Pocono Vacation Park Introduce
For local residents in the Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania area searching for "camping near me," Pocono Vacation Park, located at 110 Arnie Way, presents a year-round camping option with a convenient location and certain amenities. Based on recent customer reviews, the park offers well-sized, pull-through sites with full hookups, making it particularly suitable for RV and camper owners. However, some reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the professionalism and customer service experienced with the office staff, which potential visitors should be aware of. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the environment, services, features, and potential considerations of Pocono Vacation Park based on the available user feedback.
The environment surrounding Pocono Vacation Park in Stroudsburg benefits from its location within the popular Pocono Mountains region. This area is known for its scenic landscapes, offering a blend of natural beauty and accessibility to various attractions and conveniences. According to user reviews, the park is easily accessed from major highways like 611 and 209, making it a convenient stop for travelers and a potentially accessible destination for local users seeking "camping near me" without venturing too far. The proximity to resorts, casinos, and an abundance of restaurants within a short five-minute drive adds to the location's appeal, offering a balance between a natural setting and urban conveniences. While the reviews don't extensively detail the immediate natural surroundings within the park itself, the regional context suggests a setting characterized by woodlands and the typical Pocono scenery. One review notes the roads within the campground are gravel and well-maintained even in winter, indicating attention to infrastructure regardless of the season.
Pocono Vacation Park offers several key services that cater primarily to RV and camper stays. Multiple reviews mention the availability of 50 and 30 Amp full hookups, which are essential for RVs requiring electricity, water, and sewer connections. The positive feedback on the "good size" of the short-term sites and the convenience of pull-through sites suggests that the infrastructure is well-designed for accommodating various sizes of recreational vehicles and facilitating easy setup and departure. The campground also reportedly offers Wi-Fi access, a valuable amenity for staying connected. Furthermore, the park is open year-round, catering to both workers needing temporary accommodation and campers passing through, indicating a consistent availability of services throughout the year. However, a notable absence of laundry facilities on-site is mentioned in one review, which might be a consideration for longer stays, although a laundromat is reportedly located within a 15-minute drive. The significant negative feedback regarding interactions with the office staff, including issues with billing discrepancies, unprofessional behavior, and a general feeling of being unwelcome, raises serious concerns about the quality of customer service experienced during check-in, payment, and inquiries.
The features of Pocono Vacation Park include practical amenities for RV and camper owners, such as full hookups and pull-through sites. The well-maintained gravel roads, even in winter, suggest a commitment to accessibility and upkeep of the infrastructure. The availability of Wi-Fi is another notable feature for connectivity. While one review mentions that the park could have "more things to do" within the campground itself, it also acknowledges the abundance of attractions and activities available in the surrounding Pocono Mountains region. The park is described as "very family friendly" while maintaining a relatively quiet atmosphere, which could be appealing to families seeking a peaceful getaway with access to regional attractions. The proximity to resorts and casinos might be a feature for those interested in entertainment options beyond traditional camping activities, and the abundance of nearby restaurants offers convenient dining choices. However, the negative experiences reported with the office staff could overshadow these positive features for some visitors, potentially impacting their overall perception and enjoyment of the park. The lack of on-site laundry is a feature to note for those planning longer stays.
Currently, the provided user reviews do not contain any specific information about active promotional offers or discounts at Pocono Vacation Park. Local users searching for "camping near me" and looking for deals would likely need to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers, (570) 424-2587 or +1 570-424-2587, or visit their website (if available) to inquire about seasonal rates, special packages, or any current promotions. Given the negative experiences reported with the office staff regarding billing and customer service, it would be particularly prudent for potential visitors to confirm all rates and policies clearly before booking and upon arrival to avoid any discrepancies or misunderstandings. The absence of any mention of promotional offers in the reviews suggests that the park's primary focus, at least based on recent customer experiences, has been on providing the basic amenities rather than attracting visitors through special deals. Therefore, local users should base their decision on the location, services, and features offered, while being mindful of the reported customer service issues, and directly inquire about pricing and any potential discounts.
