Thousand Trails Scotrun Introduce
For our local community members in search of "camping near me," we present Thousand Trails Scotrun, a campground located in the scenic region of Scotrun, Pennsylvania. Situated at PA-611, Scotrun, PA 18355, USA, and reachable by phone at (570) 629-0620 or mobile +1 570-629-0620, this campground offers a variety of amenities and appears to be a potentially appealing destination for families and individuals seeking an outdoor getaway close to home. Based on recent customer reviews, Thousand Trails Scotrun offers a welcoming staff and clean facilities, although some aspects of maintenance and the availability of all amenities should be considered.
The environment at Thousand Trails Scotrun is situated in the Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. While specific details about the immediate surroundings are not extensively described in the provided reviews, the location itself suggests access to the scenic landscapes that the Poconos are famous for. One reviewer noted that the park "looks like it would be an amazing place for families during the summer season," implying a setting conducive to outdoor activities and enjoyment of nature. However, another reviewer mentioned a concern about the presence of "too many 'residents' who have way too much stuff on their sites," which they felt detracted from the campground atmosphere. This suggests a blend of transient campers and potentially longer-term stays within the campground. The availability of full hook-up sites being located "away from everything" might influence the environmental experience depending on site selection. For local users seeking a Poconos camping experience, Thousand Trails Scotrun offers a convenient location, but it's advisable to inquire about the layout of the campground and the proximity of different types of sites to amenities and natural areas when making reservations.
In terms of services, Thousand Trails Scotrun appears to offer a range of amenities, although their operational status may vary. One positive aspect highlighted by a reviewer was the "lovely personable office clerk, Cathy," who was described as "remarkably helpful" and provided insight into the area. This suggests a positive initial point of contact and potentially helpful local information for campers. The cleanliness of the park and restrooms was also noted positively, with one reviewer stating that the "restrooms were very clean and well kept." This is a significant service aspect for the comfort and convenience of campers. However, another review mentioned that "the water slides have not worked for awhile" and that while "one pool was nice," the "other was dirty." This indicates that some of the recreational amenities might be subject to maintenance issues. The availability of cable hookups at some sites was mentioned as a positive feature. It was also noted that "if you want full hook ups you are away from everything," suggesting a potential trade-off between site amenities and location within the campground. The fact that "amenities were not all opened yet" during one reviewer's visit implies that the full range of services might be seasonal or subject to specific schedules. Local users planning a stay should inquire about the operational status of specific amenities, the location of different types of campsites (e.g., full hook-up vs. others), and the availability of services such as laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, or recreational equipment rentals.
The features of Thousand Trails Scotrun seem to cater to both short-term visitors and potentially longer-term stays. The presence of water slides and pools suggests family-friendly recreational features, although the operational status of the water slides appears to be a concern based on one review. The availability of cable hookups at some sites is a feature that might appeal to those wanting to stay connected or enjoy entertainment during their camping trip. The provision of full hook-up sites (water, electricity, and sewer) caters to RV campers, although their location away from other amenities might be a factor to consider. The mention of "too many 'residents' who have way too much stuff on their sites" could be perceived as a feature that alters the typical campground atmosphere, potentially making it feel more like a semi-permanent community in some areas. However, for local users seeking a campground with a range of amenities, including pools and potentially other recreational facilities (once fully opened and maintained), Thousand Trails Scotrun offers possibilities. The helpfulness of the office staff, particularly Cathy, is a notable positive feature that can enhance the overall experience by providing local information and assistance. Local families looking for a campground with recreational options might find the potential of Thousand Trails Scotrun appealing, provided they inquire about the current status of the amenities.

In conclusion, Thousand Trails Scotrun in Scotrun, PA, offers a locally accessible camping option with a welcoming staff and clean restrooms. The campground has the potential to be a great family destination, especially during the summer season when all amenities are expected to be open. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported maintenance issues with some amenities, such as the water slides and the cleanliness of one of the pools, as well as the presence of long-term residents that might affect the overall campground feel. The location of full hook-up sites away from other amenities is also a factor for RV campers to consider. Local users are encouraged to contact Thousand Trails Scotrun directly to inquire about the current status of all amenities, the layout of the campground, and any available promotions for local residents or first-time visitors before making their booking decision.

Thousand Trails Scotrun Reviews
As with a lot of Thousand Trails it is lacking maintenance. The water slides have not worked for awhile. One pool was nice and the other was dirty. There are to many "residents" who have way to much stuff on their sites. It is supposed to be a campground which the "residents" seem to forget. Staff were super nice but if you want full hook ups you are away from everything. They do have a cable hook up which was nice to have.
Aug 26, 2024 · RickYou are welcomed by a lovely personable office clerk, Cathy. She was remarkably helpful and gave us much insight into the area.Park is clean, restrooms were very clean and well kept. Amenities were not all opened yet, but this park looks like it would be an amazing place for families during the summer season. We will likely return here frequently.*****
May 16, 2024 · A DerBest RV Resort ! Quiet, peaceful, friendly staff, nice and super clean pools and slides, clean bathhouses, nice sites for RVs, beautiful Cabins, cozy laundromat and with lots of fun activities every weekend which will for sure, keep your family and friends busy and active. We bought a travel trailer and were looking for an RV campground in the Pocono Mountains. As I was searching for available campgrounds , I came across Scotrun RV Resort but it had a lot of OLD negative reviews about the previous management and staff. However , the newest reviews were positive and people were commenting about the campground having new management and new staff , so I focused on the positive things people were saying about them and decided to give it a try and believe me , it has been the best decision we’ve made. We love everything about Scotrun RV Resort. Liz, the new manager is very nice and down to earth. The lovely Staff Solomon, Larry , Mark , Cathy and Ray, are always willing to help you and with a smile on their face. They all make you feel comfortable and welcomed !
Jan 23, 2025 · Dahiana HolguinOur family of 4 joined my brother's family 6, Kids ages 10-15, and we rented cabins. We were pleasantly surprised at the activities- fishing competition, movies, and crafts. Our kids fished, took boats out on the lake, and fished some more :) The cabins were also upgraded and had more kitchen stuff than I expected. Another pleasant surprise. Kathy and Larry (staff) were warm, friendly, and super accommodating! We'll definitely be back.
Sep 17, 2023 · Chanel LondonThis is a good Thousand Trails location. The campsites were nice although a little on the small side. We had no trouble getting our 44’ Class A into our spot. We had 50a Full Hookups. The staff was really great here and everyone was very kind. We arrived a day early and they let us boondock in their overflow. The pools are great and the kids loved the water slides. There was also plenty of catch and release fishing going on in the pond. The road getting into the park could probably use some work, it’s very steep and is in need of a little repair. The fencing around the pool area needs some work, but it didn’t detract from our enjoyment. The playground, mini golf, Gaga ball, and basketball areas were all nice. The park is about 60% seasonal from what we could tell, it’s got a good mix and variety of rig types, sizes, and ages.We would definitely visit this park again and look forward to seeing the finished improvements they are making.
