests that the campground might not have a highly organized or social atmosphere in terms of activities.
- Lack of On-Site Store: A significant drawback mentioned is that "They do not have snack or any kind of store." This means campers need to plan ahead and bring all necessary supplies, as there are no on-site options for purchasing forgotten items or snacks.
- Issues with Boating Rules: One reviewer reported that "Boaters did not follow rules and keep proper distance from others," which could impact the safety and enjoyment of lake activities for other users.
- Potentially Unfavorable Seasonal Camping Policies: One reviewer who went seasonal a month late reported being charged the full seasonal rate despite the season ending earlier than expected (September 20th). They also mentioned a policy of charging per person rather than based on site occupancy, which resulted in their daughter and husband being charged a "rate for renting a site" when staying alone for a weekend. These points highlight the importance of clarifying seasonal and visitor policies before committing.
Promotional Information: The provided reviews do not explicitly mention any promotional offers or discounts. For local users considering "camping near me" at Country Shore Camping Area, it would be prudent to contact them directly at (603) 642-5072 or +1 603-642-5072 to inquire about:
- Current Rates: Obtain information on daily, weekly, and seasonal rates, and clarify what is included in these charges (e.g., number of occupants).
- Seasonal Camping Details: If interested in seasonal camping, thoroughly discuss the duration of the season, payment policies for late starts, and any rules regarding visitors.
- Group Rates: If planning a trip with a group, inquire about potential discounts or special arrangements.
- Off-Season Rates: If considering camping outside of the peak season, ask about any reduced rates.
- Long-Term Stay Discounts: For extended stays, there might be discounted rates available.
- Any Current Promotions: Inquire if the campground is currently running any special offers or promotions.
- Clarification on Visitor Policies: Specifically ask about the policy for visitors and whether there are any charges involved.
In conclusion, Country Shore Camping Area in Kingston, NH, offers a clean and quiet environment with spacious campsites and lake access for fishing and kayaking. Its proximity to shopping and dining is also a plus. However, potential campers should be aware of the reported issues with leeches in the swimming area, the lack of an on-site store, and the potential for inconsistent boating etiquette on the lake. Additionally, the experience with seasonal camping policies suggests the importance of clear communication regarding rates and visitor rules. For local users prioritizing a clean and peaceful setting with good fishing and kayaking, and who are prepared to bring all their supplies, Country Shore Camping Area could be a suitable option. It is highly recommended to contact the campground directly to address any specific concerns and to obtain the most up-to-date information on rates and policies before making a reservation.

Country Shore Camping Area Reviews
Activites not what we were used to. Not much participation from other campers. On the plus side loved size of our site. Down side kids got leeches on them when swimming. Plus side great fishing and kayaking when less boats on water. Boaters did not follow rules and keep proper distance from others. All staff nice with the exception of Penny. Very rude when dealing with her. Went seasonal with them a month late and then found out they end in Sept 20, a month earlier than most and charged full seasonal rate. They charge for everyone instead of just charging over allowable site occupancy and when we let our daughter and husband take a weekend alone, they were charged rate for renting a site. They do not have snack or any kind of store. So if you need anything plan on heading out of the campground.
Sep 15, 2019 · Jean CoigleyA very clean, quiet well maintained family campground. Stayed there for the season and really enjoyed it! Nice little beach, easy access to everything. Central laundry area with bathrooms. Shopping, food was a short drive away. Most restaurants were open towards the end of the season due to the virus. Great time!!
Oct 01, 2020 · Kris KumarooWe have a seasonal site at Country Shore and it has been wonderful having a place we can go on weekends, especially this year! The staff and other campers are friendly and helpful. We are happy to have joined the Country Shore family!
Sep 08, 2020 · Don SchmidtWe had two restful quiet nights at this RV Park. It was one of the hottest weekends of the summer and thankfully this campground provided plenty of tall trees for shade and a large lake to cool off in.
Aug 31, 2021 · LivingsongNOT for tenters. This is a 100% RV Camping Area. The sites are very small and give 0 privacy, it honestly feels like your in an RV Park rather than a campground. The Staff was okay but did seem annoyed whenever we asked any questions. If you are looking for a true camping experience with nature this is NOT the place to go, you are better off camping in your backyard than camping at Country Shore Campgrounds.