In conclusion, Pocono Vacation Park in Stroudsburg, PA, offers a conveniently located, year-round camping option, particularly well-suited for RV and camper owners due to its full hookups and pull-through sites. The park benefits from its proximity to the attractions and conveniences of the Pocono Mountains region. However, multiple recent customer reviews highlight significant concerns regarding unprofessional and rude behavior from the office staff, leading to billing issues and a feeling of being unwelcome. While the campground offers essential amenities and a good location, local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of these reported customer service problems and consider them carefully when making their decision. It is strongly recommended to contact the park directly to confirm rates, policies, and any available promotions, and to be prepared for potentially negative interactions with the office staff based on recent experiences shared by other campers.

Pocono Vacation Park Reviews
Good location, the short term sites are a good size. The interaction with the office ladies was not good. We checked in and went to pay and was told we owed $65 more than what was quoted and written down as being owed. I mentioned it to the older lady that was helping us and she got very upset and raised her voice and said that the number of days was wrong and we owed more. I paid and after setting up I looked at our receipt and we were charged for 10 days and not the 9 we were staying.I talked to Heather at the gate and she was very nice and said that Peggy could help us in the office the next day to get the extra night refunded. No problem, this happens and I wasn't overly worried about, just wanted the extra night refunded eventually. I went in the next day to talk to Peggy about the refund. She was quite short with me and said she already knew all about it and to just give her my card to refund. I wanted to discuss with her the possibility of extending our stay for about a month if that was possible. After some sighs and grunts and throwing up of hands she said they may have a spot. I told her I would know later in the day if I would need to extend and would get back her and we could wait on the refund till then.We decided that after the interaction with both Peggy and the other office lady that we would not extend, we felt unwelcome and a burden. I went back to the office to tell Peggy we would not be extending and would like the refund of the extra day they charged us. While I was in the office she was all chatty and laughing with the full timers from the park that were in the office but when it came time for me to talk to her she was blunt and rude. I had to give her my card and also asked if I could purchase propane. She grunted and sighed again, acting like I was asking for a miracle. After the refund was processed and propane was purchased, she threw my card at me and told me to sign the receipts and go outside to wait for the person to help me with the propane. After being treated that way, we decided to leave early, and it was just a terrible experience. We will not be going back. So just a heads up that you may encounter some not so nice individuals working the office.
Nov 01, 2024 · Michael WatsonPVP is a great place to stay/visit. They have 50 and 30 Amp full hookups. The camp sites are a nice size. They are pull through for ease. The roads are gravel and well maintained even in Winter! The camp does have wifi. PVP is open year round for workers and campers just passing through. It is a great place.Very family friendly, but not a lot of noise. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They could have more things to do, but you're in the Pocono Mountains so there is a lot to see and do. There are no laundry facilities on site. There is a laundromat within 15 minutes of the camp ground. The camp is located in a great place, easily accessed from Hwy 611 and Hwy 209. The camp is within a short driving distance to a few resorts and casinos. Restaurants are abundant within 5 minutes of the camp.
Sep 24, 2024 · Patricia EdwardsThis place was great when we needed it! Who would have thought that finding a all season rv in this area would have been so hard(I kid). Despite that, we could not get the wifi(any of them) to work for us, which considering the weather was so bad outside left us kind of with very minimal things to do. We made do, but for some people wifi access is a need. Friendly staff, friendly people, a LOT of permanent residents, and a small store.
Jan 09, 2024 · CharlotteIt's not your typical campground. I'd say it is rustic. Most everyone there looks like permanent residence. But the people I met were very nice and the park was quiet at night. I had a good stay overnight and the ladies in the office were very accommodating. I would stay there again if I'm ever passing through.
Sep 20, 2022 · J LOne night stay after a heavy rain,. Many sites had very large muddy puddles. We were originally directed to a site with a pond sized puddle, but staff led us to a dryer site nearby. Lots of full time sites. Sites are pretty close together. Another RV pulled in right next to us and our view was there RV. Staff was very pleasant and we have no complaints about full timers, the ones we met were pleasant. Full hook up, pull thru site, easy to hook up. Lovely plantings. Not sure we would stay for more than a night or two, price seemed high for condition and location.
