Four Seasons Campground Introduce
For local users searching for "camping near me" in the Scotrun, PA area, Four Seasons Campground, located at 249 Babbling Brook Rd, Scotrun, PA 18355, presents a mixed picture based on recent customer reviews. You can contact them at (570) 629-2504 or +1 570-629-2504 for more information.
Several aspects of Four Seasons Campground receive positive mentions. The campgrounds are generally described as "very clean," and the facilities are also noted to be clean. The environment is "very well shaded," which could be appealing during warmer months, providing a cooler and more comfortable camping experience. Some reviewers also found the campground to be "super cozy." Additionally, certain individuals at the campground, such as "the old karaoke guy" and some of the long-term residents, are described as "very kind" and "super nice and friendly," contributing to a potentially welcoming atmosphere with some members of the community.
However, it's crucial for local users to be aware of concerns raised in the negative feedback to make an informed decision about their "camping near me" options. One recurring issue is the size and spacing of the campsites. A reviewer explicitly states, "If you are looking for a camping place where you feel like you are camping this is NOT the place for you. The spots are so tight, you feel like you are on top of each other. There is absolutely not privacy at all." This lack of space and privacy is a significant drawback for those seeking a more secluded camping experience.
Another point of contention is the perceived cost structure. One camper felt the staff was "thirsty for money," mentioning charges not just for the spot but also per person, including a three-year-old. While per-person charges are not uncommon in campgrounds, this reviewer felt it wasn't justified given the tight campsite sizes. It's advisable for potential visitors to inquire about all applicable fees upfront.
For families with children who enjoy outdoor activities, one review suggests that Four Seasons Campground might not be the best fit. They mention "very strict rules" and a feeling that it's "more like a retirement campgrounds." Specific examples include the pool hours, which close relatively early (5 PM on weekdays and 7 PM on weekends) and a strict policy requiring two adults to obtain the pool key at all times, even for adult swimmers. This could limit the usability of the pool, especially for those who plan day trips and return later. Additionally, the pool is reported to be unheated, and the shade keeps it cold.
The same reviewer also noted a feeling of being under surveillance due to staff patrolling on four-wheelers and an instance of a staff member walking alongside their camper, which felt intrusive. While the staff's intentions might have been benign (e.g., meter reading), it contributed to a sense of unease for this camper.
Furthermore, the reviewer who found the campground nice overall also described it as feeling like a "ghost town," despite most sites being filled, suggesting a lack of general activity or a very quiet atmosphere. This might appeal to some seeking a peaceful retreat but could be a drawback for those looking for a more lively camping environment.
In summary, Four Seasons Campground offers clean facilities and well-shaded campsites, with some friendly long-term residents. However, potential local users should be aware of the tight spacing of the campsites, potential per-person fees, strict rules (particularly around the pool), and a generally quiet atmosphere that some might find restrictive, especially families with active children. The experience seems to lean more towards a seasonal community with a focus on quiet enjoyment rather than a traditional, activity-filled campground.
For local users considering "camping near me" at Four Seasons Campground, it is highly recommended to read multiple reviews and to contact the campground directly to inquire about campsite sizes, all applicable fees (including per-person charges), pool rules and hours, and the general atmosphere to determine if it aligns with your expectations. Given the contrasting experiences reported, what one person finds cozy and clean, another might find cramped and overly regulated. Therefore, direct communication is key to making an informed decision.
There is no specific promotional information available in these reviews. However, the cleanliness and shade could be seen as inherent benefits. Ultimately, whether Four Seasons Campground is the right choice for your local "camping near me" depends on your priorities: if you value cleanliness and shade and prefer a very quiet environment, it might be suitable. However, if you prioritize spacious campsites, privacy, flexible pool access, and a more active atmosphere, you might want to explore other options.

Four Seasons Campground Reviews
If you are looking for a camping place where you feel like you are camping this is NOT the place for you . The spots are so tight , you feel like you are on top of each other . The staff is thirsty for money , be ready to pay not just for the spot but for each person in your group , they even charged me for my 3 year old ( maybe this is a new thing ) . I would have no problem paying for it if the spots were bigger . Please do yourself a favor and read all the NEGATIVE reviews before coming here . There is absolutely not privacy at all . This is a seasonal camping grounds people live in this place . My family and I felt so uncomfortable the whole time . We have been camping for a decade and this is by far the worst place I have ever stayed. The old karaoke guy was very kind , the campgrounds are very clean besides the women’s bathroom , the pool was very cute too . There were old people who live there that are very kind as well .
May 27, 2024 · Tanner ObrienSuper cozy and clean, but.......Found the campgrounds to be very nice. Very well shaded. Facilities are clean. However, I would not recommend this for families with children that like to do outdoor activities. They have very strict rules and it feels more like a retirement campgrounds. The pool closes at 5p on weekdays and 7p on weekends. Very strictly enforced. Also, it is locked all times and you must have two people to get the key (even if you are an adult). If you plan to do day activities away from camp, you will not be able to use the pool. Plus, the pool is not heated. With all the shade, it stays cold. If you are looking for a KOA type experience, it's not going to satisfy. The staff patrols the campground as well on 4 wheelers. Kind of makes you feel like you are under surveillance all the time. One day I had a staff member walking up the side of my camper where our windows are. Our blinds were up to allow light in. I noticed him when I exited the camper and I startled him. Might have been reading the meter or something but didn't feel like that. Other than a couple staff members, the rest were super nice and friendly. It's very quiet, not many people out. Most sites are filled, but still feels like a ghost town.
Jul 03, 2023 · Bill Woods@tannerobrien I have no idea what happened but … since 1995 we have camped at this campground. Not only did my children grow upHere but now my grandchildren are. I amSorry your experience unfavorable. I have not had one single complaint since 1995.
Jun 02, 2024 · Carol KreppelWe stayed here the month of June. Our site #29 backed up to a wall of rocks which was great. The staff was amazing and were like busy worker bees tending to all the chores keeping the grounds neat and facilities clean. Laundry room was functional and clean. Lots of seasonal campers that were polite and nice. Most of the sites were gravel and level. Pool was cleaned daily. Quiet and relaxing! Easy access to highway and shopping.
Sep 29, 2021 · Ranea SJust completed our first year as a seasonal. What a great campground. The owners ( Ed & Deb ) were very helpful in helping us to relocate from a campground 100 miles away. I needed someone to pull my camper here and then Marie came along. Marie is a full time employee at the campground and was able to pickup my trailer and relocate it here. What a gal. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our first year at this campground and are looking forward to many more.
